Holy shit someone post Frenzy's tweet about the aggy depth chart on defense.  Lots of lulz.

Some quick items.

Pursuit drills resulted in the following lineups.

First team defense

DE….Landis Durham, Micheal Clemons

DT…Kingsley Keke, Daylon Mack

LB…Tyrel Dodson, Otaro Alaka

Rover…Buddy Johnson

CB…Charles Oliver, Debione Renfro

S….Donovan Wilson, Derrick Tucker

Second unit

DE…Tyree Johnson, Ondario Robinson

DT…Jayden Peevy, Mohamed Diallo

LB…Anthony Hines, Braden White

Rover..Ikenna Okeke

CB…Clifford Chattman, Travon Fuller

S….Deshawn Capers-Smith, Keldrick Carper

Third unit

DE…Tyree Wilson, Max Wright

DT…Landry Estes, TD Moton

LB…Kenneth Magee, Riley Garner

Rover…Brian Johnson

CB….Roney Elam, Myles Jones

S…Jordan Moore, Leon O’Neal

General observations

Most of the freshmen are going to have a ways to go although they can certainly close the gap on the veterans. However, there’s quite a few capable upperclassmen on the roster who are physically more mature with more time in a college weight program and that really stands out when you see the kids

Bobby Brown worked with both the tackles and ends today. Physically, he’s probably as likely of the newcomers to see playing time somewhere because he’s versatile in terms of his size and athleticism. He’s a fluid bg guy

Jeremiah Martin…he’s not as physically developed as I thought he would be. Wilson may even be ahead of him in that regard. He also isn’t displaying the get off we saw on film in high school.

Diallo arrived on campus not very long ago and he’s got ground to make up in terms of his conditioning and body. Nonetheless, he’s massive guy. He’s going to have learn to play with pad level and use his hands.

Moton is using his hands better and playing with better bend. Peevy came off of the snap well in drills

I watched the safeties for a while today and O’Neal doesn’t display the quick twitch you expect him to. He was working with the back end of the unit when it came to drills and needs to improve his hips. He’s physically impressive but he’s got to do more than just lay people out.

Keldrick Carper has filled out some and is moving better. He’ll probably hold on to a backup safety spot for now and maybe beyond that. He's turning better in drills than what I remember.

Trevor Wood and Glenn Beal have a ways to go in terms of their footwork running routes and getting separation. They’ve got to learn to sell play action off of a block and flatten out their routes when they need to. Jace Sternberger had a long way to go to when he first got to campus and by the end of spring practice he was a monster. However, those guys lack Sternberger’s athleticism.

Punt returners were Quartney Davis, Jashaun Corbin, Deneric Prince, Jalen Preston, Roshauud Paul, and Hezekiah Jones. All of them are underclassmen

Who the fuck is Braden White? Is that a walk-on in the 2 deep?

If Alaka and/or Dodson gets hurt they are in trouble at LB.  And that is one big JAG room of DE's.  Lulz at Renfro still starting at Corner.  Neither Safety has great speed.  And where is Justin Madubuike?

JMad was the one I was surprised not to see. If I remember right there was some rumored lingering injuries, back maybe?

Yeah, on paper that defense is Jaggy.

They have some legit talent at DT. Their first string LBers are good but after that they are in trouble. Oliver is an above average corner.

Everything else is meh to bad. Jimbo better be conservative in fall camp because they are 1 or 2 injuries away on both sides of the ball from being a complete dumpster fire.

IIRC, they were saying this guy was better than Ossai and a more SEC type DE.

Holy shit I didnt realize how bad it was. They need to continue paying recruits otherwise they are fucked for at least 3 years (still might be regardless). They are fucking high if they don't move Jackson to defense yesterday.

Shit, with a walk-on as the backup RB, he probably thinks he has RB sewn up.

Holy shit. They are so screwed. I can’t believe that Hines is still second string. I remember he was the savior of that particular class.

i thought Myles jones would be good. Oops.

Lol at Renfro starting.

Honeslty, how the fuck is Moton still on the team?

And Elam? Wow he sucks ass. So glad we got Boyd, Hill, and Davis.

They are so screwed.

Also; how and why is Jimbo keeping these transfers so much on the downlow? Marchiol and Bussey and not so much as a peep? Fishy.

Because he's telling guys on scholarship there's no room for them and to hit the road?  Making room so his recruiting staff can do work, but trying to keep it quiet so the incoming recruits don't realize they might be signing on as a 1-2 year placeholder until they get recruited over.

If they don't bow out under pressure expect to see medical "retirements".

In this age of thin skin and kids getting their feeling hurt easily it's probably not real hard to run them off.   Jalen hurts comes to mind, and there's an old article about how urban manages his rosters similarly.

Jimbo isn’t running anybody off, intentionally.  He needs every player he can get, they are not a championship team.  When you take over a team that’s not championship caliber you don’t run people off, you try to get every player to buy in. But some, for example in this situation, do not want to play for a midget cuck.

Fourth unit

LB….John Locke, Kiante McCoy

DB…Cade Pendergast, Moses Reynolds, Devin Morris, Alex Zettler

For the first time in camp during the media session, the receivers worked with the quarterbacks as opposed to just the tight ends and backs. The positions worked with all types of routes including slants and crossing routes. The big thing was that both contenders for the starting quarterback gig, Nick Starkel and Kellen Mond, were able to set themselves and deliver the ball accurately while the wideouts were on the move. The receivers didn’t have to stop or adjust themselves to get the ball. They still have to do it in front of 100,000 people but it’s a good sign. Moreover, the receivers’ ability to plant and break to the ball was very good.

Regarding the quarterbacks, Mond sets up a little bit quicker than Starkel but the ball comes out a little quicker with Starkel. Both have gotten better at holding the ball about chest high in their drop and Starkel is a little more consistent about turning into his throws. Otherwise, there’s not much to choose from between the two.

Geeze that is a horrible group of OL.  Green may be a day 1 starter when he arrives.  Lulz at Luke Matthews playing Tackle.  As bad those 2 starting Tackles are the backups are even worse.  McCoy and Sutherland are decent Guards, they better hope both last the year.

Also, that's not a WR group that's going to strike fear in opposing defenses.

Cullen Gillaspia at TE?  I thought he was a number 12 wearing walk-on linebacker to be converted to fullback.  Who is Gannon Rawlins?  Must be a walk-on.  So they have walk-ons Etwi, White, Rawlins, Gillaspia in the two deep.  Clemson is pissing their pants about now--with laughter.

Jimbo will learn this season that it is hard to be the guy who replaces a legendary coach.

All of sumlins players will go from diamonds in the rough to bums after the third loss (first loss not to Clemson and bama), and jimbo just needs to get this monster 2019 class on campus. Next season, the roster will be more than half his, and that plus 2nd year in his amazing pro style system will be when the trophies begin to rain down upon the station.

People don't understand that this is Jimbo putting out a bad depth chart on purpose so Clemson is surprised by the juggernaut that steamrolls them this season. He won't reveal his hand!

This is exactly the type of strategery you get from one of three active sitting national championship winning corches. 75million well spent. And after Jimbo beats dabo and saban this year, they might as well retire.

Don't forget the intentional lousy practices.  Playing long game here. Chess not checkers.

Sweet Christ, sir. Lay off the sauce for an hour and get this done or don’t do it at all. When did you start drinking today? Breakfast? Do you fashion yourself Edgar Allen Poe or something? If you’re going toe to toe with Daddy98 and Hamm, you’re going to need at least 5% of your wits.

In my defense, I did start drinking at breakfast yesterday.

I watched their spring game and we dodged a bullet on Daylon Mack.  He could not get off blocks and took a lot of plays off.  He is either lazy or just plain bad.  He ain't no Poona Ford that is for sure.

He has a quick first step and in high school used it to shoot the gap. He also anticipated snap counts often. In college he never learned to use his hands at all.

So, I’d say lazy more than bad, but also possibly poor coaching.
