I say exactly half the population needs hospitalization, and the other half the population will be the nurses standing at the bedside. then the nurses will contract it from the sick, while the sick learn nursing through observation of their care. simultaneously, everyone lying down recovers and stands up, and those standing up lie down in the bed sick. this rotation works on 2 week shifts ad infinitum.9 points

First it came for the chinamen. And I did nothing. Because I was not a communist. Then it came for the Filipinos. And I did nothing. Because I didn't know where the fuck Manila was. Then it came for the Iranians. And I did nothing. Because that country is run by dicks. Then it came for the dogs. And there was no one left to bark. So I took out my rifle and began shooting shit up.9 points

Y’all have no vision. Get out ahead of this fucking thing and market it the way Trump would. Use simple two-word earworms that attribute blame. And use them over and over and over again: Trump Crash, Trump Crash, Trump Crash. Never mention the stock market without saying “Trump Crash.” Every time the market comes up is an opportunity to stick Trump with its demise. And what cause the Trump Crash? The Trump Plague. Was the Trump Crash really that bad? Yeah - it caused the Trump Recession. Stop trying to use facts and reason and careful, fair analysis to beat this imbecile. Beat him at his own game.8 points

So the stock market tanked because: A. This thread and its posters B. There is a fuck-ton of empty or mostly-empty container ships parked off the coast of China C. Companies like Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, etc. are being impacted by shut-down factories in China, including delayed product launches. I'm just going to take a wild guess and say it's B and C. I'm sure you are a business genius who will explain to us how things not being manufactured and shipped from China have absolutely no impact on the stock market.7 points

Was this posted and I missed it? This thread moves page to page quickly and I miss things. I am amazed that people don't know Barry Sanders but I guess if they don't follow football they wouldn't know he and Garth both attended OSU. I suppose I'm biased due to my Oklahoma connection, but wow....7 points

Some would just like to know the truth which is damn near impossible these days. Did the government take action or ignore the problem? Some news accuses them of ignoring the problem, while others accuse them of overreacting. Some people say the CDC funding has been cut to the point that they can't handle this outbreak, while the AP is saying that their budget has actually been increased by Congress. There's too much bullshit flying around and it's coming from both directions.5 points

Very nice! I feel like it's new gear day today. Got the 52 AV telecaster back from the music store dude, who put the Custom Shop '51 Nocaster pickups in it. Sounds like what I always wanted it to sound like. So the backstory is that it's a 2016 Wildwood Thin Skin 52 American Vintage telecaster. I got this one because I wanted the 9.5" radius fretboard. It's a beauty, although the skin is thinner on the back and the nitro on the neck can get sticky (took a bit of sandpaper and guitar polish to it early on). But the thing that I found pretty curious was the fact that these guitars were spec'd with Custom shop twisted tele pickups. They're nice, but they always seemed not right for the guitar and not very tele like at all. The bridge pickup was really hot and the neck pickup was very strat like. Just not what I wanted. That 64 AV I posted above is a twangy/chimey tele if I ever have heard one. Well, the Nocaster pickups were just the ticket. The bridge pickup is a little tamer, but still has a good deal of 50s bite to it (more mid than chime). The neck pickup is way mellower than the twisted tele, but still sings, especially if I play directly over it. Very well balanced and I finally feel like I have the guitar I was after when I bought the 52. Now, I just need to take some Finesse it Car polish to the neck and board to get them moving a bit better. This is why I sometimes hesitate to get a new guitar. I know the solution is to let this thing live outside the case for a while so the nitro can do whatever curing it has left to do. But it's so dad-gummed pretty (and kids, dogs, etc). Obligatory repost of the day I got it in late 2017.5 points

All three sites have done their pre-spring rankings updates. Here's the in-state composite rankings 1) Tommy Brockermeyer- OT 2) Camar Wheaton- RB 3) Ja'Tavion Sanders- EDGE/HB 4) Savion Byrd- OT 5) Donovan Jackson- Swing OL 6) Billy Bowman- DB/WR 7) Tunmise Adeleye- EDGE/SDE 8') LJ Johnson- RB 9) Preston Stone- QB 10) Bryce Foster- OG 11) JoJo Earle- WR 12) Jalen Milroe- QB 13) Shadrach Banks- WR 14) Marcus Burris- SDE 15) Latrell McCutchin- CB 16) Cody Jackson- WR 17) Garrett Nussmeier- QB 18) Quaydarius Davis- WR 19) Clayton Smith- EDGE 20) Landon Jackson- EDGE 21) Ishmael Ibraheem- CB 22) Dematrius Davis- QB 23) Reuben Fatheree- OT 24) Jaeden Roberts- OG 25) Eli Stowers- QB 26) Derrick Harris Jr- EDGE/LB 27) Kendrick Blackshire- DL 28) J. Michael Sturdivant- WR 29) Sawyer Robertson- QB 30) Theodore Knox- WR 31) Ketron Jackson- WR 32) JD Coffey- S - I think there are surprisingly few hugly overrated prospects, especially this early in the cycle. Preston Stone is the clear one. I think Milroe, Burris, McCutchin, Blackshire, Stowers, Fatheree, Harris, and K Jackson are all slightly overrated, but nothing to scream about - Terrence Cooks is the big one who's missing. He probably should be somewhere in the 5-15 range. El Arroyo should be in the top 30, and maybe even into the teens. I'd have James Brock somewhere in the 25-32 range. - I'd move Ibraheem, Quay Davis, and Landon Jackson up 5-10 spots each - My personal rankings at the top right now are T Brockermeyer, Ja'Tavion Sanders, Billy Bowman, Tunmise Adeleye, Donovan Jackson, Terrence Cooks, Savion Byrd, Landon Jackson, Ishmael Ibraheem, LJ Johnston, Camar Wheaton, Bryce Foster, Shadrack Banks, JoJo Earle, Quay Davis, Cody Jackson, Jalen Milroe. The guys on this list not in the top ten would be in most years, but this class is loaded with top ten types, imo. Adding the three who I think are missing to make a top 35, here's the area breakdown DFW- 17 (they have the top four, and seven of the top ten) Houston- 12 East Texas- 3 Central Texas (Waco down to San Antonio)- 1 West Texas- 1 IMG- 1 Golden Triangle- 0 Other- 0 This is a loaded DFW + Houston year, and a weak Central Texas/Golden Triangle/Other year5 points

1. Many countries like UK are currently in containment phase. But likely at some point infection will start spreading via local transmission. At that point, top priority is to slow the spread, and what we do as individuals and communities will be critical. 2. Fortunately risk of serious illness is low, especially for children. But risk is higher for elderly and people with existing health conditions. Everything we can do to slow the spread will help protect people at higher risk, and less people overall will get infected. 3. There are practical things everyone can do to reduce the risk of getting infected. These need practice, so start doing them now. You may still get infected, but it is worth really trying to avoid infection, because the more we slow spread the better. Slow the spread, buy time. 4. Stop touching your face. Especially stop touching your eyes, nose or mouth. This is much much harder than it sounds, and takes practice. But if you start practising now, you will quickly get a lot better at it. 5. Wash your hands often. Wash with soap and water for 20 seconds, or rub hands with alcohol hand gel. Especially wash hands before eating or touching food. 6. If you or a friend or family member takes any prescription medication, make sure you have a good supply, e.g., at least 4 weeks worth. 7. Don't panic buy enough food to survive a zombie apocalypse. But do buy a few extra provisions. Do it a bit at a time, add a few extra things in when you normally go shopping. Have 2 weeks worth of provisions, including some chocolate or other treats. Don't forget about pets. 8. When local transmission does start, keep your distance from people, at least 2 metres. Especially people showing symptoms, but some people may carry the virus and transmit without symptoms, so generally keep some distance where you can. Stop shaking hands etc. 9. While a mask seems like a good idea, it can give a false sense of security. There isn’t a lot of good evidence that shows a mask to reliably prevent infection when worn by the public. But they are useful to put on a sick person to reduce their spreading of the virus. 10. If you or a loved one becomes sick, follow the practices of the day. Call ahead before going to a Doctor, fever clinic or hospital and get advice on what to do. Think through now how to take care of sick family members while trying not to get infected. 11. Talk things through with friends and family. Be prepared that some people will be very willing to talk about it, others may be reluctant or frightened. But general advice is that it's a good way to prepare emotionally for life not as usual. 12. Unfortunately it doesn't look like this will be over quickly. The new coronavirus may be with us into next year. It might even become a seasonal infection, returning each winter. This is probably going to be a marathon, not a sprint. 13. If you end up stuck at home for a couple of weeks, don't forget about skype/facetime/google hangouts/etc., a great way to catch up, check in and hang out with friends and family. 14. If you manage a business or organisation, cross-train key staff at work so one person’s absence won’t derail our organisation’s ability to function.5 points
