  6. Apparently, overnight someone took control of Trump's legal defense fund website. As of this moment, it has not been restored https://patriotlegaldefensefund.com Here's the archived version of the site: https://web.archive.org/web/20230803025233/https://patriotlegaldefensefund.com/ And here's the announcement of the website's existence in late July: https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-team-launching-legal-defense-fund-pay-legal/story?id=101856623

  8. Isn't he still selling pet rocks to the deplorables? No, that would be like Epstein all over again. If he dies a lot of these cases go away or lose steam. He needs to be alive for the public, so this can have some closure. Otherwise, he comes off as the persecuted martyr for too many if the cases dropped. "Crooked Biden hounded the best president ever to an early grave with those witch hunts." Sure didn't hurt the Sackler family to be uber wealthy. I know they are paying financially, but getting out of criminal charges against anyone is insane. I think Trump and his asskissers all figured Trump's money and name would protect them from anything serious.

  9. On OL recruiting: - Our 2022 class was clearly elite. Cristobal leaving was a major catalyst for Banks and Williams flipping, but we took advantage and ended up with a great combination of quality and numbers. - Since then, we have taken 7 recruits; 5 in 2023, and 2 in 2024. - Of those 7, - 5 out of 7 are ranked outside the top 400 in the country - the other two are #193 and #240 (Chatman and Cruz) - Goosby and Cruz in particular are held in high regard; they're considered under ranked. That may well be true, but I wouldn't apply those labels (under ranked, diamonds in the rough) to the entire position group - also, when I looked at the list of offers we have out to OL in this class, - we only have 19 total offers out; 12 to OTs, and 7 to IOL - of those 19, 17 are committed to other schools - the only recruits - 2 - who are still uncommitted? Baker and Carter - so, yeah, the stakes are even higher than they would be, with two highly ranked prospects. But land these guys = especially Baker - and lordy lordy .... Edit: Wiltfong added this in a thread yesterday.

  10. Right now, there's exactly one choice that doesn't bend the knee to MAGA and the latest conspiracy theory du jour. Just one. The other side is far from perfect--no, your problems aren't going to be solved immediately by changing sides--but you probably don't have to worry about attempted coups by the dumbest people alive when you vote for them. Find me the principled conservative who openly rejects Trumpism, doesn't care about Hunter Biden or the Clinton family, isn't fighting for even less gun restrictions, doesn't want to ban books, thinks forcing women to carry unwanted pregnancies isn't sustainable, wants the LGTBQ community to have the same rights as you have, and acknowledges the very real threat of climate change. If they exist, they'd have my vote. But they've already been ostracized from the party because the GOP--and its voters--don't want principles right now. They want conspiracies and anger.

  23. slorch now rejects Trump (good job, buddy!) but votes for Ted Cruz, who has Trump's dick so far down his throat that he volunteered to be the lawyer arguing that stupid election lawsuit in Dec 2020 before the Supreme Court (understanding full well that there would be no oral arguments, but he knows his voters are fucking morons, so whatevs). Who is the example that Tubberville is following now. Who threw his kids under a bus to excuse his Cancun trip. Whose only principle is self-ambition. All because Beto made a stupid comment about guns. I've said this before, but Texas voters crack me up, and slorch is the quintessential example. For a Democrat to possibly win in Texas, he/she has to be a lifelong Texan, not come from money, be an outdoorsman/hunter, constantly remind people that they believe in the 2nd, never waffle even slightly on a single issue, and portray a perfect family life. For a Republican to win in Texas, a Canadian just has to throw on a cowboy hat and some boots, hold a fishing reel backwards, and say woke a lot.

It is always facinating when people turn on thier computer (developed in large part by tax payer funded research) using power (provided by power plants largely paid for and subsidized by tax payers) to use the internet (developed and subsidized by tax payers) to log onto a web site devoted to alumni of The University of Texas (an institution founded, developed, and sustained largely through tax payers) to claim that they don’t in any way benefit from taxes.

  30. I find it stunning how flat out ignorant these LSU posters are, but I really shouldn't. When LSU people showed up before the 2019 game, they were some of the dumbest posters this site has ever seen, and that's quite an accomplishment given all of the other drive-by morons and native idiots we already have around here. The state of Louisiana has a known issue with "brain drain". They have had local and state-level working sessions on addressing it, and they view it as a crisis. People with high scores and grades leave as soon as they can after high school, and those too stupid to get into colleges elsewhere then attend LSU and then immediately leave for Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta. These people likely know this. Yet they somehow can't fathom why intelligent athletes would look around and say "Yeah, fuck this, I'm going to a good college like Texas or Florida." Beyond that, LSU, a johnny-come-lately to the higher ranks of college football talking shit about Texas' background in the sport is laughable. It's funny, now that Texas doesn't have to sit back and watch all of the SEC fuckfaces along with Clemson, Oregon, FSU, USC and Ohio State just fucking buy the best athletes from Texas and the south, I wonder how long it is going to take for Texas be playing at a high level again? Their failure to fathom the eroded competitive advantage that they've enjoyed since Nick Saban showed up in 2000 and put their bag game on steroids is one of the more entertaining things about watching these past few cycles. I've said it many times, but I'll say it again for the people in the back and because it feels good - now you get to learn what it looks like when Texas decides it has a payroll to meet, fuckers.
