  • This postseason has become more sentimental for me and my wife's family.  My father in law is the biggest Astros fan I know.  He watches every game without fail, even DVRing them if he can't watch liv

lulz@bregman lost the foul ball lolololol

Saw Tucker had his glasses on top of his hat on a catch he made in the 1st. He might want to go ahead and put those on

Eh…I think you could at least make a case for the Lofton trade being just about as bad. Consider: (a) we got absolutely no value out of Lofton and got back absolutely no value in return; (b) Lofton would go on to be worth over 5 WAR per season over the next 8 years, playing a position at which those teams were never particularly strong.

Then consider the teams Lofton would have played for. Prime Lofton, Biggio, Bagwell hitting 1-3 for the entire 90s…holy shit. Those were playoff teams and adding a guy like Lofton could have nudged them forward enough to get over the hump. He was the perfect complimentary player for those teams - elite defensive CF (in the Dome) who was on base 40% of the time and stealing bases better than anyone in the sport.

Obviously Morgan was a better player than Lofton, but the circumstances make a difference, and at least the Astros did get some good years out of Morgan before they traded him.

The Morgan trade is the worst in terms of the caliber of the player they traded, just saying that the Lofton trade was absolutely awful and isn’t far behind, all things considered.

Oh yeah, that Lofton trade is close behind and easily the worst trade on my Astros fan timeline but Joe Morgan was an all-time great, a generational player whose brand name imo was unfairly tarnished by his broadcast career and the ballyhooed baseball blogspot that took its name from him.

Trading Joe  Morgan was trading away a HOF giant along the lines of letting Nolan walk to the fucking Rangers. Both of them should've been been enshrined wearing the goddamn H.

He didn't help himself with his old man yelling at clouds routine whenever advanced metrics came up.

Has Dubon done anything that gives hope that he can be a contributor?

Not in an Astros uni. But I still think he will.

I hope so because we’re stuck with him. Per Fangraphs, he’s out of MILB options.

I miss our offense.

(expert) We get a decent number of hits, but not often ones that lead to runs (commentary).

He pitched at least one other cause I seent it and we won.

What happens when you act like just showing up at the park puts enough runs on the board.

My gameday has a strike out and two outs, and then changed it to a walk.  Anything goofy happen, or just gameday being silly?

Maybe the ump is the scorekeeper.

yeah Yordan got hit and Kotsay got ejected

No friend of Oakland, but this ump has sucked.

Fucked Verlander pretty good.  a's should be happy AF.

But they aren't.  LOL

Missed a tied game by a foot.  And of course Diaz doesn't score.

It's his off day.  Moose out front shoulda told ya.

Have to pinch hit Brantley here, right?

It's literally the one spot (needing a single against a RHP) that Uncle Mike might be the best in the entire league at.  So, yeah, real happy to leave that bullet in the gun.

Is Diaz that slow? Or did we hold him? As a broad rule, I think I'd rather be down 3-2 than 3-1.

That's why the Giants traded him

Why not pinch run Siri for Yuli?
