So the article you posted was propaganda?  Why post it?

And the ramming video you claim as evidence has a different vehicle than the one the person who was shot was driving - allegedly

My fault for reading the article you posted instead of just taking your word for it.

ya know, you could just pull the mask off like your peer Chrispy did - it's really a beating to have a founding member of the Rittenhouse fan club constantly lie and derail the topic of ICE going gestapo on people.

let's try and dumb it down for you:

Yes or no: do you think ICE is going overboard?

So a shitload of Texas NG members were stuck in shitty conditions along the border, expected to act as Border Patrol/ICE (while getting paid less and being taken away from jobs, college, family, etc.) and now 400 are going to be in Chicago in the winter, again, getting paid less (and away from family, college, jobs, etc.).

Going to do wonders for retention and recruitment.

One of our neighbors who is in the NG said if he is forced to go up there, he's going to use it a chance to job hunt and interview and see what the market is offering.  He wasn't joking around. Granted, he's got 20+ years in, had a solid military career, has a solid civilian career (he could work in any large city - and Portland and Chicago fit the bill for him), and his youngest is about to graduate high school. He's made it abundantly clear that he is going to bail on the Texas NG as soon as the right opportunity presents itself (and may even go back to active duty if he can get things to line up with his future plans). He's at Mabry for his NG commitments, so he's probably pretty clued in on what's happening.

I imagine that a lot of members who are not in as good of a position as he is, are even more ready to bail - this shit is fucking with their schooling/civilian careers, all to try and help Abbott get noticed by Trump (won't happen).

Your commitment to reading things incorrectly is impressive.

Surprise, in times of economic downtown or job instability, military enlistment goes up - always has, always will. So that's not quite the bragging point you think it is, but you also wouldn't be the first to try to use that as a positive. When the economy is steady or growing in a healthy manner, guess what, enlistment drops.

And a shitload of people have joined in recent years because ACASP is giving them a leg up (Trump was not responsible for that, it goes back to Obama and was being expanded under Biden, although the groundwork was laid under Bush). Lot of people who were on the fence are willing to join if they get credit for their civilian work and certifications (i.e. come in at a higher rank/more pay with $5,000 - $20,000 bonuses on top of that).  Toss in a shitty economy and them getting credit for their civilian background, and yeah, enlistment will rise.

But I suggest you talk to people who had to suspend their schooling or decent jobs so that Abbott or other state governors can get Trump's attention, all the while they are mocked by the locals and having their photos plastered all over social media. Publicly, they won't dare say shit for fear of being reprimanded, and the younger ones will say whatever they feel they need to say to not end up on anybody's shitlist.  But when those who have been around are waiting on their kids after school and hanging with other parents, or they are sitting around at their kid's soccer or volleyball practice or camping out and spending a lot of time with other scout parents and shooting the shit, yeah, they have lots to say.
