Jimbo 2019: The Only Tail Getting Busted is Candi's

Recommended Posts

This is why Looch is pointing to 2020:

2020
9/12 NORTH TEXAS Kyle Field
9/19 COLORADO Kyle Field

SEC Home Games (alphabetical order)
  vs Arkansas Arlington (AT&T Stadium)
  LSU Kyle Field
  OLE MISS Kyle Field
  VANDERBILT Kyle Field
SEC Road Games (alphabetical order)
  at Alabama Tuscaloosa
  at Auburn Auburn
  at Mississippi State Starkville
  at South Carolina Columbia

Yes - they play Alabama at Tuscaloosa - but the rest of that schedule is dog shit and they get LSU at home.  Add in an FCS and another G5 bottom feeder and aggy's think they're on their way to a 12 win season in 2020.

Welcome to the ridiculous world of SEC scheduling:

Texas A&M: 2014 vs. Missouri; 2015 at Vanderbilt; 2016 vs. Tennessee; 2017 at Florida; 2018 vs. Kentucky; 2019 at Georgia; 2020 vs. Vanderbilt; 2021 at Missouri; 2022 vs. Florida; 2023 at Tennessee; 2024 vs. Georgia; 2025 at Kentucky.

Holy shit.. Is that was a 14 team conference looks like?

One of the two primary issues (the first is playing only eight conference games) is the annual cross division rivalry game, so that Bama and Tennessee, and Auburn and Georgia can continue their old rivalry games, despite it completely fucking over schedule of the conference as a whole

Interesting thread on SECRant regarding Elko leaving.

https://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/coaching-changes/mike-elko-and-temple/80759765/

I think Elko is good but they returned talent and experience on the front 7 this year. My guess is they see a similar drop off on defense much like Orlando did after losing Poona, Malik, Hill and the Kraken.

But that might be more incentive for Elko to jump ship.

Yikes so they're almost guaranteed to go 11-1 next season.

Colorado is going to beat aggy at Kroger.  They are 6-3 against aggy and Mel Tucker is a great DC who I think will do well there.

Temple jobs is Elko's according to Billy if he wants it. Sounds like they are setting up the narrative of turning down a big time job to stay in CS but could be wrong.

Staying "another year" is very specific wording.  They know his stock will be lower next year based on who they're likely to lose from defense this year.  He has to know that, too.

If Elko wants to move into HC position soon, he should jump.  Very unlikely his star will be as bright at this time next year.

That recruiting picture in dl and lb has to weigh in him, too.  If imagine getting away from that future is enticing.

Especially if you look at the recent history of Temple coaches: Golden, Addazio, Rhule, and Collins all were able to leverage the Temple job into better coaching opportunities.  It's seemingly one of the best stepping stone jobs out there.

As of Nov. 23, Elko is one of five assistants who did not have signed contracts with A&M. If he were to leave for another job, it's unclear if Elko would owe the Aggies a buyout for leaving for another job. A&M has not released the employment agreements of its unsigned assistants.

So aggy.

Holy shit, who is running that organization?  The ridiculously one-sided agreements like jimbo's are one thing, not even bothering to get signed agreements is another.  Wow.
