Feels like Avery Johnson has been KSU's QB forever, and he's only a Junior?!?!

He still kinda sucks tho.

Got off to a quick start as a true freshman. Was fond of driving a purple corvette around town. I always thought if he’d park the car and sit in the film room instead, he could pull all the trim he wanted later.

beats NFL pre season for sure

Hoping KU/Fresno and Hawaii/Stanford are fun too

Idaho State apparently giving UNLV a hell of a time and of course it's not available to stream anywhere that I can find.

Feels weird not having Farmageddon in the middle of a snowstorm but hell of a game to kick off the season at least.

That first half was some of the worst football I’ve seen in a while

That can mainly be attributed to the weather, IMO.

Farmageddon was definitely entertaining.  It also seemed as if it was broadcast in 4K.  Maybe it was just my drinking ass standing 6’ from the TV for most of the game.

The long haired Dirt Burgler (Dusty) and Dave P did a great job painting a picture too.  Pre-game close ups of Dusty made me feel even older, as I’m a decade+ ahead of him in years.

I thought the camera and booth work were really good.

There was a YouTube posted on the Hawaii thread. I didn't check it so your mileage may very.

I agree -- dunno how well the traditional broadcast showed, but I watched the skycast, and the skycam was literally dripping all over the field from the moisture; the ball and the field were damp and slippery, too. All 4 of those first half fumbles and at least two ISU incompletions were due to slippery ball/field.

The reason I didn’t go to Dublin was because my home town was having its 125th. My dad drove this IH 1206 on our farm float, with his glass of Black Velvet riding on the fender.

Didn’t spill a drop.

That experience is worth WAY more than any college football game ever would be.

You do you -  Al-4-ISU!  Have a great season.  Really like Coach Campbell and glad he’s stayed with y’all, instead of trying to resurrect another program.  Looking at Matt on the sidelines baffles the uninformed that he was actually a 270+LB lineman.  Just saying.

Sportsurge

Every game, every sporting event. I've been overseas most of the last five years, it's been really useful for me.

Iowa State is famous for SA to load up on the Natty Light when they come to the Alamo Bowl - pre, during, and post game!  Great traveling fan base! Gracias

Al_4_ASU -  love your posts on a Longhorn board.  Hopefully the farming season is profitable for you and your family.  I totally understand as my extended family are rice farmers. I wish the Cyclones the best of luck this season and get that 1st B12 Championship!

Imagine the Guinness you could’ve drank if you did make the trip to Ireland.  Maybe not as much as Pat McAffey from the previous season.  Totally wasted the day prior to Game Day!  But like my days in the military, Pat showed up like a champion!

This is the kind of shit that happens when we suddenly change our color from dark purple to….lavender.

TCU switched to lavender in 1971 under Jim Pittman who died on the field in I believe Waco, they kept the lavender under the next coach who almost died in a car crash and only lost a foot.

When he had to quit due to the injuries from the car wreck the next coach switched back to the traditional royal purple but that was Shofner who was fucking terrible and he damn near killed TCU football so it isn't the shirts as much as the players in the shirts and the coaches from my perspective.

Nothing surprising. The game was in Ireland. There’s a reason the stereotype is of fighting Irishmen.

Will probably a long trip home for those folks. May need to drink a lot more.
