I had posted a note about Vodney Cleveland. (#52 overall, 247Sports, OVing June 13th to Texas. Quote: "I would say Florida and Texas have really separated themselves," Cleveland said.) There was note on the Georgia site - included the quote above, nothing particularly new. The Georgia mod's response to a post in the thread after the note, below.24 points

A phrase keeps popping up. It prevents me from feeling sympathy. “Everything right.” “The right way.” ”We did everything right, we worked and tried to save money.” ”She did everything right and tried to immigrate by the rules.” ”I did everything right, I wasn’t a lazy government worker, I was doing an important job.” No acknowledgment that they got duped. Of course no reflection that they let emotions and frustration overcome human decency. No, the complaint is simply that the cruelty missed the target. They just want someone with better aim. Fuck them. Stay out there on the wrong end of the shooting range.18 points

Listen guys, I enjoy blowjobs from supermodels as much as the next guy, and after having a decade plus of zero female contact, or at best maybe a dry handy from a fat desperate neighbor, sure, this all feels great. But having to just roll over and yawn before fucking whatever 10 I want has sort of, I don't know...taken away the whole excitement involved with the chase? It's kind of souring the whole situation for me. Anyone else?18 points

Correct. Sharp exposed bone, group attacks aiming for the eyes and leg muscles, the silverback goes down eventually. If it were 100 posters from this board, I assume the dumbest gasbags go first. When the gorilla shreds spider2ybanana limb from limb and you all shriek in horror, I'm sprinting for that dude's exposed femur and then whittling that thing to a fine point while we send wave after wave of BO&W, Steamboat, futureman, and numerous other dipshits in as tiring fodder. Then we riot. I'd ride in on @SydneyCarton's shoulders in sort of a Master Blaster Thunderdome approach.16 points

I think this deserves its own thread for discussion for now and going into the future as I think this is the beginning of a trend. https://www.on3.com/teams/texas-longhorns/news/texas-athletics-totaled-331-9-million-in-revenue-in-fy-2024-thanks-to-the-most-profitable-football-program-in-the-sec/ Beyond the title, which is not inflated or bullshit. Texas Football by itself was responsible for over 204M in revenue and the next closest SEC school was sub 150M. Football by itself operated with a 139M surplus. Absolutely fucking staggering numbers.15 points

Ain't that the truth Teddy R is rolling over in his grave. He'd pop out and beat the shit out of the modern day Republicans if he could.14 points

By all strategic measures the United States was the victor of the war. It emerged with the fewest losses, the most credibility, and it built a world order and economy that benefited itself and attracted the wealthiest and most valuable allies to its side. The “losers” on the battlefield aligned themselves with the United States, accepted its primacy and even internalized the values and principles it espoused as their own. The Soviet Army defeated the German army on the battlefield. It gained sullen and deeply antagonistic territory ruled by brittle puppet regimes. The choices it made in the wake of its battlefield victory discredited its ideology and hegemony and directly led to its eventual destruction as the USSR and the collapse of its influence and prestige. To bring it back to Trump’s America, for some reason a big chunk of our country has adopted alien Russian pathologies and neuroses as their own and has decided to surrender complete American victory for no reason other than petulance and a poisoned information environment.14 points

Two years ago in June, the commencement speech at Northwestern University contained this gem: "The best way to spot an idiot, look for the person who is cruel. Let me explain. When we see someone who doesn't look like us, or sound like us, or act like us, or love like us, or live like us, the first thought that crosses almost everyone's brain is rooted in either fear or judgement or both. That's evolution. We survived as a species by being suspicious of things that we aren't familiar with. In order to be kind, we have to shut down that animal instinct and force our brain to travel a different pathway. Empathy and compassion are evolved states of being. They require the mental capacity to step past our most primal urges. This may be a surprising assessment because somewhere along the way in the last few years, our society has come to believe that weaponized cruelty is part of some well-thought out Master plan. Cruelty is seen by some as an adroit cudgel to gain power. Empathy and kindness are considered weak. Many important people look at the vulnerable only as rungs on a ladder to the top. I'm here to tell you that when someone's path through this world is marked with acts of cruelty, they have failed the first test of an advanced society. They never forced their animal brain to evolve past its first instinct. They never forged new mental pathways to overcome their own instinctual fears. And so their thinking and problem solving will lack the imagination and creativity that the kindest people have in spades. Over my many years in politics and business, I have found one thing to be universally true. The kindest person in the room is often the smartest."12 points

Also "worked our whole lives" and that profile pic don't really match. She looks maybe 30? Plus still having student loans would indicate she's fairly young. No idea why they are both disabled, probably a scam that needs to be investigated by DOGE's top men.11 points

Plus a couple more private ski areas to be developed most likely. I'll get a little CR here, but rather fascinating that the first national parks (Yellowstone was the very first I believe) were signed off on by a Republican president (Grant), and later promoted further by another Republican president (Teddy R) and large swaths of the Teton Range were purchased by a private capitalist (John D Rockefeller Jr) and then donated to add more conservation land to those parks (Yellowstone and Grand Teton) in Wyoming. It sorta puts the conserve in conservatism to do so and yet, here we are forgetting the roots of why capitalism eventually eats its own and conservatives and the GOP are no longer in the same tent.11 points

I think people are more often ignoring him and that's part of why he's become an even worse poster. He's getting a bit less of the attention he craves, so he's increasingly embraced maga and more often flings personal insults among other things.10 points

Do you predict that it's good or bad that this is even being floated as a proposal? Trump: "Hey, I propose we rape every woman in the United States!" Drebin: "I bet he won't really rape anyone, so this is no big deal." Just. The fucking proposal. Is so far out of fucking bounds that he should be run out of town on a rail. Truly, this is what I fucking love the most about all of the apologists: "Sure, they PROPOSE doing awful and inexcusable things, but sometimes they don't follow through, so why should we worry about any of it?" How much of a pathetic simp can you be?9 points
