Arch Manning: Doing his best JAG impression to fool scouts

He took some shitty sacks, but every good throw he made was after dodging or spinning away from a would-be sack. A lot of his bad throws were as he was getting hit or he was hit as his arm has just released the ball off balance. He's not doing a good job running the offense, but the OL will lose us three more games this season minimum just sucking ass at every single thing they are asked to do.

It's a reference to Greg Davis moving on to Iowa for several years and doing Greg Davis things there, too.

He also did Greg Davis things at North Carolina with Mack Brown before coming over to Texas. If a fan base is really excited to see someone leave, there's often a reason for it. Iowa fans dismissed Texas fans for a while until they finally came to the realization there was something to all the criticism.

I get that but the response was to a Kansas state guy like he was an Iowa guy.

No, it didn't matter what fanbase he's from. I doubt satyanash cares what fanbase the guy is from. It's a reference to Greg Davis, not a reference to Kennythetiger.

Well, I see improvement.

At least I'm not looking at this game feeling like the one player on the team who deserves the most blame is Arch Manning. I didn't think anyone would move the ball on this defense the way Florida did in the first half. They came back and limited Florida to 7 points in the second half, but my goodness.

I'm not saying Manning played the perfect game, but he played better. Now that our playoff hopes are pretty close to dead, I will hope he shows continued improvement over the rest of the season.

I agree with most of what you said. Definitely a game he can build on. From a team outlook I think we overlooked the impact the inexperience this team possessed. I’ve resigned to the fact this team is probably a year away from being an actual championship contender. At this point just want to see continued improvement.

Doesn’t help every fucking neanderthal charging 9.95 was saying best team ever, no really this time, best ever.

I don’t blame arch for the loss. The lines of scrimmage were lost so bad that he had little help.

but I’m not gonna excuse the inconsistent play and the poor throws when it was open for him. Holding onto the. All and taking sacks he can’t take.

I did see better things in the 2nd half. But not nearly enough.

this is where I'm at. strangely, I think he had some areas of improvement today. you just have to hope he keeps improving on the situational awareness side, because the change people want isn't coming. can only hope this is the true growth year

I can't believe we ran off Quinn Ewers for this shit.

I take solis in the fact that Quinn would get destroyed behind this OL with our shitty running backs and piss poor wide receivers. We're going to look back on the Washington and Ohio State playoff games as the ultimate what could've been and the best chances we might have in a decade to even be close to a championship. We couldn't be further away from that team from last year right now.

Manning did actually play much better today, but he obviously has a long way to go. It may just be that I'm an asshole but I would absolutely let Caldwell play because the problem with this offense is the OL is utter dog shit and maybe a more experienced QB who has played many games where his OL is drastically inferior to the opponent's DL can help us out.

There are no championships on the horizon for this team, obviously. You got Caldwell in the portal, Manning is a work in progress who will be in Austin 5 years at this point. See what the vet can do.

I thought he played better today given we had zero run game and a shitty OL.  He did make some bad decisions especially on the last two series but some of that is experience.  Florida has a very good defense and one of the best we will play the rest of the year.

This is not a championship team unlike last year.  We don’t have an elite defense (that shocks me)  and we aren’t sniffing the playoffs with our lines.  I think we stick with Arch and see if he gets better as the year progresses.   Caldwell might get us a win or two but he’s gone next year.

If Arch doesn’t improve, we go get a transfer qb along with a new OC.

Arch had 37 of our 52 rushing yards today

RBs had 15 yards today.  Every other yard of our 341 involved Arch.  I guess Wingo and Endries could have changed that but otherwise it was fucking pathetic.  You can't win games with 15 fucking yards rushing from your RBs.

The line is terrible, but Quinn would more often than not hit receivers open on basic routes outside of the deep stuff. I have zero confidence in Arch. And this pup isn’t biting at all. He sucks ass. We need to move on.

Quinn would be hitting a few throws arch didn't today fair, but quinn could have been sacked 10 times today. Arch is the offense, we go as far as he goes. If he hit a couple more plays today, we could have been more competitive. Basically, you can't say that about anyone else out their on our team. Maybe wingo catching a ball or making a better pass to endries.

The difference today was our d line get pushed around and our o-line didn't push anything. They had a run game and that opened up their pass. Arch had the offense on his back. His picks were due to him having to play the hero.

I just think he was trying to do it all in the 2nd half.  We were getting bullied and he probably saw it as "if it's not me changing this up we are losing".  I liked the fight, but I hope some of those directives didn't come from the coaches.

I don't think one good throw by the backup means shit.

Bingo. On the list of people to blame today, Arch is below the midline

Arch was starting to Vince young us to victory there for a moment. Then two false starts. I have a  growing confidence in the guy but zero on this o-line. . It is just awful, big humans? Ok whatever

And no one can break a tackle besides Arch as well

Is my understanding correct that Florida had 3 sacks for the season before today?

Their website shows the updated record at 2-3 with 9 sacks.  They got 6 against us.  So, yeah, that seems right.

They've also given up over 600 yards rushing in 5 games including the 52 that we got today.

Any cock stuffers to think that arch is a good idea or fucking stupidAny of you cocksucker that think this coaxing staff and team can turn I around are fucking idiots

Just listening to the game, every pass play started with Way "ARCH UNDER PRESSURE!"

At some point, I think we can all agree that the amount of money that’s being spent with this coaching staff and the results were getting does not equal what we should be getting as far as results go

When he was presented with opportunities to make plays he missed them, with the exception of the Wingo pass. And I’m saying he missed the ones that he threw to. I have a feeling on film review people are open that he’s missing repeatedly.

So did Manning actually improve, or did every other position on the team regress so badly it made Manning’s struggles stand out less and give the illusion of improvement?

He still missed open WRs. He still displayed terrible game IQ on the last clutch drive. Can you point to one concrete issue with his game that he's fixed? Or are we just seeing him run for his life behind a dismal O-line and reflexively thinking "he'd be good with better protection" even though we've SEEN him struggle badly with better protection earlier in the year?

Arch wasn't the main reason we lost today, sure. But that doesn't necessarily mean he's improved. Just that other position groups sucked worse.

Arch didn’t play great. But he was not the reason for this buttfucking. This was on the o line, special teams, coaches and rbs. Wisner is a mid running back. And he’s hurt. The other rbs are all terrible. It’s gonna be a long season

Anyone know what happened to Neto? Guy went from preseason starter to being replaced by Stohl and finally a true freshman Brooks. The LG position was responsible for multiple sacks, false starts, pressures, and tackles behind the LOS today. What a fucking mess.

When you have to play any other true freshman but Kelvin Banks, your O-Line sucks cock.

But, Arch is still struggling to read progressions and get rid of the ball on time.

You forgot our Front 7 on defense rarely applied pressure and sucked against the run for most of the game.

50% of this loss was on Arch. 50% was on the coaches. And 50% was on the players.

Undefeated with Ewers.

No, he would’ve been hurt (again) with this o-line. He most likely would’ve beaten Ohio state but he would’ve take a lot of self sacks today (more than arch) while getting murdered. But maybe back up arch would’ve shined instead of starter arch.

So I guess, maybe.

But ewers would not have lasted the whole year with this line. Heck arch may not.

I’m just so confused. Arch is all or nothing. It’s big plays or negative. Ewers it was 5-10 yards and no big plays. Like how is having the polar opposite possible lol.

honestly believe we would be undefeated with ewers or caldwell (whatever his name is) right now, or at least would would have beat ohio state.
