You're the film wizard... what's the logic here?  Like why waste valuable milliseconds in the pocket

With this OL

I can't help you bruh. It was dumb in the 80's. Even dumber now.

The script was nice but we cooled off offensively in the 2nd half. Too much big game hunting. We need to pull it back and just move the chains.

I suppose all the secondary busts for pig made that too tempting.

Washington is a 5th year RB portal baby.   Must have been out of our budget for 2025 cycle

Even many Surly posters were blind to how weak the RB room was. It held us back last year and people remembered Baxter being better than he was.

a smart team we are not. bad clock management. bad plays. bad drops. its fucking frustrating to watch. sark needs to do some serious reflecting on WHY his teams lack discipline and situational awareness, coaches to players to himself.

The discipline issues is what makes it so hard to watch.   I would feel like Muad fucking ib on another plane if we had a season like UGA with minimal flags.

Seeing Love doing what he is doing to Syracuse today reminds me what he did to Pig, they just toyed with Arky and that was in Fayetteville. It was a game Pig had circled. Notre Dame could have scored a 100 if they had wanted to.

Texas defense has been going downhill since MSU game, Hill being out shouldn't just cripple the defense and now we see Taaffe being out wasn't the reason either.

Watching 80s/90s QBs drop back gives me aids.

I know, right? I was watching UH back when Klinger was there.....ugh. Gross. QBs were so un-athletic back then.

Even Dan Marino, who I think was one of the great athletes to play the position, looked so weird dropping back.

It is insanely frustrating watching this team.

And this is my "entertainment".

I'm a fucking masochist, we all are.

Baxter showed flashes as a freshman and he was a megaprospect.  There were reasons to be excited to get him back from injury.

Our run blocking continues to be shit.  I think that is more to blame than individual regression by guys like Wisner, who was very good last year.

jags at DT are killing the defense. We brought in 4 of them. none of them has shown much. Losing the two nfl dbs also hurts tremendously. MT is a great college safety and vital for intelligence and leadership, but he alone is not a true difference maker. We have basically a good DB in MM, a good DE in Burk (sometimes), and two elite players in Simons and Hill. I thought McDonald would flash more. He certainly has the gifts but appears mostly lost in zone coverage.

That third down play was just stupid.   Move Arch out of the pocket.   He's got the wheels.   Let him use them.

Sark refuses to utilize QB mobility. He’s never going to.

I don't think Wisner has regressed at all.  He just gets little or no help.  Our line last year kinda sucked at run blocking too, just not as bad.

Worst 7 game steak in UT history?

Hey we won OU and Vandy!

Marino was my favorite NFL quarterback, but I wouldn't call him a "great athlete".

Awesome passer. So was Dan Fouts

Tre got huge chunks of yards last year with a great OL.  Over 1000.  Our biggest problem was ignoring the OL losses in the portal, IMO.

Our oline sucks so much, the backs need to be cut some slack. If you dont have that consistent push up front, you're not going to get the holes you need to make people miss at the second level.

He's not that bad.

I agree, but post injury he’s closer to Kyle Porter than Baxter pre-injury.

I drove to the 2023 ISU game from Denver and Baxter as a true freshman ran it down their throat for bruising 5 yards a clip in a statement game for the B12 title. After that thought he had a Benson like career in his future. Feel for him and his injuries, but he’s not the same.

I think Manning started 8-for-9 and finished 2-for-9. Not good.

Didn’t love the 2nd & 3rd down calls at the end of the half.  The formula in a game where teams are matching point-for-point was TD just before the half & TD receiving 2nd half kick.

Because he is an idiot

Compare that shit to what Kirby did to us to break the game open. Sark just has no game feel.

Baxter is never going to be the same, he had the time to get as healthy as he could. He has just lost a lot of ability from what he was due to all the injuries and why Texas when it was obvious what was going on didn't get a rb from the portal is baffling other than mismanagement. Yes, the back available was Justice Haynes and no offer was made.

This OL is pretty good at pass blocking, but you're right. We get little to no push in the running game.

They are spying him though.

They've kept a linebacker back near the line to spy him.  I haven't seen if they keep one there for every play or just passing downs.

Yep. Let's get back to the quick passing game. The RPO game was working too. There is a lot of meat on the bone.
