K'Rojhn my wayward son. the man is going to Kansas.32 points

I've listened to (at least) several hundred episodes of Rogan's podcast. I started listening regularly in 2015, probably up until the middle of 2020. I'm not some peanut gallery hater, but a long time fan that finally couldn't take it anymore. It definitely started as an organic thing - just a comedian and his buddies getting high and bullshitting on mics. But it's definitely morphed over the years. For a period of time, I really enjoyed it because the format was him bringing in some (usually) interesting person from all sorts of avenues of life and letting them talk without much interruption. It turned me on to a lot of awesome stuff. In the back half of Trump's first presidency, something really started to change. The frequency of political guests increased, and while he was still bringing in people from both sides of the aisle, when it was a left wing guest the conversation was mostly left wingers criticizing left wing bullshit. When he had right wing guests on, there was no critique of right wing bullshit - they just bagged on the left. He kept making nominal appeals to the idea that he's "basically a liberal", but kept repeating right wing talking points. He also started interjecting political bullshit into apolitical conversations. Some guest would crack a joke and and he'd go on a tangent about how "you can't say that you know? The left is trying to destroy you." It started to seem to me that he'd straight up taken a turn into being a full fledged right winger and was no longer providing an objective space to hear out both ends of an argument, but constructing an echo chamber. The move to Spotify, and him leaving California has pushed it completely into that corner. Once he started on his bullshit about the COVID vaccine, I punched out altogether. At this stage, he's basically Rush Limbaugh. Not that he's on that extreme, but he's just right wing talk radio that tells that crowd what they want to hear. It's a grift. It's not what he set out to do, but it's absolutely where he's at today, and he's printing fat stacks so I doubt it changes. He makes some good points (I mean, being healthier is a great fucking idea and we should place a higher emphasis on it) but he shreds his credibility hammering the vaccine while he takes fucking ivermectin. At this point, he just strikes me as a psuedo-intellectual clown. Back in the day, he rarely injected his opinion and when he did, made it clear he didn't know shit and was willing to consider alternative perspectives. Now he thinks he knows something. No dude, you are the dummy you always claimed to be.24 points

Per FCB. Look for former TCU coach Gary Patterson AND TCU defensive end Ochaun Mathis to become Longhorns this week.21 points

For fuck's sake, people, 7 is the number of additional class counters you can have if you have that many transfer out after the set date. That's it. As Fud said, you can have an entire class of transfers, which would be 32 if it's 25 plus the 7 additional. But if you have spots left over from the previous class you can go even higher than 32. The 25 limit is the number of players receiving grant-in-aid from your athletic program for the first time. They can be high school players, JUCO transfers, university transfers, it doesn't fucking matter. 25 is the baseline you can go past 25 to make up for any academically eligible players who transfer out (up to 7) you can take advantage of being under 25 in the previous class So technically the maximum number of transfers you can take in the 2022 class is 57 fucking transfers. 25 in the 2022 class, 7 for players who transfer out, 25 for the 2021 class if you didn't sign anyone. Now I'd say get back on topic but the current topic is Texas high school kids going to SEC schools because they couldn't get into Texas, so whatever.17 points

Kobie McKinzie was impressed with OU's current valuation of $18.73+ 3 buttons, some pocket lint, and a box of unused meth pipes. Also, another $675 for the recently re-built Sooner Schooner. The ponies belong to a carnival, so they don't count.11 points

Lot’s of talk about daughters attending SEC schools, and a disturbing lack of pics. Do better people.11 points

Apologies for interrupting this discussion with football talk but Marion just posted a video from Disch-Falk on his Instagram, so presumably one can conclude that Williams is visiting with the baseball team this morning.11 points

Yes, I am certain. Fud already handled the data supporting my original post and all of the other posts I've written dismissing the numbers discussion. You don't have a fucking clue. It's so fucking tedious to witness, too, because then you pummel the thread with insipid volume trying to guard your clueless takes. Just assume, when you have any doubt about your position in a discussion on this board, that your instincts are heinously incorrect and maybe you should just watch other people with a fucking clue help you better form your opinion on a matter. This isn't my advice to most folks, but it is incredible to me how exactly wrong you are repeatedly on a wide and varied array of subjects. ******** For anyone else worried about numbers: 1) No, the transfer "limit" isn't 7. If you consider yourself a reasonably intelligent person, spend 30 seconds thinking about the difference in a purported "ceiling" and a limit. If there was a 7 transfer "limit", it would have garnered a fuckton more news coverage than the moving of the cap did. Texas State's entire "recruiting" strategy in the last cycle was to fill the entire class with transfers. Had that rule suddenly changed, you would flat out know it. 2) There are so many workarounds and bureaucratic tricks that savvy staffs can pull off when fucking around with the caps that it makes the numbers flatly meaningless. I've said for 4 months that there were rumors about: a big attrition push + a maxed out class + the new ceiling of 7 more spots + the need for a roster overhaul, voiced by Sarkisian and the staff to friends of the program and people covering it = 35-40 new guys by August. That remains my view. It doesn't matter if you think the "cap" is 32, or if some nitwit spouting numbers on a recruiting podcast believes that. 3) Stop worrying about the fucking numbers.10 points

This is adorable that you idiots think calling us out for voting for Biden is some kind of insult. I don't give a fuck about Joe Fucking Biden. I'd like him to do a good job for the sake of the country, but my optimistic--but realistic--projection for him was that he'd go down as just another run-of-the-mill below average President. I don't have a cult-like obsession with the dude that I voted for; you should try it. You voted for a dude who's touring with a pillow salesman and playing all of the hits about fraud and dead voters OVER A YEAR FUCKING LATER. And an entire political party gladly plays along with the lies because it helps them push through voter suppression measures. The 2 or 3 that dare to tell the truth are ostracized. Both choices sucked, but, at this point, if you can't see that one was unequivocally worse for democracy than the other, you're hopeless.9 points

So, the complex economy and larger forces behind it are responsible for anything good that happens economically. I'm really not disagreeing with you on that, by the way. It's correct. But now do the same analysis for the bad things that happen economically (like supply chain issues and inflation). You can do it.8 points

And there's a perfectly good reason for that: They cannot defend their positions on the merits. If they could do that, oh they definitely would do that. If Rogan didn't have anything to hide, and if he were an actual man, he would invite one of those doctors on his show for a two way conversation with a single standard. But Rogan doesn't do that, largely because when it comes to topics like this one, he's only interested in one-way conversation with double standards, and it's precisely because he doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. It's an eminently ignorable con.8 points

My daughter has decided to attend Alabama next year. She has great grades but not good enough to get into Texas like her brother. She doesn't want to go to A&M, Tech, UTSA etc. She was accepted to TCU and seriously considered it but Alabama wants her enough that they are giving her a $60k scholarship, accepted her into their honors college and into the program where she gets a bachelor and MBA in 5 years. My sister in law who lives in the Frisco/Prosper area says a large chunk of those grads head east to the SEC schools and two of her kids went to Alabama.7 points

Hudson Card shit the bed repeatedly when given ample opportunity to take the reins of leading the Texas football program on the field. He choked. He didn't just choke against Arkansas. I mean, the whole team and staff choked at Arkansas with one of the worst game plans on both sides of the ball in recent P5 history. So Card shit himself in that game and looked like a gaping vagina, but so did everyone else. No, Card pulled the same bitchass shit in other games. Card's Kansas appearance sealed it for me. This is a guy that needs to not be in the spotlight. He'll look awesome after he transfers to Bum Fuck University. I expect nothing better if he's moved to WR. If you can't keep your shit together under the bright lights and crave the moment, it doesn't matter what position you're playing. If they're going to be a big dog, they'll always bite you as a pup. That isn't Tiny Hands. The staff hyped the guy all summer. "He's got it all!" and then guys like Michael Huff were sprinting around to their neighbors claiming that Card "is a dude". Only one problem. Let's see how he handles the role between the lines on national tv. Whoops. He's not a dude, he's a dud. I'm sure @RomaVicta will dutifully keep us updated on his career as he sets school records leading New Mexico/Colorado State/Eastern Washington/UTSA to new heights and a solid 8-4 record in the WAC. I can't wait to hear the gentle sobbing coming in through the monitor as he and others lament not giving the guy 3 seasons of patience to hit his "ceiling" at Texas.7 points
