That’s actually the first time I’ve ever seen the sun actually cost us a play. Lots of talk about it. But never hurt us before.

Use those damned curtains.

that sun glare has been problem since inception, so why doesn't Jerrah hire some glass specialists to FUCKING FIX THE DAMN THING.

They have black shades installed on it. Use them for concerts and other events. Jerry refuses to use them for NFL games because he's an egotistical piece of shit who would rather harm his own team's chances rather than admit he was stupid to not have closed them in the first place since year 1.

Just an epitome of the problem since he arrived. Same egotistical bullshit that ran off Jimmy. Same that has kept a real GM from ever being hired.

I can not think of another time where the sun actually fucked them over. If you got one I’d like to know.

Its happened multiple times in regular season and has been talked about for any late season afternoon game.  It's stupid and Jerry Jones is a dumbass.

Can’t read it. Care to explain the play? I don’t remember a play like that that could cost them the game.

Spoiler

After the sunlight in AT&T Stadium appeared to interfere with a few Cowboys in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 20-19 loss to the New York Giants, many of the Cowboys hopping on the radio the next morning were asked what could be done about the blinding light.

In an interview with 105.3 The Fan on Monday, head coach Jason Garrett said it's just a fact of life the team has to deal with.

"The sun's been there for five billion years and it'll probably be there for five billion more," he said.

In a later interview on the station, Cowboys VP Stephen Jones seemed to agree with that sentiment but then said that the team could look into solutions if it's a problem.

"In sports that happens, whether it's baseball catching fly balls, whether it's our game, you play in the elements," Jones said. "Certainly it worked against us yesterday. It can certainly work for you as well. But those are things that we'll continue to look at, see if there's a way to improve and make it a better situation. We always try to make AT&T Stadium better each and every year. And if we see the right solution then we'll certainly look at it. But that's a part of our game, you play the game in the elements and in this particular case we don't have all the elements covered. Obviously there was some sun issues there and certainly I agree it did look like it bothered a couple of our guys on a couple of plays."

Jones was asked if curtains were an option. On The Ticket, host Bob Sturm pointed out that there were curtains up on the windows recently when Coldplay played AT&T Stadium.

"Probably if you're going to have curtains and shades, you're probably gonna have them throughout the game," Jones said. "And those are things we'll always continue to look at as well as any new technology to add with the tinting of our glass and things of that nature. But we've been playing in AT&T for many years now, and for the most part it serves its purpose well, but you're always going to have situations that come to light that you certainly will take a look at and see if you can improve upon."

Meanwhile on The Ticket, tight end Jason Witten said that the sun bothered him on at least one incompletion.

If you can't see the tweet on mobile, tap here.

"It did. I really couldn't see it until the last second it got on me," Witten said. "But the elements have been around for a long time and I have high expectations for myself, so I need to make that play. That's something that could have got the drive started. We'll find a way. No excuses with that. Go make that play and get that drive started."

So does the sun factor into coin toss decisions when the Cowboys have a late-afternoon start?

"I guess it is, I haven't really thought a whole lot about it," Witten said. "We won the toss and elected to receive, so [the Giants] then got to pick which side they wanted to kick from. So I don't know if they were making that decision thinking about that with the fourth quarter and where the sun would be."

"We'll work though it. We'll get the results. The bottom line is to understand that we're looking for catches and we'll make sure to get that squared away."

what's funny to me about the whole sun thing/ glare...

Texas Stadium had shadows and fucked up player sight lines because of it.

It's an Arkansas tradition if you bring that shit from the old house to the new house.

the issue isn't that it has cost them a game, the issue is that it is stupid to have it even potentially cost you a game.

I completely agree. I’m not arguing that. I was just saying I’ve never actually seen it hurt us before. I knew it would one day. That’s today.

You’re wrong, get over it

Except I’ve yet to see a play where the Sun hurt them. That article was about the stupidity of building the stadium that way. I agree.

My point wasn’t that the Sun wasn’t a problem. Of course it is.

I was just bemoaning the fact that now it has hurt them and I’ve never actually seen them hurt by it before. If they have I’m not remembering it. That’s all.
