  1. This team is going to struggle mightily to guard the perimeter. We can see this coming from a mile away, right?
  2. I know they gave him his initial contract, but this time around, Bron gave Bron 50Ms. That whole situation is hilarious to me. LAs roster wasn’t winning anything in the west and then lose the, per media fucks, the best 3rd option in the league. LA is trying to be in rebuild around Luka mode. So in true Bron fashion, realizing the team isn’t about him anymore, takes his player option, putting 50 million handcuffs on the front office and has Rich put out a passive aggressive trade request. Now you’ll start to see guys like Nick Wright question the league cause “how can no one pick up the greatest player evarrrre?!!” All this only week(s) after Bron sits on a podcast talking about how weird ring culture is and it doesn’t matter to him lmfao The fact of the matter is, not one single contender for a title gets better adding him. OKC, Cleveland, Houston, NY, Denver are probably your top 5 chances next season. You aren’t getting Bron without a big contract moving plus young pieces or draft stock. OKC could do it, in theory, but are coming off a 68 win championship run with every single player that played significant minutes returning. And Presti isn’t a moron.
  3. With the news that Guervil is going to commit to Florida being confirmed by Bobby this morning, I wonder if this place can handle the caterwauling we’re all about to experience.
  4. I mean the Bucks aren’t going to do better than Alpi and the Suns+Nets+Mavs picks. The Spurs will refuse to include Lavell in the deal.
  5. TOR

Worth it. Well, this is an excellent show so far and I'm glad I watched it, although it can be kind of slow in parts. I was not expecting Manuel and Antonio to be taken down so expeditiously. Then I expected them to team up with Jimenez from prison and be a problem. Then I was really not expecting Andy Garcia to take out Jimenez. What is Ainsley's purpose, other than to be hyper-sexualized super-annoying eye candy? At least Cooper is trying to do something with himself. All she did was attend a strip club with senior citizens, and it wasn't even her idea. Send her off to Tech and make the character recurring, at most. What is the deal with Billy Bob having annoying TV daughters? Don Draper was taken out pretty quick as well; guess 2 leading men is 1 too many, or they needed screen minutes for Andy. It looks like cartel financing is going to be a big part of Tommy and Cami's gamble in season 2. Hope this show doesn't get Goliath'd going forward.
  6. The TexasOne announcement (going for-profit, not rolling into AD, maintaining flexibility while seeing how the system develops) is encouraging
  7. I mean, you could also just look it up in traditional mainstream media. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/iran-says-usual-cooperationith-un-nuclear-watchdog-cannot-go-forward-due-2025-06-30/
  8. I really wish they'd stop trying to make Glen Powell happen. He's as milquetoast as they come. All I could think of how much better that line "I'm going burn this whole building down" would be if the roles were reversed and it was delivered by Josh Brolin.
  9. So, I've been researching this every single day for going on two weeks. I'll eat crow and admit I am changing my tune. My MIL recently passed away and my wife inherited all her assets. Since we want to minimize taxes on the inherited retirement funds, she is moving her mom's retirement to an inherited IRA. You have to drain it completely within 10 years but can do it on any schedule you like. We are putting a nice chunk in SPYI so that we can enjoy that dividend income. We will use it to offset my daughter's out of state tuition, which aligns perfectly with what my MIL would like since she was an instructor at ACC. SPYI dividends are also qualified so they're at the 15% rate which is also nice. When we retire in 6-7 years, we will not draw our own retirement until she cashes in the inherited IRA to minimize our total income and taxes those first couple of years.
  10. Fourth year on Kornet is a team option so it's a slight overpay but not a bad contract overall. They desperately needed another big. They were getting bullied in the paint when Vic was out and even when he was in. Let someone else go bang with Zubac and Jokic and Stephen Adams and Hartenstein, etc. I would really like to see them sign Yabusele. He can play some at the 5 and is also another big body at 4. Kornet + Yabusele + Harper + Bryant would be a pretty stellar off season. If they could find another shooter, that would be the cherry on top but I think they're running out of roster spots unless they start churning some of the more seasoned homegrown talent.
  11. So, if we get three of four from Sarandon, Graham, Biel, and Fox, we'll have a top 3 class?
  12. I’m curious about Turntine and Ojo. Gerry has more than once made a comment along the lines of “Let’s see if they will both go to the same school”.
  13. I don’t normally but I watched quite a bit of News Nation (Brian Entin’s station with Dan Abrams formerly of MSNBC) last night. They have done excellent coverage on this case. 1. The parents are indeed split with the Goncalves family being the most vocal and wanting both the trial and him to be executed. Xana’s family also wanted a trial. The two other sets of family members appear to be ok with this deal. All four sets of parents had basically been saving up money to live in Idaho for the trial. All four sets have felt that the state has been adversarial with them. They have all been under a gag order for almost the entirety of this case. The DA floated the idea of a plea at the end of a meeting with the parents on Friday. Then the next day they received an email with the plea deal and an attached letter with the DA writing he felt they would all be pleased with this as it would spare them the gruesome details of the trial and spare them years of appeals. He will never get out. 2. it would have been impossible to please all four sets of parents, but he will plead guilty if the Judge accepts the deal, and admit to killing all four and waive his rights to any appeals and die in prison. Which given the uncertainty of appeals and any antics at trial is more than most family members in other cases get. 3. If he pleads guilty to murdering all four he’s a fucking monster. No different from the fictional Michael Myers in Halloween. Many people believe that Maddie was the target. He had no idea that Kaylee was also in her room. Intended to sneak into the house and sexually assault and murder Maddie and it turned into a blood bath. I struggle with my feelings on the Death Penalty but do believe in it for cases like this one and at the very least his fear of being put down caused him to take this plea. like others have mentioned: the state tore down the house. This I felt like could be an appealable issue along with multiple challenges about the DNA genealogy site and his expectation of privacy on how they connected him to the knife sheath. The defense had already requested yet another delay in this case last week which was denied and I had every expectation the defense would try multiple shenanigans at trial to get a mistrial. And further push back the process. And it did feel as though the state just wants all this shit to go away. Their approach to this case has been almost reluctant like they didn’t want to be there. If you can’t get all gung ho about keeping a quadruple murderer who took a selfie right after the killings and was already on Amazon looking to replace his knife when can you? pretty much agree with most of what y’all have said. At the end of the day he will die in jail and have admitted guilt, I just feel he’s better suited to target practice as he will offer nothing in this life and imo cannot be rehabilitated. He’s just a place holder of a human being.
  14. Leave it to a Baylor football player to not listen when we all just want him to stop.
  15. I know shit about fuck, but I can speculate. -The House settlement: for 10-20 programs, this limits what they will pay players. For the rest of FBS, it requires them to pay their players more than they had been. (Note- this money comes from the AD and I’ll bet every AD, not just OU’s, has to sweat to varying degrees to come up with it). -The surprising thing to me is how rarely we are seeing pissant programs, now required to budget $15-17M for players, sign blue chips. -I suspect Texas is being outbid by programs ready to challenge the limits of the NIL Clearinghouse. Such challenges are a solid bet. -I think the Texas program doesn’t want to back from competition. I don’t think the Tower is likely to force them to do so, as happened under Cunningham. If the Tower does, we will know when we see Sark take another job. (Not saying that is the only reason he would leave, but there is no way he is going to allow himself to become David MacWilliams or late term Akers) -If these recruitments are about NIL, then it’s smart to wait until the end for your final bid. All the other cards are laid down, you know the cost, you know the other player options, you know more about the recruit, and you have a sense of where regulation of rules is.
  16. What, no "Poop Cruise" yet? If you liked the Fyre Fest stuff, you'll probably enjoy it. I didn't think it was as/that good. Maybe because this one is more "there but for the grace of God go I" or because there just weren't as many spoiled and hateable people involved. Less schadenfreude. They try to play up a cruise line conspiracy angle, but it falls flat. It just seems like this is what would happen if a cruise ship's engines and electrical systems fail in the middle of the ocean, and it could happen again tomorrow and would play out the same way. So think hard about whether you want to board a ship with 4000 other assholes who are all full of shit.
  17. Some new reporting overnight: https://apnews.com/article/coeur-dalene-idaho-shooting-firefighters-024d26274e0faacec1687f6dde789ced COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho (AP) — A man who started a wildfire and then fatally shot two firefighters and wounded another in northern Idaho was a 20-year-old transient who attacked the first responders after they asked him to move his vehicle, a sheriff said Monday. Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris offered new details about the Sunday confrontation at Canfield Mountain, just north of Coeur d’Alene, a popular recreation area. He said Wess Roley was living out of his vehicle, had once aspired to be a firefighter and had only a handful of minor contacts with area police. “We have not been able to find a manifesto,” the sheriff said, adding a motive was still unknown. Norris said families of the victims are “in shock — absolutely. They’re in shock and they’re still processing it.” ... Roley had set a fire using flint, and the firefighters who rushed to the scene instead found themselves under fire. They took cover behind fire trucks. “There was an interaction with the firefighters,” Norris said. “It has something to do with his vehicle being parked where it was.”
  18. The Suns are probably going to sign Chris Paul and they’re working towards super maxing Booker. I’m speechless. The Lakers have to be hunting Ayton right? He should be cheap, he won’t cost anything to acquire, he’s somewhat of a name, and oh yeah he plays center.
  19. The Big Balls vs Ted Cruz Texas R primary is going to be amazing!
  20. I'm going to rescue Santos and ask him if he wants Casa Ole' tacos or pepperoni pizza with terrible looking crust. I'll grab whichever he chooses and tell him "earn this" like at the end of Saving Private Ryan.
  21. I don’t want to step out of line here, but… Your wife sounds like she sucks. With all due respect, you sound like an idiot PW knows of what PW speaks. I’ve been to Paris twice, but those two visits were in the ‘90s. I am going again for a week starting this Saturday and I am contemplating adding a few days before I’m supposed to arrive on Saturday or after I’m supposed to leave next Saturday, because I am bouncing around Europe on a Eurail pass for a couple of months. ”5 Days in Paris is Enough” 🤌🤌🤌 Who is the budget Instagram influencer that you’re following who preaches that? This trip I will definitely see: •Versailles (I have done the gardens, but lack of planning and need to deposit a 💩 cut my visit early) •Pompidou •Musee d’Orsay (again) •The Louvre (again) •Wine tasting •Chocolate tasting •Escargot on the left bank (again) •Panthéon •Hôtel des Invalides (maybe) •Roland Garros 🎾 (gift shop and/or tour) •Sacre Coeur (again) •Cemetery (that is over the top) •Compare & Contrast Pain au Chocolate et Croissant •Crépes avec Nutella … and more.
  22. Just the dumbest group of Americans in our history. These people really bring the unintentional laughs. They go to sleep stupid and wake up dumber than they were the day before.
  23. Heh. Go look at who wrote the screenplay... and see what that same guy has done lately. Great movie. Here's my latest additions: * Mortal Kombat * Heavy Metal
  24. we need coachable power hitting prospects.
  25. Game theory guys said Jabari’s contract will be ascending not evenly spread out. In two years his cap number will only be $21 million and go up from there
