Trump tax is the term that should be repeated over and over and over.

Exactly! The Dems need a winning strategy, just like the one employed by *checks notes* that guy who died in prison after a failed effort to unseat a still-thriving autocratic regime.

Ah! Well. Nevertheless,

We can just stop buying anything from other countries and then we wouldn't be losing any money at all!

Tell me, how many failed businesses does this guy have?

I mean, I guess it would be cool if I didn't have to spend any money.  But I think my life might kinda suck.

If the de minimis exception was helping you out, Austin, your business was a pile of shit.

Listen, man, if the entire country gets owned and destroyed, that includes a whole lot of libs. Points for Trump. I regret nothing!

His business was basically drop shipping Chinese shit aimed at maga. Calling it a shoe company is laughable.

I guess then de minimis would have exempted small purchases.  Not quite sure how that would work.

Not an expert but it is basically the Temu model.

1. Pick a product made in China that you can list on Amazon.  Maybe you make a subtle design change to it, maybe it is a ripoff of something else that has brand recognition like these shoes I just got, similar to Sketchers.

2. Set up a digital storefront

3. Arrange for the in country exporter to label items for customer delivery in the US and ship them as if they were bought directly from the factory or exporter. (Ignore the US Middleman's storefront)

4. Items get around the bulk freight import tariffs based on the de minimis exemption

Worse still, that's one of the firms that capitulated without ever being targeted.  And, AFAIK no reason to be targeted.

I watched Suits so as an expert I can say they are fucked, the sharks are circling.

What is probably true is that non-capitulating firms are using this to harvest clients.  So, even if a GC or BoD isn't inclined to question it on their own, they're being seriously prodded by competing law firms to do so.

Yep that seems like an easy sell for the competitor.

"They bent over instantly to protect their own ass, you don't think they'll sell you out and turn over any dirt they have on you at the drop of a hat? As soon as Trump says he thinks it might be fraud or otherwise criminal they'll overnight every communication with you before he even has to ask for it."

The cognitive dissonance has to be killing him or he's too stupid to realize his position is untenable

  1. I support a man who campaigned on tariffs as one of his main policies
  2. That policy has killed my business
  3. I support the man not the policy
  4. You voted for this Gif

I am inclined to believe a lot of this is trying to  be the next lady yelling the n word. Instead of advertising, you send out the moron bat signal and hope people flood you with orders.  He isn’t probably hurting yet but wants to show his loyalty to Trump beyond all else. If you look at his feed, he is trying to sell an ugly shoe to idiots and this is how he wants to go about doing it.
