Just had a bat fly into the house through the fireplace, was able to trap it with robe and get it out through window.

Just went and closed our damper

Maybe you shouldn't shine this inside your house.

Just a matter of time until that asshole Rufus shows up and starts bombing the rest of the hummingbirds that dare to try it, and occasionally even you and your wife.

Had quite a workout this afternoon….. an hour and a half in the dentist’s chair while he was grinding away  on two of my molars for the temporary crowns.
Jaw is still numb as a politician’s brain.

(wrong thread, but will leave it here anyway)

Just realized I’ve been ordering my fried eggs all wrong my whole life. I always thought I was an over-easy guy. Lately been thinking the bacon and sausage doesn’t sop up all the yolk and feels like you need a spoon like it’s egg drop soup on my plate afterwards. Decided to try over-medium and it was deliciously and gloriously the perfect amount of runny yolk to white ratio.

I feel like a new man. I’m 66 years old, don’t ever let anyone tell you that an old dog can’t learn a new trick!

Coffee, leave the pot. Two eggs, up. Biscuits, grits. Extra bacon.

Not at all. I’m on a strict Keto diet to address some inflammation issues that were contributing to some debilitating claustrophobia. A nice side effect is that I’ve dropped about 20 lbs and every single bio marker is massively improved.

I eat more bacon than I ever have before.

We're at the restaurant, and I order a Pizza Port Blonde Ale. After finishing it, the waitress asked, "Do you wanna do another blonde or are you OK?"

After she left the table, I told my daughter, "I guess we're just not doing phrasing any more."

My daughter looked at me blankly and asked, "What's 'Phrasing?'"

I live on a short street, less than 75 houses, but for some reason have a 5 digit address.

No idea how street numbering works but it certainly seems unnecessary. The street doesn't extend into any other part of town. No other street in town with same or similar name.

And I'd like to charge the city for lost time in typing out my address.

Cities in the U.S. use several different systems for addresses. In Houston, the address is generally determined by the distance from downtown.  Even if you live on a short street, the addresses are usually the same as those of parallel streets nearby.  From the City of Houston Addressing and Street Guidebook

There is no grid system used in addressing at the City of Houston, the complexity of the addressing prevents it. The City does work in an outward motion when addressing. As you move away from central Houston the addresses will become larger. Generally starting addresses in new subdivisions or existing subdivisions are generated from existing or parallel addresses. Under normal situations addresses continue from existing ranges with 1 off of the lower range so that there is room to add an address. It is practice to always assign a buffer of 2 or 3 to the beginning and end of a block for future development. If it is a completely new area, you use the block grid pattern of parallel streets to determine what to use and to determine centerline directionality.

Power providers also can issue an address.  It all about the money.

I walked into Popeyes for lunch today. Three different Michaels had placed three different mobile orders.

My house was wrapped by a group of 8th grade boys last night. Didn’t know that ever happened anymore. I had to laugh as that was a peak 90s activity.

Still somewhat common in my neighborhood, thankfully.

Younger kids also dingdong ditch.

But they were all good.

The Popeye's nearest to me is terrible. Everything there is dry, overcooked, poorly trimmed... I think they even skimp on the seasoning.

Even their biscuits are dry and stale.

I expect better from that place.

Are there a bunch of white people working there?

Kearny Mesa, San Diego.

I have no idea what the people who gave it 5-star reviews ate. My only guess is that they ate at a different Popeye's and put their review on this one by mistake.

Love or hate it, globalization blows my mind.

Take my Norelco shaver, for example. Solid as heck, had it for 30 years. On the back, it says "Made in Holland."

Now my son has a much newer Norelco, a special edition Star Wars version from when Episode 7 came out. THAT one says "Made in the Netherlands."

But to top it all off, the parent company Philips is a Dutch company!

Just blows my mind how the same product can be made in 2 different countries for a company based in a third.

Hit up McDs for break tonight and customer ahead of me starts getting a bit irate over his wait, when I walked in there was a young girls softball team in there so I imagined things got a little crazy. The ol boy starts cussing and dropping “bro” & “bra” on Mgr and getting louder, girls had left by then. Gets his food and still behaving like a child towards crew/mgr so I step in between them and tell him you got your food now go, bro. Think he was a bit taken back. Get back to work and find they fucked up my order, I should hunt that man down and apologize to him.

Was given the enviable task of cleaning out our break room cabinets and drawers found many items that had expired as far back as 2018. One thing I found interesting was a can of Great Value Peas… who the fuck brings a can of peas to work?

I like peas but can’t imagine eating a can for breakfast.

PS: we’ve yet to start back up production from the fire early last month, eta may be middle to end of next month.

PSS: fuck any asshole wanting to send Brown people back over the border. These people with Fire Restoration and such work hard and efficiently.

Last night I got my 4th wedding invitation for an October celebration. Jesus fucking christ....

No joke. Every weekend that month someone I know is getting married. Thankfully the wedding I care the most about is on the Sunday after the shootout.

So I am at the airport with my boss and his boss calls me.   Said “can you talk alone.  We’re gonna fire ______ and you will take his place. “. I’m staring at the guy as these words are being uttered.
I am more sad than happy.  Not sure how to process.

Not an actual tarmac as they will fire him when he lands

1.) Ball moss.

I know it’s not killing my oaks… but it sure does look like it sometimes.

Cant wait until the brutal heat of July / August when I’m allowed to trim branches b/c I’m too poor to afford tree trimming.

2.) Tree trimming quotes.
