May 18, 2025May 18 I’m stunned they went 1-5 down the stretch. After winning the series against LSU, they had to think they were in. Then one of the worst teams in SEC history swept them at fucking home. The NIL hostage payoffs won’t save them again. There will be a mass exodus after the SEC Tournament. May 19, 2025May 19 Popular Post Lulz. Another gem from Tarp, on Niblack. Oh, sure, he threw in a couple of positives (full note in the spoilered section), but here are a few excerpts. (They're exact quotes, other than a few instances of bolding/italicizing.) - "Niblack is not explosive off of the line of scrimmage" - "or necessarily that elusive" - "We didn't hear or see much from Niblack in the spring" - "as he was overshadowed by the other players at position for various reasons." (Lulz) - "He has been limited in terms of the number of snaps" - "and also the way he has been used since he hasn't been much of a run blocker" - "(either in quantity or quality)" - "or played much on special teams." - "Niblack could serve as an upgrade in that regard as an intermediate receiver" - "who can perhaps turn medium sized gains into big ones" - "and perhaps even be a weapon in the red zone," - "and is better able to use him in a way that is more akin to the skills he possesses." 2025 Texas A&M football roster profile...TE Amari Niblack could help the Aggies' downfield passing game Tarp (Aggie 247) Spoiler 2025 Texas A&M football roster profile...TE Amari Niblack could help the Aggies' downfield passing game Tarp (Aggie 247) Former Texas and Alabama tight end Amari Niblack was rated as a four star prospect in the Tide's 2022 recruiting class and caught 20 passes during the 2023 season. On paper, he should be able to add to the Aggies' pass catching capabilities at the position almost like he is a big wideout. High school Niblack lined up all over the place during his high school career (including defensive end) and also played basketball. He parlayed the preceding, strong camp showings, and nearly 1,000 yards of receiving as a senior into a high four star rating in the 247 Sports Composite (146th best player and fifth best athlete with a 0.9416 grade). He received offers from all over the southeast and committed to Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. 2022 He arrived in Tuscaloosa at a time when the Tide was known for running the spread with 11 personnel under guys like current Horns' coach Steve Sarkisian and H backs could be split out and used like big wideouts. He saw only 45 snaps over eight games and was targeted just twice. 2023 The arrival of former Notre Dame offensive coordinator Tommy Rees in 2023 changed everything for Niblack. He played 358 snaps that season, lining up in two tight end looks (as a big slot or wideout about 50% of the time per Pro Football Focus) and in line the rest of the time. He was targeted 30 times and had 20 receptions for about 16 yards per reception, mostly running seam and deep crossing routes. With the departure of Saban, he transferred to Texas for the 2024 season. 2024 The more experienced but less athletic Gunnar Helm became the primary check down guy for quarterbacks Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning in the same type of 11 personnel sets that probably helped attract Niblack to the Horns and Tide in the first place. He only played 90 snaps and was targeted just six times. He also struggled with flags and to garner time on special teams. Despite the fact that Helm was leaving Austin after the 2024 season (which should have left the position all to himself), Niblack hit the transfer portal one more time and ended up in Aggieland with former Tide receivers' coach Holmon Wiggins. Strengths - Niblack is built more like a big wideout than a H back. - Niblack is not explosive off of the line of scrimmage or necessarily that elusive, but he has the length to build up steam and get into his routes quickly once he gets going. - He can catch the ball with his hands and haul it in close to his body (with his size acting as a deterrent to break ups with most back end defenders). - He has a feel for being able to run away from defenders and find open spaces versus zone coverages on deeper or intermediate routes. 2025 projection We didn't hear or see much from Niblack in the spring as he was overshadowed by the other players at position for various reasons. He has been limited in terms of the number of snaps and also the way he has been used since he hasn't been much of a run blocker (either in quantity or quality) or played much on special teams. A&M seems to be more determined to get everyone more involved in the downfield passing game than they were last season in a search for more explosive plays. The tight end spot is no exception. Niblack could serve as an upgrade in that regard as an intermediate receiver who can perhaps turn medium sized gains into big ones and perhaps even be a weapon in the red zone, especially if A&M spends more time in 12 personnel and is better able to use him in a way that is more akin to the skills he possesses.

May 19, 2025May 19 23 minutes ago, DigglerontheHoof said: poor aggy, everyone's always out to get them Their conspiracy theories are so strange. I mean, WHY would anyone ever try to subvert their program and stymie their chances of success? Even in a world where you believe something like this is likely or even possible, wouldn't such machinations be used against programs that are... actually successful??? Moves to end Alabama's football dynasty of the 2010s would make sense. Moves against Duke or UNC men's basketball back during their runs, or UConn women's basketball. That sort of thing. A&M softball doesn't really fit the profile. If there really is a concerted effort to keep the ags down, someone who is self aware would probably start wondering why? It's not because of the success of your programs, so it's more likely that a great number of people with no specific allegiance, just don't like you. And if there is such ubiquitous, institutionalized dislike of Texas A&M, then someone who is self aware would probably start wondering, "what do we do, that makes us so unlikeable?" May 19, 2025May 19 https://www.ncaa.com/news/softball/article/2025-05-12/bracket-picks-2025-ncaa-softball-tournament-regionals-through-womens-college-world Quote Champion prediction Picking a national champion was incredibly difficult. There has been SO much parity this season, and I personally think it's been more than ever. I was pretty torn between Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas A&M as I wholeheartedly believe any of those teams could win it, along with some other teams as well. However, I am going with Texas A&M to win it all. The Aggies are the most battle-tested team and have proven success. Texas A&M has the top-ranked KPI and it is 11-5 vs RPI top-10 teams. I am going with the Aggies.
