They literally have a post of the amazing hospitality they always show to visitors they post about!  It’s on barstools a&m instagram.  Always helping them find their seats, offering them food and drinks, having mutual conversations.   It’s a video of them putting hands in the visitors face and yelling at them overly aggressive by every single aggy around them directly in their face….  It’s slide four

But... they're the word's bestest fans!  This is clearly either a deepfake or a bunch of sip infiltrators dressed as ags to perpetrate a hoax!

Mike Elko denies taking shot at Jimbo Fisher, Brian Kelly in post-game comment

"It's ridiculous," the Texas A&M head coach said Monday.

Zach Barnett         8 hours ago

Mike Elko dropped a bar following No. 10 Texas A&M's comeback win over No. 16 LSU. "This is a real program," he said. "It is not fake. It is not a politician running this program, talking fast and BSing anybody."

Most people who heard, and then read, the quote immediately wondered aloud if Elko was talking about Jimbo Fisher, his notoriously fast-talking former boss. We were among them. Others argued Elko was firing verbal bullets at Brian Kelly, who once worked in politics and whom Elko will have to play and recruit against for the foreseeable future. Elko famously worked for Fisher at Texas A&M before taking the Duke job, but prior to that he was Kelly's defensive coordinator at Notre Dame.

The actual answer was neither, Elko said Monday.

"You guys gave me multiple opportunities in nine months to take shots at people, and I've never done it. I have nothing but respect for Coach Fisher. I've said nothing but positive things about Coach Fisher. I'm the head coach at Texas A&M because of Coach Fisher. I appreciate who he is, everything I've done.

And for anybody in the media to think that what I was doing post-LSU is asinine. And for it to be about any other head coach who gave me an opportunity and hired me, that's not who I am. I've never been that person. It's ridiculous, but it is what it is."

A cynical person would argue that this explanation allows Elko to have it both ways. He can take a not-so-veiled shot at his former bosses/current rival, or at least allow the public to believe he's taking shots at either of them, and then walk it back with a heavy dose of plausible deniability.

That would be pretty calculating though, and the opposite of the image Elko has cut since he joined the public eye as Duke's head coach in 2022 -- an attribute that's probably the biggest attribute to Elko's success thus far. Elko became the head coach of a top-10 team by telling it like it is, so I think in this case we have to believe he's telling it like it is.

Even if that's not as fun.

I have no problem with Elko and he comes across as very straight forward and honest. The guy took Jimbo's fucked up culture and turned it into 7-1 and top of the SEC in year one. Damn good job. Game on Thanksgiving got a lot more interesting and tougher because of him

FCS Should be “since 1990-something” when we played UNT

we only played SHSU in 2006 because of a last second hurricane backout by a louisiana school iirc

They need to go to the Texas game, wear Texas gear, and then let's see what they post.

Just placed a bet with the bookie, since Caesars wouldn’t take it.

Put a grand on the same result being posted, on the premise they didn’t go to the first one, either.

Just anyone who won't fold at adversity. I really hope it's Quinn after a week off and he feedback and works hard to get back into rhythm. Getting Bond + Gibson back will be huge for whomever starts.

"Whoever starts"? Gimme a break. Sark ain't benching Quinn.

Quinn played well against Vanderbilt.

He played well, but he missed some easy shots. We need Bond back. He makes nothing into something, which opens up the playbook. Wingo needs to step it up, too. Golden is money in the red zone, and Moore makes nothing into something. Quinn over threw him and he adjusted his body to make that catch. Quinn's numbers are skewed by the WR's making ridiculous plays.

Aggy game could be Colorado Big 12 championship vs. Simms.  Just need to sub Manning earlier in the game than Mack did with Applewhite.  And don't rough the punter...

We were running the ball at will in that game and then GDGD calls for a pass in traffic when we could have just run it in. The main problem with Simms was following the script GDGD would call regardless of the defensive look and we know from Vince that GDGD would have the right call in practice but would second guess himself during the games.

Sark said it on Monday that he limits his QB on making changes to the play against certain opponents. I believe in part that Ewers skipped open receivers underneath against Georgia because Sark wanted him to throw the longer developing route.

Yes Simms and Ewers similarly seem to get rattled but lets not forget the play calls contribute. Applewhite and Colt would repeatedly audible out of bad play calls but for some reason Simms and Ewers seem to stick to the script.

You could argue the same thing for the wrs getting ridiculous  balls from Quinn earlier this year and in the last game. For instance, the no look pass early in the season, and the dime Quinn threw into the endzone on the second TD in Q2 of this game. Quinn certainly looked bad in the UGA game,  as did the entire offense, but looked much better this game, the two tip Ints not withstanding.

Whoever he is, I hope he got paid a lot of money to wear that stupid hat.

You must not remember the 70s and the Pittsburgh Pirates "We Are Family" championship.

From Cedric Golden column today:

Top-five meetings between Texas, A&M are rare:

One would think the Horns and Aggies have met as top-five teams several times over the last half-century, but I had to go all the way back to 1975 to find the last time it happened. It was Darrell Royal’s penultimate season in Austin and the No. 5 Horns (9-1) were riding a five-game winning streak.

They had recovered nicely from a 2417 loss to Oklahoma, but the No. 2 Aggies, coached by former Royal assistant Emory Bellard, were hotter. They were 9-0 and had won six games by double digits.

As 56,679 packed Kyle Field — it was half the size it is now — things didn’t go well for the Horns. A&M linebacker Ed Simonini was all over the place and UT quarterback Marty Akins aggravated a knee injury. The Aggies keyed on Texas star running back Earl Campbell and celebrated a 20-10 win that gave them a clear path to a Southwest Conference title, a Cotton Bowl appearance and a chance for the program’s first national title since 1939. All they needed was a win at No. 18 Arkansas.

Didn’t happen.

The Razorbacks rolled 31-6 and created a three-way tie with Texas and A&M for the conference title. The Aggies ended up in the Liberty Bowl where they lost 20-0 to USC in what was Trojans coach John McKay’s final game.
