Thank you Quinn Ewers.

for what? for being the weak link on two absolutely loaded teams that would have each won the national title if they had marginally better qb play? this thing where arch being bad makes some of you weirdos think that it suddenly means that quinn wasn’t also bad is so goddamn weird. i mean, arch is bad, but so is basically everyone else on our offense. quinn was bad when the entire rest of the team was NC worthy. so what exactly are you thanking him for? wasting our best chances to win a title since 2009?

we’ve downgraded all over the place on offense, and you think that adding the weak link from our past two offenses would make us better? of course you do.

quinn ewers was totally ineffectual when surrounded by countless nfl linemen, tight ends, running backs, and wr’s, but sure, he’d just be tearing shit up for this hapless, chinese fire drill of a team. holy shit that’s funny.

The dead cap hit if they launch Tua is insane.

Aaaand Tua gets picked. Ewers might get his chance with the game out of hand.

quinn tried to throw a pick into triple coverage, but the db dropped the can o corn. then quinn fumbled the snap and then got sacked. looks someone woke up on the regular side of the bed today.

here's the first snap of his nfl career:

quinn just made a terrible pass to an open jaylen waddle, hung him out to dry. waddle is now down injured.

so, to recap:

•he tried to throw a pick into quintuple coverage

•completed a pass for negative two yards

•fumbled a snap

•got sacked

•got his open wr injured by floating a dead duck his way

Thank You Quinn. 🙏🏼

he just got stripped and possibly hurt. grabbing his hand/wrist after the play. still messing with it.

stays in the game, and takes a sack on 4th down.

Oh look, Derka shitting on Ewers for plays made deep into garbage time in a Dolphins/Browns game that was a 31-6 final.

i literally posted a factual recounting of his plays. i suppose you think i was also “shitting on him” when i posted the PFF ratings.

Lol. So there are no future NFL linemen, receivers, TEs, or backs on this roster is what you are saying? We lost NFL guys in 22, 23, and 24. Each time we retooled with lesser players and each time we continued to win. We started the season with an underwhelming Ohio State that scored 14 points and a loss to a Florida team that just fired their coach. We haven't even gotten to the good teams yet but we are supposed to believe that there is no way Ewers could win behind this line. Completely silly. I want Arch to play but part of me wants another guy to come in just long enough so you can see that this line isnt nearly as bad as you guys think it is.

Lol. Thats how averages work Zeus. Funny. When Arch threw a deep ball against MSU while getting hit we were told that it was something Ewers would or could never do. Then Ewers does it in the NFL and its a "prayer". Lol.

Mine was after losing to the number 1 team in the country at their place in a game we completely outplayed them and the only reason for the loss was because our 5 star QB who has some really good game film played like a retard and it didn’t seem likely that would continue.

new shit came to light and I got lambasted by CTJ for being too negative by the week 3 thread. The only thing I’m pushing back against now is the idea 7-5 is a ceiling for this team. I still think that’s dumb looking at the schedule, the cpu rankings and the Vegas lines.

When you say “hung him out to dry” and “tried to throw a pick” and “floating a dead duck” and then giving him a sarcastic thanks with a prayer emoji, it’s not a factual recounting. It’s a summary with your slant included. Again in total garbage time with his team that’s either quit or just about to quit. You can’t draw anything from that performance.

@Derka I've asked you this before, but what is it specifically about Quinn that you hate so much?

we’ve had this conversation before, both micro and macro.

micro: i don’t hate quinn. never have. i simply went completely against the grain around here re: quinn and his skills, leadership, and performance, which led to years of extremely contentious and personal responses from hordes of people here. if you think that i’m delighting in quinn’s failure it’s not because i hate him, it’s because there are a few dozen posters here who’ve harassed me for years who are now foaming at the mouth over their laptop and screaming at their wife because of it. i find that funny and i enjoy it.

macro: being critical of someone does not mean you hate them. 99% of this board doesn’t understand this. i hate jeff fisher. i think QE is/always has been overrated by kool-aid drinking fans. huge difference.

Okay, now do Arch

i’ve been doing arch (pause) all year. that’s another weird thing about this quinn ewers cult. because they are incapable of admitting that QE isn’t who they thought he would be, they think everyone else is the same. have you read this board this year? do you see anybody here even remotely pleased with Arch? he’s been on the hot seat since like his 5th career start. QE was bad for three years and still had/has people who can’t admit it. the universal negative reaction to Arch’s play (at the beginning of his career, with a far inferior supporting cast) is the strongest proof yet that quinn ewers has a cult like following.

Something to keep in mind is that Quinn was the scout team QB. It’s unlikely that he’s had any experience practicing Miami’s plays during the season unless he was given some reps in the week leading up to the game (and it sounds like he wasn’t.)

He was only in there to finish the game in garbage time. It shouldn’t be a surprise that he struggled.

While the Dolphins aren't making any changes at starter, the depth chart behind Tagovailoa is less clear. McDaniel said Ewers was promoted to second string specifically for Sunday's game but not necessarily on a permanent basis.

In his first official NFL action, Ewers completed 5-of-8 passes for 53 yards. McDaniel said he will compete with former No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson for the job behind Tagovailoa.

"I'm hoping it's not a week-to-week thing," McDaniel said. "It will be competitive this week, and at the end of the week I'll let you guys know who the backup is and in the hopes that somebody grabs and takes it."

Just for fun, and it doesn't matter much, but career rushing stats for Quinn & Arch:

Quinn:  negative 0.4 ypc

Arch:  positive 4.1 ypc

#turdinpunchbowl

to this point, Arch still has obvious potential that hasn’t been tapped yet, which is why it’s way premature to give up on him, strictly football-wise. before the season we all expected a clear upgrade at qb that would see us featuring a much improved, more dynamic offense. we were wrong. now, with Arch (and the entire offense) struggling, lots of people are ready to say “fuck it” and move on. those people are also wrong.

Arch isn’t as good as we expected him to be, but he’s also nowhere near reaching his ceiling, so let’s stop acting like this is him as a finished product. most of the top college qbs of recent years went and cut their teeth somewhere small-mid, then transferred into a big program, and finally shined in year 4 or 5 as a starter. Arch is in year 1. let’s all calm our tits, take a breath, and see if he doesn’t fuck around and improve as time goes on.
