This is a good summary of this team.

I think part of the reason I'm not freaking out yet about this season in particular (and I haven't seen even close to enough to freak out about the program as a whole) is because of how crazy the variance has been this season in college football. It doesn't matter how good you are - it feels like there are legitimately 30 or 40 teams that if you catch them on the wrong week they can fuck your Saturday up. Florida is one of those teams regardless of what their record was going in and Texas found out.

Hopefully Texas got a couple of losses out of the way early and can be on the right side of the coin-flips we have left on the schedule. Need to start this week. Lose against OU and barring a miracle it's a rebuild season where you probably need to make a couple changes to the coaching staff. Win this week and next week and get some momentum going and Texas is right back to being a playoff contender.

Joel Klatt mentioned this on SAT. Teams are becoming more evenly matched like the NFL. Any given SAT for P5's. We beat OU and go on a run, yes this team could see some confidence and momentum. Arch is getting better, the line just needs to figure out how to at least get in the way of thier guys. This team also needs some fire, they look bored running out on new series. Sark also needs someone on the staff to light their ass up like Mad Dog.

If our defense does get a stop. At least we will have a good chance to watch a 40 yard punt roll for 25 yards past niblett

If it weren’t for these catastrophic issues, we’d probably be pretty damn good, man.

Sark's got a two week head start on OU, which is more than he needs.  He's got friends in every town and village from here to Asswater, knows a dozen route combinations, knows every type of outside zone.  He'll nut up, coach for his life, and get the offense rolling.  With any luck, he's got the Golden Hat already.

Arch Manning plays RB. Caldwell at QB

Fuck yes. Another chance to pitch my patented 2 QB system. First iteration was Thompson/Card, then Quinn/Arch, now Arch/Caldwell. Here's how this one goes.

Caldwell takes the snap. He keeps the ball for all short throws.

For intermediate and deep throws, he checks to see whether the DT is running past our LG/C untouched. The default read is that the DT has thoroughly embarrassed Stroh/Brooks/Hutson, in which case he hands the ball to Arch so that Arch can try to evade the DT and make the throw. If the defense had a communication issue and had no DL on the field at the snap, Caldwell keeps and makes the pass.

On run plays, Caldwell can do whatever the hell he wants because he and Arch are both perfectly capable of running for what's blocked and going down on first contact.

Our offensive line sucks.

Arch kind of sucks, but sometimes he’s good.

Our defense is good, but sometimes they suck (UF first drive + 55 yd pass TD)

OU most definitely sucks 100% of the time from the very beginning of time until an eternity from now.

Fuck OU in the ass with an AIDS infested dick.

What benefit does Venables have to be forthcoming about his status

I would assume the SEC is tracking injury report accuracy, and if there's enough evidence over time that a program is being intentionally misleading with their report, then there will be consequences?

Okay, as I was typing that out I realized that there's no way the SEC is going to make anyone accountable for blatant injury report gamesmanship.

Most people here thought he would be "Doubtful" if not "Out"

What other people thought doesn’t mean questionable equates to “Mateer is going to play”
