Who knows? Maybe missing on almost all the good OL this year will be a blessing in the skies next cycle, but we should probably nip that thinking in the butt because it will bring up some really deep-seeded trauma for Newy if he reads this, though I could really care less. Irregardless, we need to pull a complete 360 so we dont have to think about what could of been and this all becomes a mute point. For all intensive purposes,an OL class with guys like Myslinski, Lengyel, and Leyrer doesn't really jive with the championship expectations we have for our sleight of hand QB of the future, Hutson Card.40 points

so, yeah, this is the problem writ large. unarmed black dude, may be a threat, shot several times in the back. armed white dude, with an assault rifle present and visible, who just shot some people, whatever, go on about your business. and some of yall still struggle with why blm is a thing23 points

Kenosha's very own Sweet Corn Fest, held every August Jerry Smith Produce and Pumpkin Farm (7150 18th St.), would like you to know that they are here to support you during this difficult time. When things return to normal, they'll welcome you back for great activities like unlimited hayrides, camel rides, face painting, a petting zoo, and the kid-favorite tractor tire mountain will be there waiting for you! (Not to mention the famous roasted corn!)22 points

Welp, I got some bad news today that is going to put a bullet in the head of this whole thing- repair bill came back at $37k and timeline to fix came back at 3 plus months. it looks like the insurance adjuster is probably going to total it and sell it for salvage. At a minimum it’s looking like after thanksgiving before it’s going to be ready to go. That’s it- we are throwing in the towel I think. which sucks because this thing, I repeat, was awesome when we were in the RV Best hope to keep the dream alive is that it gets fixed up, family wants to go out after Christmas, and I can get someone I work with (or maybe mom and dad) to house sit with us. unfortunately for me (fortunate for her- I’m very proud and we are helping her) my niece and her husband- who had been house sitting- are buying their first house. They were going to wait it out until we got home- whenever that is- so now whenever will be sooner rather than later. I think the dream is like 90% dead. I feel really really awful about hitting that fucking bridge in Springfield Massachusetts. I asked my wife if she’d do it all over again knowing how it turned out- she said yes- but head home immediately upon wrecking RV. I needed the 3 or so weeks to figure out for myself this thing wasn’t salvageable. when I get home I promise to do a final post with journal of miles travelled, states visited, money spent etc. My goodness I had the right execution- just fucked up implementation, because I’m an idiot. If you ever think of doing something like this I can’t recommend it enough. Provided your relationship with your wife is rock solid and you can stand to be in the same room as your kids, and you have the ability to roll with the punches. feel like shit. But I’m happy to get out of staying at shorty hotel rooms across the upper plains. RV is so much better than all that. thanks to all her gave advice, wished me well, of pointed and laughed. there are two kinds of stories in this world- aspirational stories and cautionary tales. I hope this served as one or the other to all of you, and y’all can figure out which it was supposed to be.22 points

Fuck off you misogynistic shitbucket. Monica Lewinsky got nothing positive from her “dick sucking”. She was a punching bag and a punchline for decades. She did what thousands of young women have done throughout history - she stupidly fell under the thrall of a charismatic, powerful older man. She broke no laws. She did not gain ANYTHING from her experience. She didn’t profit; she didn’t get a cushy job, nothing. She actually couldn’t even get gainful employment for years because companies would see her name on her resume and bring her in for interviews with no intentions of even considering her, they just wanted to gawk and have a story to tell. She is now a powerful advocate, activist, and speaker for anti-bullying groups and does excellent and important work. No matter how much good she does in her life the first line in her obituary will be about her affair with Bill Clinton. Seriously, fuck you for putting Monica Lewinsky’s name in the same neighborhood as Melania Trump’s. Monica is 1,000 times the woman Melania is.21 points

The governor should immediately resign for allowing this to take place. People are dead and livelihoods ruined because he didn’t want extra help. But I’m sure the apologists are going to tell me that last nights violence was caused by the feds, just like in Portland.17 points

We said goodbye to Shelby today. She was 12.5 years old. She beat cancer this past year but unfortunately kidney failure was too much. She was a hell of a fighter and her vet oncologist said she’s a huge success story on the cancer front and plans to write her case up for the vet journals. She was sweet, friendly, gentle, playful. She liked walks, pets, car rides, swimming, fetch, hunting squirrels, and helping us cook. She greeted us at the door every time we came home and she snuggled up against me during the night. She was about as close to perfect as we could possibly ask for. I’ve had other great dogs and generally love most dogs but she really takes the cake for me. We got her as a puppy from a foster family. We always considered her a chocolate lab but assume she had a slight mix because she was small and her coat was incredibly soft. We submitted a DNA breed test to give us a little more info so we don’t always wonder. We’ll miss her terribly but once the sadness passes we’ll still have the good memories. Here’s a few pics from the years: So long my friend. Tell Dusty we said hi and I’ll throw the ball when I get there.13 points

It's interesting how the people who supposedly love capitalism and free enterprise the most get so upset when wealthy black men leverage capitalism and free enterprise to advance their causes. Good for all of the players. I'd be upset if they decided to sit out the rest of the season because the playoffs have been a great distraction and couch/beer-drinking activity during Covid. I would miss basketball big time. But if they do, I'll be proud of what they're doing. It's American as fuck.11 points

I AM SO FUCKING SICK OF THIS GODDAMN GUN NUTTERY CULTURE. I do not own a gun and probably never will. I'm not anti-gun rights either, but I am really fed up with the rampant glorification of macho gun-carrying crap by pseudo freedom fighters and their larpy crusades to proclaim their FREEDOMS. FUCK! /end rant neg me if you want11 points

But all of your energy -- all of it -- is spent criticizing those uppity negroes for daring to be pissed off about police brutality. They can't protest peacefully ("shut up and dribble!"). They can't commit peaceful civil disobedience ("don't block traffic!") They can't do anything, except sit there for your patronizing pat on the head (in private, apparently, because public demonstrations are disrespectful of America and the flag and the troops and our greatest president IN HISTORY, GREATER THAN LINCOLN EVEN) telling them "gosh, you're right, that IS bad, really sorry little fella".....while you happily enjoy and work to preserve the status quo. And you wonder why some people want to literally burn everything down. It's fucking enraging.11 points

if they were in fact people protecting their property and lively hood good, its time to take back the streets from this bullshit, you lose your right when you infringe on others. so if that car source video was a mob of folks going to light it up, you put the quarter in the machine and you got to dance fuck em11 points

The Magic should not boycott. Milwaukee is sending a very strong statement about something that happened in their state. IMO, it has a resounding impact if they actually accept a loss to make a point.9 points

so, yeah, it starts at home. but you seem to have missed the entire fucking point. the reason why black lives matter is a thing is because this country has not acted as though black lives matter. we've intentionally enacted policies that disenfranchise black people, give them jail and prison time at a high rate, even for minimal drug possession, segregated them into poor neighborhoods, among probably a dozen other things like getting pulled over for driving while black, and you wonder why they are angry? a cop shot a guy in the back for unclear reasons. in front of his children. in this day and age where cities are protesting because black lives matter, and now it's cool to be white and carrying an assault rifle at low ready while protests are happening around, and the cops throw him a bottle of water. meanwhile, black people are getting gunned down, choked out, assaulted by cops, and protesters are taking tear gas canisters to the head. when the system is set up to get you in the system, which it is for many many black folks, you learn to distrust and disrespect the system. why do you think this song was a thing? in 19fucking88. that's more than 30 fucking years ago, and how are things markedly different for black folks?9 points

the thing i do not understand is that we hold our troops, in a foreign fucking warzone, to a higher standard than we hold our cops, in our own fucking country. and people are fine with the whole idea of "well, he might be getting a gun, so i can shoot him, the math adds up." rules of engagement for cops in this country are ridiculously low.8 points

Lotsa vid clips in there, and it's hard to piece it all together. Here are my takeaways: 1) Those guys interviewed "defending" the gas station before the shooting said they're from out of town and came to help. Sounded like they didn't know their owner. They didn't strike me as idiot LARP'ers, and they sound sincere. But they're wrong. It's the owner's responsibility to defend his property. If he wants you there, he'll ask you. All they did was make it worse. 2) Not everyone rolling around in tach gear is an idiot Bugaloo/LARP'er. There are plenty of civilians with independent training and practice who are safe to defend businesses and property. If I had to defend my house, I'd look just like them. Body armor, AR15, backup weapon. I'm safe. Let's not lump all these guys together. 3) As per usual, it's hard to take sides over the events of last night. The guy who got shot might been a white supremacist. Mighta been an Antifa guy who faked it to cause trouble (he succeeded.) Or maybe he's just an ahole. Regardless, he'd be alive today if he'd stayed home. You can say that about most of the people hurt in these riots. Come early and protest then go home when it gets spicy. No matter how good your intentions, all the sides will use you as an example if you get hurt.8 points
