Starting to empty the freezer of all the meat rations I loaded up on during Covid season. Felt like making some cheesesteaks. Had some ribeyes from Costco that I sliced thin. Finished with mushrooms and homemade Mustard Blend. Plate is a salad plate for scale. Slammed/went hard. I’ll see myself to some more allopurinol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk10 points

It’s such an amazing coincidence that you can take any event, oh let’s take for example a pandemic, and see everyone’s political affiliations align perfectly on the issue. It happens on every issue: sexual assault, immigration, pandemics, etc. It’s all about teams, and no longer about issues. Sigh. I miss the days of objective evaluation of issues rather than complete alignment of beliefs to ones political affiliation.9 points

This post brought to you by a sad fuckstick that couldn’t see we were picking on Hugo, because he’s fucking Hugo. not to mention the fact that China did everything they could do for almost 2 months to keep a lid on this ordeal, including using their proxy org The WHO to double deal for them. What a fucking time to be alive. I can’t even believe you wrote what you just wrote with a straight face. Well, yeah I can. But go ahead, and neg away you little bitch.8 points

It became 100% China’s fault when they starting lying to cover up the virus which led to a domino effect in how the entire fucking world responded to said virus. China receiving 100% of the blame for how this virus spread throughout the world is well deserved. Fuck The Chinese Government for their straight up lies and coverup.7 points

The Very, Very Sandy Butthole was one of my favorite children's books. I confess that it was mostly because of Eric Carle's delightful illustrations.7 points

You must be new here. Anything that even implicitly questions our response is impermissible deranged attacks on....you know...someone. The only acceptable statement is that this was unavoidable, and nothing that has happened here is anyone’s fault but China’s.7 points

Go fuck yourself. You're drawing battle lines where there don't need to be battle lines. Maybe all the white men in your shithole state are like this but in civilization they're not.7 points

By having a shut in, a lot of businesses and business owners are losing their entire life’s work. That was my reference. Maybe think about things other than the stonk market and shit?7 points

I mean, that could just be "Busty college girl funds 401k with brilliant investment strategy" -- you can't fault a guy for using the internet to get good financial advice, and so what if the first word was a "hook" to get his attention? That's just SEO at work.7 points

I posted below in hypotheticals thread a few days ago. This analysis absolutely needs to be done. We can't just hole up forever because 20 younger people in IL may die and an extra 3000 elderly people who's avg life expectancy was D +2. Meaning 2 years from the time they actually died. Now did we need to quarantine in densely populated areas so we didn't all turn into NYC/New Orleans? Fuck yes...but we also need to get out and open up society. And that is some point before trying to get to zero deaths risked. When you get sued for malpractice, the lovely attorneys put a value on that life. It's done in each case. If somebody who was already in a nursing home, demented, bedbound passes that's not a very valuable case - the ambulance chasers like work comp/med mal/personal injury cases that are with younger 'more valuable' lives...more valuable meaning they were still earning for a family, had many years left, etc. We don't want to hear it but at some point we'll have to do this with viruses and the lack and do a real analysis. I'm glad I'm a physician and my 'do no harm' hat keeps me out of that decision making process...but it's flat out going to be a necessity.6 points

we had to furlough 2 full time sales reps, a delivery driver, and our assistant brewer. the taproom staff has been manning beer-to-go sales. my partner and i have done all the brewing, cellaring, and packaging. but, sales have been great. our distro business disappeared completely but we’re selling a ton of crowlers and 4-packs. the margins compared to draft beer are trash when you can on our scale (ordering 1 or 2 pallets of cans at a time), but we’re certainly in a much better spot than just about anyone who has no canning line. bringing in enough to pay all of our bills at least.6 points

Perhaps you're unaware, but OnBoard and most of the others here who keep bitching about "CR" are, in fact, CR regulars. You just happen to agree with their position.6 points

Not really. It leads to an “Amber Lamps” know your meme. To understand that, one has to do some digging. Good old Wikipedia (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_Transit_Bus_fight#Amber_Lamps_meme) leads to the discovery that the young woman in the picture came to be called (by the internet) “Amber Lamps,” because she was sitting on a bus in LA, ignoring a fight between two other bus riders. One guy (wearing a t-shirt that said “I AM a motherf’r” (spelled out)) apparently beat down the other guy. The guy who got beat down asked for an “amberlamps,” an alternative pronunciation of ambulance. The fight was videoed (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5q_5vIbsI3A) and the video went viral. “Amber Lamps” came to be the appellation for a young woman in the video who was sitting on another seat, ignoring the fight. And I didn’t LOL. I guess the OP thinks the original video is funny, so thought the still of the woman was funny. Pretty obscure, but whatever. That’s 10 minutes of my life I’ll never get back.6 points

If he had written, “There are fucking people who’ve lost their entire livelihoods man,” then your response would make sense. But it is clear he means that some people might still be able to save their livelihoods. So your statement, “then they have nothing to lose by staying quarantined,” does not follow from the sentence he wrote. They do have something to lose: their livelihoods. Your comment, “think of someone else besides yourself for a change, comrade,” also makes no sense when the point of his post is expressing concern for other people. I’m not saying open up or don’t open up. But your response to what was actually written is so bizarrely off base it stands out even by surly standards.5 points

every single plan that comes from trump is some version of a "get rich quick" scheme. every thing he talks about, every thing he demands, every thing he promises the american people - it's all this aspirational quick-fix bullshit nonsense. he's a lazy clown grifter who's never done any actual work in his life, and that's how he wants this to go. lie, deflect, distract, over-promise, never deliver, then start blaming everybody else. i cannot fucking wait for november. then trump can go back to making 9 billion dollars a month or whatever he'd have us believe.5 points

He needs to get some sleep. He’s got a full day of television watching tomorrow. And again with the “like a dog”. The fact that he has such a low opinion of dogs makes me feel sure that dogs hate him and have shown their hatred of him his entire life. I wouldn’t need to know anything else than that to know he’s a horrible horrible person.5 points
