Pretty sneaky of you to put one actual fact in that list but not revealing which one is true.

I thought it was interesting that he couldn’t find a single negative thing in Parker Livingstone’s game to be negative about.

Wouldn't that be a positive?

Blake Munroe

As you all know by now, summer workouts started at the beginning of this month.

I can confirm that everyone has made it to campus. This includes the incoming freshmen that weren’t early enrollees and all portal players.

I’m told that workouts are going very well, but that they are extremely difficult. Some days include both a morning session, followed by a mid to late afternoon session.

Player accountability amongst the team seems to be a driving point this summer. Older players are taking younger players under their wing at their positions and trying to “show them the ropes” as much as possible.

As far as the portal players go, one name that was mentioned was TE Jack Endries. The former Cal product was described as being “all business” and has impressed from the get-go.

“He’s very technical. It’s just getting the terminology down more than anything. He’s going to do great.”

—

Team chemistry is always something to worry about when bringing in multiple new faces and, although it’s still early, that doesn’t sound like an issue up to this point. Everyone seems to be fitting in just fine.

Speaking of new faces, freshman Justus Terry continues to draw rave reviews.

“He’s just a freak,” a source said. “Inside, outside…. It doesn’t matter. He’s going to be scary good. Where ever they line him up, he’s going to make plays.”

Freshman Nick Townsend is running with the 3s currently. That shouldn’t come as a surprise, since he just stepped onto campus about ten days ago, but I’m told he looks impressive from both a physical and athletic standpoint.

As expected, QB Arch Manning has jumped headfirst into a leadership role both on and off the field.

“He’s not afraid to speak up and tell you exactly what he expects of you,” a source told OTF.

Manning is trying to get as much extra work as possible this offseason with his skill players, in hopes of rapidly building chemistry amongst them. This includes throwing sessions, going over the playbook, etc.

One person to keep an eye on in the passing game is TE Jordan Washington. It sounds like they will use him out wide to make him a threat in the passing game.

Backup QB KJ Lacey continues to impress. His football IQ appears to be shining through.

“It’s hard to believe he’s a freshman.”

Safety Michael Taaffe has really stepped up from a leadership standpoint.

“He’s takes it very seriously and is trying to make the most of his final year. Even the way he takes care of his body is on a whole different level.”

Both Jelani McDonald and Wardell Mack were two names mentioned as someone who will have a big season this year.

Finally, I’m told that EDGE Colin Simmons confidence level is through the roof after a monster freshman season.

Apparently when he said he wanted to break the sack record, he truly meant it.

"The offense has pretty been unstoppable this spring, with the offensive line opening huge holes against the starting defense with running backs ten yards downfield before they are touched. Arch and the WRs are looking unstoppable catching the perfect passes, and break every tackle and score on virtually every play.

The starting defense is penetrating and disrupting every offensive play, with the running backs unable to make it to the line of scrimmage. The WR's are unable to get separation and Arch looks befuddled against the secondary."

Zero surprise there

I guess I am a little surprised. You know they don’t like to go to a location hosting Big Noon and the game being played on Fox at noon. It’s not like the weekend is bereft of other big games. That said, I’m all for it.

Most likely the biggest factor in that is Corso’s last show. If he was already gone, or not leaving yet, they may have went elsewhere.

And he'll likely go out donning one of his favorites to pick - the Hook'Em headgear.

#1 vs #2 (most likely) and a rematch of the semis

No way they weren't going.

That is 100% the decision plus it's a much bigger game than the others that weekend even though there are other big games. It was also the first place that Lee Corso ever put on the head gear and it will be the last. Now I am sad :( Will miss Corso and will miss him even more so because he's basically replaced by that hypocritical douche waffle Nick Saban. God damn one of the best game day moments last year was Shane Gillis calling his ass out and looking visibly pissed about it.

Yeah? Well there’s a great barbecue out back, but don’t touch that.

They literally did this last year for Texas and Michigan, also on Fox Big Noon.

If Simmons somehow meets his goal and breaks the single season sack record of 22.5, I'll be thoroughly impressed.  Though I'm still not sure how Kiki did that playing in the early 80s SWC.  Unless they counted a tackle for loss of the QB on an option play as a sack.

Meh, I have to think he will go out the same way he started. Putting on brutus for the last time, just for the poetic completion.

He will pick Ohio State even if Texas is a 10 point favorite

Starts and ends with Brutus.  His last time doing it will not be to be booed by a bunch of Ohio State trash.

I thought it would be close to 50/50 with this game or Florida State and LSU since he played at FSU.  So, I am slightly surprised.

Florida State coming off of a 2-10 season?

No, Lee picking that game for his last since he played and coached there.  Oh, and I see I made an error, FSU vs Alabama, not LSU.

1. Colin Simmons, Texas

Simmons entered college with a ton of hype as a top-15 overall recruit and has somehow already exceeded expectations. The Texas native was the sixth-most-valuable edge defender in the nation according to PFF’s wins above-average metric. He trailed only Abdul Carter, Jack Sawyer, Mike Green, Josaiah Stewart and JT Tuimoloau in that metric. Simmons ended up winning the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award, which is given to the best true freshman in America.

His 18.6% pressure rate was a top-15 mark in the nation, and he was no slouch as a run-defender either, posting a 73.4 run-defense grade. Simmons’ elite combination of bend and advanced pass-rushing moves is reminiscent of Von Miller

Night game in Lexington will be a blast. My buddies and I are staying in Lousiville, going to be fun.

But they don't like to do it even though they do it a lot!

Congrats on aligning with billfromlaketravis with the snark here.

The two crews are on location, each, more than 15 times each season. They overlap one another less than 20% of the time even though most weeks in a season have one clear marquee game. That sure is “a lot”. Also, participants on both programs have remarked publicly over the years that they prefer to be at their own unique settings.

One of either Lindy’s or Athlon, if not both of them, has Dylan Stewart ranked ahead of Simmons going into the season. Stewart is an excellent player, but Simmons put up better numbers. I’d take CS every time in a draft.

ESPN ranks each program from a position of strength for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

Texas checks in at No. 1. Oklahoma and A&M both fall outside of the top 25.

https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/45441475/college-football-2025-future-power-rankings-every-team

SEC with five of the top 10 teams, Big-10 with three.

I don’t necessarily disagree that it doesn’t happen a lot, but I would argue that it happens a lot when Fox is showing the marquee game of the weekend, as is the case week 1.

Big Noon never goes to a different site, even if they’re showing something terrible at noon, whereas ESPN generally seems to pick the biggest game unless there are multiple games that are really close.

Didn’t Big Noon go to a CU game in 23 that didn’t air on Fox?
