Oh the very first people to text me and also hit FB were my hater friends, even though they know I'm not vested in the Cowboys any more.  I tease one of them that he cares more about Dallas than I ever did.

Yeah I have a friend like that. I always tell him he's a bigger Cowboys fan than I am. He texted me like 5 mins after the trade yesterday. I didn't see it for an hour because I was busy and just texted back the "Oh no! Anyway..." gif.

It's a horrible trade for numerous reasons.   Imagine the haul they could have gotten in March if they put it out they were going to trade him pre-draft.   THAT could have been something like the Herschel trade.  Instead, they traded him when they had a gun to their head.  Beyond idiotic.

Yeah, any spin on this besides Jerry Jones being a fucking idiot is laughable.

If you truly wanted to deal Micah, you do it before the Draft when teams have more resources and you can spend the picks pronto.  If you're trading away a future HoFer in his prime at one of the most important positions in football, why the fuck are you paying tippy-top dollar for Dak and CeeDee?  Are you rebuilding or are you trying to be competitive now?  Plus you've got a brand new coach and you've dumped this in his lap a week before the season starts.  I'm sure he's thrilled about that.

If I was anyone at the top of the Cowboy's org I'd be looking to have Jerry sent to the nursing home and getting power of attorney.  Non compos mentis.

The gut punches and the punchlines from this will continue for ages. Just wait until the next Cowboys star with the same agent is ready for a new deal. Jerry won't deal with him, it will go about the same. Shitty.

Micah seems to have sort of a child-like mentality. He got manipulated by Jerry thinking they were all in and agreeing to a handshake deal, being a Cowboy for life like he wanted. Then he got manipulated by his agent to stage this tantrum hold-in bullshit so he could put on the squeeze for a deal that sounds more impressive, but probably not that much different. Neither Jerry or Micah got what they really wanted. The team didn't get what they wanted, some false hope of relevance and thinking Jerry cares about them and will take care of them. Probably half of them are counting the days until they can walk for more money and a better situation. The other half are scrubs or has-beens just happy to get a check for having a star on their hat. Cowboys fans get fucked again, losing any hope of being less shitty for any reasonable period of time.

Heard Dan Patrick and Colin's take.  Colin liked the trade.  Said they know they're not gonna win even with Micah.  Next year's draft is stronger.

JMO.  Jerry wants one last run with a big name QB. He's going to move Dak and their #1 (likely top 7) to get into the Allar/Arch sweepstakes

Jones runs the Cowboys like a Vietnamese family running a donut shop in SoCal.

Keep it all in the family so you manage costs down internally and no one ever questions the boss.

He is surrounded by "Yes men" all telling him how brilliant he is 24x7. His kids have no juice and they have been sucking off daddy' s teats for 30+ years.

Now the grandkids are getting jobs at team and the cycle will continue. This team is doomed until either A) a competent Jones (if one exists) is at helm or B) JJ dies and Stephen opts to be owner vs GM and hires someone competent

I feel bad for Cowboys fans.

I used to think that if Jerry ever went down in a plane crash, the franchise might be saved. Over time, he started giving the kids more responsibility, and I thought maybe the immediate family might all have to be on the plane together.

Now it seems like it will need to be a much larger plane with multiple generations, nephews, nieces, cousins, etc. on board to completely get rid of the rot.

Vegas disagrees.   For this year anyway

Unsurprisingly, the Super Bowl odds for both teams were impacted by the blockbuster deal. Green Bay's odds improved from +2200 (22-to-1) to +1300 (13-to-1), per Bet MGM. Dallas' Super Bowl odds went from +5000 (50-to-1) to +6000 (60-to-1).

what does a 30 year parlay of Dallas not winning the SB pay?

A real coach would have been able to deal with Micah rather than tucking tail and immediately getting rid of him.

The first time Parsons looked at the offensive alignment and started switching positions and doing whatever the hell he wants Jimmy would have definitely dealt with him.

You know Michael did shit in the offense...even under Troy's watch.

NOt sure Jimmy would say shit if the effort was there, and therein lies the rub with Parsons and how he'd operate under Jimmy.

Ultimately they're never going to win again because the Joneses don't care about winning. Ultimately I'm mad that I'm mad about the trade.  I wish I could wipe them from my life. I just can't.

the boys are a cosplay phantasm of an actual nfl franchise

jerry jones created a golden calf, himself, and the football gods took note

he's going to die oblivious to the reality he has created

as long as he lives, we're not winning fuckall

he single-handedly destroyed a machine that was set to win 4 or 5 in a row

How the F is he going to move Dak?  Putting the no trade clause aside, it's a god awful contract nobody would want. Good luck with that Jerry if that is his plan.

Some lowly franchise will want draft capital and daks star power.  Veteran leadership too

There's no way the Manning family allows Arch to become the Jones family's next scapegoat QB

I know a lot of people don't like Broaddus because he carries Jerry's water too much, but I think this finally made him snap. Hilarious ... "10 years of Jason fucking Garrett? Are you kidding me? Come on, man"

Seriously,  just step back from watching them at all for the next 2 seasons then follow Arch wherever he goes
