A "boring" Week Two saw a massacre of the mid-ranked teams, as more teens went down than [EXTREMELY DISTASTEFUL ANALOGY REDACTED].

#12 Arizona State, #13 Florida, #15 Michigan, and #17 SMU all bit the dust. G5s had a hell of a week, with South Florida (hello again, Billy!), Ohio, and Army all upseting Power 4 teams.

From midafternoon onwards, it's a full slate of exciting SEC action as we get a jump on conference play.

Thursday

NC State @ Wake Forest (-7) (7:30/6:30 ESPN): Dave Doeren is having one of his happy "I'm surprised they did so well!" 8-4 seasons that he alternates with his "They've underperformed my expections" 8-4 seasons. What is it with ag schools and that record?  Wake Forest is trying to recover from Clawson's late retirement and a bare bones roster, which meant they played a home nailbiter with Kennesaw State last week.

Friday

Colorado @ Houston (-6) (7:30/6:30 ESPN): Which lower-tier Big XII school is better? Colorado isn't as good as Georgia Tech. Houston has pounded SFA and Rice, which tells us nothing.

Kansas State @ Arizona (Pick 'em) (9/8 Fox): K-State has been badly afflicted by the Irish Loser Curse, already picking up a brutal transitive loss to Tarleton State. Hello Army Football:

bafkreig4yh7q3475q7yhlhyz5grw2hejbc7sk7k

Arizona wallopped Hawaii, but otherwise not much known about them.

New Mexico @ UCLA (-14) (10/9 BTN): If Nico and his buddies can't handle the Lobos, we need to have a conversation about the future of UCLA football. That UNLV loss was ROUGH.

Saturday

Early

#12 Clemson (-6) @ Georgia Tech (12/11 ESPN): A massive game in Atlanta for the fate of the ACC! Clemson has been powerfully underwhelming, losing a season opener to Brian Kelly and getting in a 0-16 hole to Troy. Georgia Tech won in Boulder and generally looks like a very competent football team. Buzz buzz, Dabo!

Wisconsin @ #19 Alabama (-19) (12/11 ABC): I can't believe Wisconsin is this bad. I thought Fickell was going to do really well in Madison. Oops. They barely scraped by Miami of Ohio at home. This should be very ugly.

#4 Oregon (-25) @ Northwestern (12/11 FOX): Want to see a beating in a beautiful place? Oregon comes to Northwestern's temporary lake cottage to administer pain.

#13 Oklahoma (-28) @ Temple (12/11 ESPN2): What a weird fucking game. The meth trailers trundle north to the homeland of fentanyl trafficking. Hope PPD has Narcan.

Mid Afternoon

#6 Georgia (-7) @ #15 Tennessee (3:30/2:30 ABC): The first massive SEC showdown of the year is in Neyland. Gunner Stockton! Joey Aguilar! Feel the excitement!

Pitt (-6) @ West Virginia (3:30/2:30 ESPN): BACKYARD BRAWL. Are these teams good? No, WVU just lost to THE Ohio University and Pitt hasn't played anyone. But oh my is the hate real.

#14 Iowa State (-20) @ Arkansas State (4/3 ESPN2): Iowa State schedules the weirdest fucking out of conference home and aways. Have fun in -checks notes- Jonesboro, Clones fans!

UTEP @ #7 Texas (-38) (4:15/3:15 SECN): Another cupcake on the trolley. Fewer penalties this time around, please.

#18 South Florida @ #5 Miami (-15) (4:30/3:30 CW): The biggest game EVER on the CW! South Florida's been a rolling ball of butcher knives to start the season. The Bulls won their last game in part due to stupid penalties and awful clock management, so they're already used to Mario Cristobal Brand Football.

Primetime (aka the SEC Variety Hour)

#16 Texas A&M @ #8 Notre Dame (-6) (7:30/6:30 NBC): Catholics vs. Cultists! The sheeple head to South Bend (carefully avoiding the very scary environs of Chicago) to face a wounded Domers squad.

Florida @ #3 LSU (-8) (7:30/6:30 ABC): Billy Napier's roaming comedy troupe heads to Baton Rouge straight off their uproarious home welcome to the visitors from Tampa. That said, Florida has talent, and doesn't this just feeeel like the kind of game Brian Kelly would lose?

Arkansas @ #17 Ole Miss (-10) (7/6 ESPN): Lane Kiffin LOVES losing stupid, chaotic games to Arkansas. This could be another in a long line of brainless melees.

Vanderbilt @ #11 South Carolina (-7) (7:45/6:45 ESPN): Diego Pavia just murdered Brent Bry's career with a furious second half comeback in Blacksburg.

However, he comes up against Dylan Stewart, LaNorris Sellers and.... some other guys. If Vandy wins, start selling your portfolio.

RIP Pac 12 After Dark

Boston College (-9) @ Stanford (10:30/9:30 ACCN): Stanford catches the Eags after a crushing overtime loss in East Lansing (see below). This might be their best chance at a P4 win. Also, why the fuck is this a conference game?

Texas State @ Arizona State (-13) (10:30/9:30 TNT): Speaking of needing to bounce back after a horrifying loss, here come the Sun Devils! Will they get angry, or will Texas State catch them with their pants down?

Minnesota (-2) @ California (10:30/9:30 ESPN): Minnesota might be immune to the cold fog blanketing Berkeley at night. That said, Cal's new QB looks like he might be the truth.
