Holy shit, from down the article:

"The Hornets currently lead the nation with 50 transfer portal additions, including notable names like former Texas running back Savion Red, ex-Longhorn receiver Agiye Hall, and former Georgia and Arizona State quarterback Jaden Rashada."

"Build an entire program out of D1 spare parts and castoffs" is quite the strategy. We'll see how it works out.

Sounds like they should just swap rosters with Nagy at OU every year.

I didn’t realize Marion took the Sacramento St job. Seems like he would have had a higher probability path to success by being a coordinator for a few years and then taking a more prominent head coaching job. The rumors about him always having one foot out the door in any job is obviously true. That strategy can work but he better damn well win.

He was the OC at UNLV the past two years. His HC Barry Odom left for Purdue, Marion probably could have gotten another decent OC job, UNLV won 9 and then 11 games with him, but I think he just really wants a shot to run his own program.

I don't know anything about Sacramento but they seem to be huge spenders the last couple of years.
Going for big time hires and buying recruits.  I'd guess they're using NIL to become a name in the sports world.

Pretty sure they’re putting it out through media channels that they have much more money than they actually do, at one point people on twitter were reporting they had 50 million which is laughable.

Mike Bibby’s only coaching experience is HS and that was from 2015-2019, Shaq has no experience in a GM role at all, Brennan Marion took the best HC offer he could get. None of these guys were money whipped away from better programs, they’re just the one willing to give them a shot for the publicity associated with their names.

As far as recruiting their HS class was ranked in the 120’s and their transfer class is full of P5 washouts and big name busts. They haven’t pulled a single name that I’m aware of that had significantly better offers.

On3 Andy and Ari had Marion on they show this week and he can across as trying to be Temu Deion Sanders and Colorado.

When they get Sydir Mitchell and Johntay Cook next year, they are going to be really loaded.

Omeire was one of those former Texas players on Az State bragging about the superior culture there… and he bolts for Las Vegas? Lulz. I look forward to hearing about his next portal stop next year, because he doesn’t seem to run out of eligibility.

How so?

Admittedly my memory is shot, but of the names on that list Denver Harris is one that not only didn't live up to expectations but had associated off the field issues.

JoJo Earle...I can't believe that guy was the class of 2021. At this point he feels like a fucking Charlie Strong recruitment.

There was a similar diminutive wr that chose UCLA back in the strong days that o always confuse him with

It was Ryan Newsome. He originally chose UCLA but flipped to use on signing day. He transfered to ASU after a season. I want to think his mom refused to sign his LOI, but I could have him confused with another player whose mom wanted him at Texas.

Even before that, there was a kid named, I think, Jerrell Wilkerson who never made it to campus.

That dude was a small TB from San Antonio. Think he had a kid or two and ultimately decided he couldn't be away from them or some such. That whole 90 minutes between Austin and SA was just too much.

Ive been thinking about this since the draft. Tumise Adeleye was throwing shade at our favorite vollyball player Princely Umanmielen. Calling him 3 tech.  And basically disrespecting the kid.

well ol Princley is in the league as a 3rd rounder. And Tumise is on his 4th School? After his last school, I forget the circumstances. Just that it looked like the last bounce. Im really suprised to see him out there with eligibility left.

it's always refreshing to see a little karma in the mean old world

Wasn’t the story that he did a literal coin flip on signing day?

So when Justin Williams transfers here after the season, he'll be a great role player. I would like to think in the back of his brain matter that he knows he should have thought his recruitment through before pulling the trigger. Now he's stuck behind CJ Allen. Kids are very fickle, so I wonder if he comes home?

Doesn't matter at the end of the day. It's just an exercise.

For those who know the difference between LBs, which side would he play?

Now that he sees Sark, PK, and Nansen are witches. He made his decision based on Kirby selling him huckster potion. Now he sees Sark and co. aren't fucking around. UGA takes 2 of ours, and now we're coming back to reclaim what's ours.

Next up we're poaching Joseph Jonah-Ajonya. We caj never have enough room for for a DT. Bo Davisbis  a lazy crust stain that he didn't even bother following up on him since he was high on Texas.  Thank God he's LSU's problem now. I'm sure he's changed Sydir Mitchell mentally and physically. /s

I'm also not backing away that we land Guervil by December.

I can’t fault anyone for that.
