Lincoln Riley might actually be the biggest pussy to ever coach in CFB. Ran away from the SEC, now running away from ND. He only wants to play a bunch of shitass teams, only problem is he's been losing to them too.

Still nothing to be scared of.

Well LR is a pussy and wants a weaker Indiana-esque non-conf schedule to minimizes losses

So they made the decision because they expect to lose. That's pretty fucking sad.

They should just tell the truth, Fuck ND, join a conference

Then say that instead of "we won't play because the committee might "punish" us if we lose." BYU was literally just told that one loss is too many and yet agreed to play ND. It's just a really pathetic statement. Or just say nothing at all. "We could not make it work and will reconsider in the future." Anything but "we're afraid to lose."

What is the benefit for USC to play ND late in the season in the middle of their Big 10 schedule?

The committee spoke loud and clear. Big time out of Conference games are a negative, not a positive for making the playoffs.

See Texas/Ohio State.

What a bitchass move by usc.  And no, they can't just pin it on Lincoln.  The AD and if not the university president should have ensured that the game continues.

Not joining a conference then signing a secret deal with the playoff committee for special rules to guarantee you a spot is a bitchass move and teams should let them rot like USC is doing here.

Texas should do the same

I don’t have beef with this. Notre Dame can get fucked imo.

Same.

ND is constantly doing whatever it wants for the benefit of ND.  But USC does it and it's "pussy?"

Nothing USC said is wrong. The CFP punishes teams for late losses.  If ND won't move the game, the game is cancelled and ND can fill it with someone else who is willing to simp for the Conferenceless Catholics.

USC gave them a reasonable offer - move it to the early season and it will continue.

Maybe they could try winning every once and awhile.  The committee rewards teams for late wins.

Unless you beat previously unbeaten top 5 team at home, then the committee yawns and barely rewards you.

I want out of all of our big OOC games. Fuck FOX, fuck ESPN. The CFP committee has definitively shown with their actions that these games will be punitive to the loser.

Yeah but you're in the Big 12. You have to have a game like that or not lose by 20+ to Tech to get in the playoff. You need a big OOC game whereas USC doesn't. They have Indiana, Oregon, Ohio State, and Washington next year.

USC went 9-3 this year and didn't make the playoff.  If they'd beat ND (or Oregon) they would have been in at 10-2.  If they had replace ND on the schedule with SJSU they would have been right there with ND left out at 10-2.  If you disagree, tell me who they'd jump.

It's a bitch move by both schools. Both are shitty teams, and they're both scared to play each other to see who is worse. Truly bitch made on both sides. Fuck em both.

BYU realized the Big 12 might always be a one bid conference and adding a team like ND to the OOC schedule greatly increases their chances at being a second Big 12 invite (taking out your competition ala Miami this season - you don’t get the same ROI scheduling a big 10 or sec opponent).

Just a Murderer's Row of Big 10 teams.

No, Notre Dame can get fucked. Join the Big 10 if you want to play USC going forward. USC has to go to Indiana next season and plays Ohio State, Oregon, Washington. Why help Notre Dame's SOS since they now just have to be 12 to get in the playoff with a shitty schedule.

Notre Dame's MoU was already signed by the time knowledge of it was made public. That means the Big Ten already knew about it, which means USC also already knew about it.

USC's been looking to get out of this game for a while now (scroll back to earlier pages). Don't give them a pass for this. The ND MoU is just an excuse, the actual reason is that Lincoln Riley needs to save his job and wants to make USC's schedule as easy as possible.

Yeah but no one gives a fuck about BYU.

BYU played one team worth a shit all year, and lost to them twice and neither game was close. That same team is likely going to get killed in their QF game. BYU needs a stronger schedule both in terms of perceived and realized strength

For ND to come to this agreement with the CFP, every other P4 conference would have had to agree/sign off on it as well. That means at a minimum, the Big Ten commissioner knew about this.

So for the tweet to be true, Tony Petiti would have had to deliberately decide to not tell the ADs of the schools in his own conference about the MoU he agreed to. Which makes no sense.

ND needs to be blackballed until they join a conference

The time is now to do this. the problem is the ACC is gonna play nice and the Big Ten will probably look the other way.  The TV money doesn't need Notre Dame anymore.

It's pathetic how Sankey and Pettiti got taken to the woodshed. They held all the chips, but allowed #12 ND in and #12 of their team out. Just absolutely pitiful shit.
