Nah, it’s the further NFLification of college football. Complete with turning the fans into NFL wannabe meat heads

I think that's just our society in general. There are two types of NFL fans; those that grew up cheering for those teams with their family, and those who never went to a decent sized college. And I suppose the third tier of losers who decided to adopt the Houston Texans late in life, for whatever reason, but I assume that is based on some segment of those who went to college and a need to fill the void in their lives that Bud Adams ripped away.

Pat McAfee is the college football version of Aaron Rodgers and Joe Rogan. He's for dumb-as-shit 20-something white man-children who all think they're "alphas", swear by the carnivore diet, and couldn't find a clitoris if you expanded it ten-fold and provided GPS.

I think it's a mix with SAS where he's being inserted into places he doesn't belong. Why was he on the Home Run Derby literally last night? Why was he doing a long speech shown in arena in Indiana during the NBA Finals that went so long they literally delayed getting back into the game? Put him in football and wrestling stuff, sure don't care, I can ignore it. But they're trying to have him in everything and beyond being a turnoff for most of the audience he doesn't match or know the spaces they're putting him in.

Erin Hogan on his ESPN Austin radio show, broadcasting from ATL this morning said that a long-time "20-years reliable" source of his said that, "Atkinson was in the bag [for Texas]."

Then Hogan hemmed, hawed, and hedged, saying, "Not that that couldn't change before the announcement."

That’ll be $9.95

I have a hard time thinking of a 20 year reliable source that would even talk to Hogan, unless it was Bobby or Gerry. Which means it's probably Ketchum, so fuck us all.

I’m sure Derrick Johnson knows, and has told a few people, maybe Babers who is close with Hogan.

GTFO of here with your logical deduction and perfectly reasonable speculation.

The guy has already told the staffs. Hence the disillusionment on the Georgia end and the PK tweet.

Probably what they meant about the time? He confirmed with the staffs around that time

It's almost like in your world, it's impossible to be perfectly fine with a guy who's found success in his various fields while at the same time dismissing someone personally because you find their content to be tedious and unspectacular.

Texas A&M has managed to create hundreds of thousands of alums, some of them who have money, and brainwash them into borderline tragic levels of cognitive dissonance and emotional sports suffering, all while having them say "please sir may I have another." By any measure it seems like Texas A&M is a super successful institution, and have positioned themselves brilliantly.

I suppose it goes without saying that the institution of Texas A&M demands your respect, huh?

I respect his outcomes more than his content, but your point still stands.

Yes, I'm told the Texas offer is notably higher than Georgia's, but that was the case when Georgia still had confidence it would land Atkinson.

This. I felt like he informed the staffs yesterday. Hence all the crystal ball changes happening when they did.

Fun Fact, Pat McAfee is @closetojumping's favorite college football analyst. "He adds real personality to the shows, guys." His opinion was in such a minority in our text group that now he's gotten super defensive about it, trying to proactively frame some dumb antic or take McAfee has as prescient or smart. I think he even defended McAfee's pick of aTm for last year's football game. "Guys, obviously I expect to win, but McAfee had some good points."

A pending commitment from a bad ass player, kolache talk, Houston burbs, kitty talk, and the same few posters that tell us all how to live/who is ok to like. It’s one stop shopping and I couldn’t be more thankful.

Honestly, seems like an untapped 9.95 venture on their parts. Just imagine the uncut Surlyesque shit that continuously flows out of that group text.

I'd pay to surgically install the locator for GPS. I'd thought it was like that pirate treasure those idiots are digging for on that island.

All of this and a huge feeder of the trend where sports just turns into a thing people can gamble on instead of fun in its own right. Sports betting is the death of interesting conversations.

Betting stories of any kind are death-in-life to listen to.

Jerry Jones, Barry Switzer, Deion Sanders in Dallas killed my number two team for me. Bud Shitstain Adams stole number one. I was liberated from the NFL

I respectfully disagree. That would be posting and interacting with the fucking den of dullards on the football board every Saturday.

Hmm. Appears you're a regular poster on the football board.

I'm sorry, what kind of person could have ever had the Oilers are their #1 team, and the Cowboys as their #2? Or Vice Versa?

That's some fucking deranged shit, man. You really respect OU every other Saturday other than the second weekend in October?

Iron lung? What is this, the damned. dark ages? It was a hyperbaric chamber, it worked, and I didn’t have to come home and tell the children that some noob of a vet misdiagnosed some cat ailment and killed their “ kitty”.

Pat McAfee gets more shit on this site than damned near anyone. I’ve only seen him on Gameday and, while obnoxious, he’s also pretty entertaining. Is there something else going on with the guy that causes such enthused disdain?

any light skin brother that can chug a beer and do a reverse flip triple lindy off the top rope and stick the landing is a friend of mine!

I grew up in Central Texas. I have no dog in the Dallas v Houston rivalry. They weren’t in the same division or even conference. I had no problem pulling for both. Dallas 1, Houston 2. When Houston Houstoned up the game with the Bills and ruined the all-Texas Super Bowl, I was pissed. Frank Reich? Seriously?
