In summary: Charlie Kirk was killed by a furry meme bullet fired by a 4chan-poisoned groyper while working a race-baiting dog whistle into an argument about trans mass shooters. Everyone got it?21 points

There you have it. Note how I have referenced some "radicals on the right," like the mass-murdering shooters in El Paso, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh? And our local MAGA defenders here said "nobody is celebrating them?" The president....Of the entire United States...Just said in plain English that those people -- who openly stated that their motivation was immigration, crime....pretty much the laundry list he JUST SAID in that clip -- are not a problem. Right wing radicals motivated by rhetoric on immigration, crime, and the like -- which 100% includes men who murdered 22 brown people, 9 black people, and 11 jewish people (and there are several others I'm not listing here) -- are not a problem, because he AGREES WITH THEIR MOTIVES/PURPOSE. Signed, YOUR POTUS Defend that. Anyone. Defend it. Go ahead, step up, this is your guy.19 points

Let me explain. . . . No, there is too much. Let me sum up. Buttercup is marry Humperdinck in little less than half an hour. So all we have to do is get in, break up the wedding, steal the princess, make our escape... after I kill Count Rugen.18 points

If the Democrats don’t seize on the fact that this was right wing nut on right wing nut crime, and at least attempt to hold Trump/maga/GOP accountable for their game on the Jump To Conclusions mat, they are fucking up royally (which would be no surprise). I knew this motherfucker was gonna be a right wing piece of shit as soon as Trump got asked about Kirk and immediately was like “look at that truck!” instead of talking about the evil left or talking about himself. The motherfuckers.17 points

This is a good time to remember that when you see someone say something that makes you angry or is trying to incite you to anger (either your “side” or the other “side”), there’s a good chance that the “person” saying it may be a bot/troll working for another country trying to destabilize us. Or, it’s a real person who has been radicalized by the same fake anger. A few years back, Russian trolls manufactured both a protest and counter protest in Houston over a mosque. Real people, with real thoughts and feelings, had their thoughts and feelings manipulated, distorted, and amplified by Russian trolls. And they were convinced to show up and yell at one another. At least several years ago, the majority of the most popular “Christian” Facebook pages were Eastern European troll farms. If you go to Reddit or facebook and see a constant push of antagonism, there’s most certainly a mix of real people and trolls/bots pushing the real people further away from sanity. Fear, anger, distorting of reality. Everyone is facing this constant push of manipulation towards anger. Charlie Strong may have struggled with the coin toss, but his analysis of our culture was prescient.17 points

Lol, an "anonymous" friend characterizing him as "leftist" as a high school sophomore, which would be something like 6 years ago? That seals it. Solid detective work there, Lou.16 points

No one is spiking the football yet. We've had 2 days of right wingers (including national politicians!) implying the shooter was a tranny leftist. What we actually know so far counters their dangerous rhetoric towards marginalized people. It's ok to shove this shit back in their face.16 points

I can't wait to watch all the chest thumping at Patel's FBI, when in reality they just answered the phone when the dad called in. "Yeah my son did it. He's in his room. Come get him."15 points

This is the problem.... You and I feel that way but to a much larger chunk of Americans than we would like to admit, he did. This is what I keep coming back too... Most Americans aren't paying attention to what inanity comes out of Kirk and Trump's mouths every day. The media only play the 20 second sound bites where they says something sort of in-line with normal. In Kirk's case, I used to think that they didn't know his positions but now I know they. They knew enough about Charlie Kirk to support him and his positions. I said this is an another thread but I used to be able to at least understand some of those who voted for Trump as "I've always voted GOP" or that Republicans are more pro-business or would "fix" immigration. It is pretty evident that isn't the case. They want a President who spews vile words. They want to be told what to do and are OK with authoritarianism. And the outpouring of grief from so many on the right, not just talking heads, but regular people has me convinced that there are just too many that are OK with the racism and misogyny and the move to authoritarianism. The NFL having a moment of silence last night... Kirk's body being taken to Phoenix on AF2 (whatever happened to waste, fraud and abuse)... A commentator losing his job for comments that were not incendiary and certainly far less egregious than things that have come from Kirk and GOP leadership over the past 10 years. These got thumbs up from a lot of people on the right. There is a dark undercurrent in American conservatives that isn't going to get fixed. The right has spent the last 48 hours declaring war on those who don't support Trump and his cause. They are spewing bile about how terrible to left is. I'm just perplexed at where we are. It, whatever it is, is broken and I don't think there's a solution. There's no deprograming to to do. This country is populated by too many who don't like those not like them. Whether that is LGBTQ, minorities, liberals, whatever. I used to look at Texags or SECRant posters and think (or maybe hope) that it really was a small undercurrent of Americans. It's not. This is America.15 points

So Anastasis, does this qualify as someone who was politically obsessed and killed Kirk because Kirk told truths in the public square, and he had to be stopped? Or just another angry, online, shit for brains kid radicalized by alt, edgelord online communities? In the same vein as a very long line of other shooters.14 points

The guy who shot up that Catholic school in Minneapolis (I think, I lose track of these shootings) filmed himself shortly before. He had all sorts of things written on his weapons and it was all over the map politically. Mostly, he just wanted to kill kids. I wouldn’t expect a coherent worldview from too many shooters, especially since they tend to be young. This stupid game where whenever something like this happens, we hope or try to push that the person is on the other side of us is pure madness. No one actually wins points when people are murdered. It’s all part of one big stupid, destructive machine.14 points

I wonder where the guy who went to El Paso and murdered 22 brown people got HIS ideas.... I find it FASCINATING that y'all are....today....concerned about violence-inciting political rhetoric. Quite interesting indeed. I wonder why that is?13 points

Unreal to see an AF2 transport with a military honor guard. The complete collapse of “service to country” into “service to MAGA.” Most vet funerals do not get the full guard, it’s usually just two service members to fold the flag. And watching the full VIP transport: there used to be an office in the State Department to assist family members with the unreal awfulness of the death of a government employee in service overseas. Repatriation of remains, effects, household, paperwork, autopsies. It was closed and everyone fired in July.13 points
