This is where I’m at. Anyone that has ever been around head football coaches will know how they are and how they process a game. Most games are a few plays here and there from being a different game and while we view it from a fans perspective which is we expect to win 42-3, sark is going off what he sees as a head coach which is we lost at Ohio st 14-7 and at Florida 29-21 and both game we were driving to tie the game and both game we had drives that should have ended in a touchdowns but didnt(tosu fumble at the 1, two missed wide open td passes vs Florida).

Sark sees us 4 plays away from being undefeated right now and thinks he would get the angst if we had lost 35-7 in both games.

Not sure why everyone expects him to say anything different when he also gets softball questions from the media.

Texas should have won that game by 4 scores and I'm not exaggerating. That's how bad Florida is and how good Texas can be. Instead we got whatever the fuck it was we got on Saturday and called it "close to a victory" as a coaching staff. Unacceptable.

We were talking about this on drive back from game.  I don't get it.  On offense (OL in particular) it's clearly a personnel clusterfuck that Sark and his staff completely mismanaged or misevaluated.  But I don't get the defense as we've watched these same guys completely dominate.  I'm trying to think back to the last game (even a game we won) where what was on paper an inferior unit completely outplayed us.  Maybe OU in 2023 when Gabriel went off?  Washington scored a lot of points in '23 but that was a really good offense and Penix played an elite game.  Lagway played solid but our D flat out just got whipped at the LOS and we haven't seen that in forever.

This one isn't hard.  The interior DL is not playing nearly as well against legit competition as we have seen the last 2-3 years.  Like the Oline that infects a lot of things.  On running plays lanes are not clogged up, our interior gets pushed back and our LBs are dealing with more traffic at the second level and not as free to flow to ball carriers.  On passing plays the quickest way to fuck a QB up is to collapse the middle of their line right back in his face (you know what this looks like, you saw Florida do it to us all day).  When that happens the QB has two choices, he can start to flow to one side or another and into a DE like Simmons, or he can continue to drop (a QE3 favorite) again putting himself in the spot most DE pass rushes naturally tend to end up.  What happens right now is a nice tidy pocket forms and QB steps into it and delivers the ball.

A true freshman being part of the plan going forward tells you all you need to know about OL personnel.

Are there freshmen OL/DL that they'd consider removing the redshirts?

If we hear of a players only meeting then we know we're truly fucked this season.

Rod Babers was saying they should have one to make sure everyone is on the same page. Because something wrong and the leaders (if there are any) on the team are not holding people accountable.

I think the team was arrogant enough to believe the records and their preseason hype and expected to show up and win.

That's culture, and it falls to Sark.

I hope I’m completely wrong but it’s starting to feel like the comment about reporters’ faces when they take a shit was the inflection point to the downfall of this team’s season (and possibly Sark’s career at Texas). Something about that comment really fucking rubbed me the wrong way and felt like some shit fuckface Herman would say. I really don’t like how Sark has handled this season and his lack of awareness about our situation is starting to show in his comments to the media.

I missed it, what was the quote?

The best team in the country couldn't beat Florida by 4 scores so a mediocre team shouldn't be expected to do so.  Florida's got a good defense and that itself will prevent them from being completely run off the field in any game it plays.

Texas isn't a good team right now. Again, it's mediocre. There are parts in place that could enable them to become a good team but the coaching staff seems to have no idea or clue on how to improve upon the many deficiencies that exist.  That's the scary part.

We had great team leaders on both sides of the ball last year....do we have that this year....besides Taffe?    Also, are the portal players that are playing buying into the "Horns" culture that took Sark some time to change?

All that preseason chatter about our defense breaking sack records now seems a million years ago. Have Collins, Burke, Spence and Hill really combined for just 2.5 sacks in 5 games? That total literally would have been an average Saturday for Kiki DeAyala.

This is one of the most mystifying things on the season for me. Not only sacks but we're 99th in TFLs. It's basically the same players and coaches so what happened?

This. Not sure why anyone expects anything but coachspeak in pressers and that's for every coach nationwide. What do y'all think he's gonna say? He's not gonna openly tell the fucking media what he really thinks, nor should he

Watched the press conference and Sark has no answers on how to fix things. He's usually coy about what will happen next because he expects things to get fixed, but not this time. Today, he just said we need to coach better and play better. Although he did hint at what needs to be done to beat OU. He said that no one has made OU's defense pay for being so aggressive. Well, with no OL, how do you make them pay is what Sark has to figure out? My money is on him being optimistic that the OL will do better and he'll create the ultimate game plan to beat OU, only to have it go to shit as he acts surprised that an OL that has played poorly for 5 games plays poorly during the 6th game.

Agreed with immamac. This was a piss poor performance against a 1-3 team. Just say that.

They missed 2 two walk-in touchdowns to guys that were wide fucking open, the OL kind of shit the bed

Kind of?

I think it was during the press conference after the SJSU game when he took a question about Manning grimacing so much during the game while passing the ball, raising the possibility that he’d injured a shoulder. Sark said something to the effect of: "Arch is fine. I don't know why y'all are focused on his facial expressions. We don't worry about the faces y'all (reporters) make sitting on the toilet."

This guy is in over his head. It's obvious. He'll be the head coach for one or two more seasons after this one and we'll have another reset, which is so sad given all the momentum we had going after the past couple of seasons and recent recruiting.

There is no demand for internal accountability. Not pride in process-driven culture. No commitment to winning. For a guy who worked under Nick Saban, he should have learned a thing or two in these regards. Chew someones ass, demand the right things, be honest in PCs, and fucking truthfully assess what you have and what you need in terms of roster needs. No excuse for this shitty OL.

How many NCs did Sark win with all those CFP trips? How many top 10 teams did he beat in the playoffs?

Doesn't matter. Those CFP appearances bought him job security through 2026 and probably 2027.

Errybody that's big enough and athletic enough needs to play.

If a guy's Good, he'll be NFL-bound soon enough. If he ain't, better to find out now.

I don't see a reset on the horizon.

A players-only meeting would need to be called for and led by the most visible player. The richest player. The player that has received the most hype in, potentially, the history of college football.

That player can't hit the broad side of a barn, much less lead a players-only meeting.

At this point, I'm curious how many losses Arch gets. It's not in Sark's DNA to change QBs mid-season. I wonder if and when he will pull the trigger...
