This is...interesting?

Is he going to trade Charlie Condon and every other prospect for Wander Franco or something?

.. guess that was the Browns problem .. a baseball guy doin’ their strategy for the past 9 years.

What are the odds on Munetaka Murakami being the next 3rd baseman for the Dodgers?

Pretty high. Their working on a $1.5 Billion contract payable through 2075.

You know that contract was a genius idea, but only possible because of Ohtani being Japanese and being raised in an entirely different culture. There is not one single American baseball player that would’ve done that.

Plenty would if they were clearing $100 million annually in endorsements. It is smart business. He is more valuable on a championship team.

so two superstars (witt and tatis) win the platinum glove despite being nowhere near the best defenders at their own positions. awards are stupid.

well i shouldn’t say neither. witt is great, but i don’t think he’s the best defensive player in the AL. tatis is nowhere close.

I didn't recall that either, but it was mentioned in the release I got last night. Can't recall if the silver slugger is a similar vote or not. I don't think so, but can't say for sure without looking it up.

Here's the Silver Slugger release. No mention of a fan vote:

Quote

For the second-consecutive season, Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. has been named a winner of the 2025 Louisville Slugger Silver Slugger Award, as announced by Louisville Slugger.

Bobby Witt Jr.’s 2025 MLB All-Star campaign included 184 hits and 47 doubles which led all Major League players. He hit for an impressive .295 batting average, .852 OPS, and crushed 23 homers as well. Congratulations, Bobby!

Here's the Plat Glove release:

Quote

Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. has been named the winner of the 2025 American League Rawlings Platinum Glove Award. This marks Bobby Witt Jr.’s first career Rawlings Platinum Glove Award. Congratulations to our defensive superstar!

The Rawlings Platinum Glove Award honors the best individual defensive performances in both the American League and National League. Winners were chosen by fan voting.

Guessing they would have included the fan vote blurb in the other as well, but who knows.
