Damn that sucks... when Canyon Lake levels are up it's a blast.

  • How many ramps are open on Canyon Lake now due to low water levels??
  • What's your favorite restaurant and bar hangouts around Canyon Lake?

Sattler has a handful of good restaurants.  Elio's is one (Italian).  Startzville has one good Italian joint called Gennaro's that people drive from SA, NB, and San Marcos to dine at.  If you're looking for a bar scene that's going to be Gruene.  Lots of stuff over there.  It has gotten beyond touristy, however.

Gennaro's is the real-deal.  We stay at a cabin out there from time to time, and that's a nice dinner spot.

6.2” in my part of Comal County.

It was loud. Wife was up all night.

Props to you for being honest. I tell women 6.5” - it’s not like they have a ruler on them.

Edit: never mind you’re talking about rain.

I measure from the bottom. More room for the ruler to slide back.

Never measure from the top...there's nothing but sadness up there.

Latest report from San Antonio is four dead and several missing from the flooding.

Something crazy happened, police say 15 cars got swept off the loop 410 access road and into the creek around 4am this morning. All at the Perrin beital area. Trucks and jeeps included.

to the point above about saturation, sandy creek flowing well on average rainfall last night. Man this is ready for a massive lake fill if we can hit triple 7’s on the slot machine.

And as I suspected, the rainfall next week has drifted southwards. If this were to verify, the lakes would get a really nice bump going into summer.

At least the LBJ and Buchanan watersheds got a few inches.

Yacht Rock talk not going away.

Oh and Kyrie is not yacht rock.  Too much synth and the chorus hits way closer to 80s anthem rock.

Anyway, it's never going to rain again.

Yeah, Yacht Rock ended in 1983. At least that’s what I argued in my dissertation.

fair enough but cajun seems more like a UB40 version imo.

Definitely the bigger hit.  My starter wife was a Neil Diamond freak, so I ended up learning almost his entire catalog.  I've heard enough for sure.

I love Neil Diamond.  I was always okay with him but didn't really know any of his older stuff.  It wasn't until getting to know @MaxHorn and hearing Diamondbag play several times, that I really grew to love his music.

If you haven’t sung What A Fool Believes in an exaggerated Michael McDonald vocal style, are you even alive?

my 17 year old is a 70's music fan first above all else. I get plenty of Neil Diamond. Play Me gets a ton of air time, I think it's one of his all time favs. But more than that, I'm so fucking tired of the Eagles, ugh.  But hey, he's down with Hall & Oates, Eric Clapton, JB and others so it's not all bad. and to keep this thread on track we do have a yacht rock playlist for the boat.  Mine is way more chill and arguably some isn't yacht rock at all, but we enjoy it.

I'll field this one: Yes, I'm just not old AF and/or have taste.

boat culture though is a bit different taste. I mean I have a pretty refined palate for music and I'll listen the hell out of Kenny Chesney on the boat and I can't stand his music elsewhere.

Hook'em ATL didn't specify being on a boat in his Michael McDonald jerking-off-while-crying moment of being alive. But careful on that slippery slope. "It's different on a boat, on a boat, Michael Jackson and Diddy are fine." I'm going to go with a crime against humanity still being a crime against humanity, I don't care whether or not you're in international waters.

I've got a stable history of quarantining what would otherwise be poor musical taste to only a boat play list. but I hear you.

The fact that we've discussed yacht rock, and even shared playlists with some of his music on it, and NOT focused on the greatness that is Gerry Rafferty and over-the-top 70's sax riffs....well, I have lost all respect for y'all.

I didn't have much before, but what I had, I've lost.  Baker Street?  Right Down the Line?  Man, light a fire, pour a glass of whiskey, and let the mellow perfection roll over ya.

What does this have to do with rain?  Well, hell....yacht rock is nice to have rocking along on a nice rainy day.
