Defense could be better, it wasn’t good enough by definition because we didn’t win in close games against Georgia and Ohio state last year and under performed at times this year. The biggest hurdle is the last one, ruthlessly upgrade.

if he upgraded the D there’s no way he isn’t upgrading more of the O coaches too.  Maybe not an OC play caller but I’d bet really good money flood is out.

Look if this gets us past Georgia and Kirby Smart and Ohio State and Ryan Dillards Department store manager Day I am all for it. I just want to win and for the focus to be solely on the team. We got rid of some of bad hires so good. I didn’t consider PK a bad hire and I felt we did enough against good teams defensively that it was obvious our offense was the bigger issue for different reasons in different games but I think we all universally agree the OLine was shit and the play calling at times truly stunk.

Because this is the second hire we made from the Mack era. I forgot about Sark wanting to hire Muschamp in the first place, so maybe you're right.

Sark’s entire first defensive staff was centered around Muschamp being DC until his wife nixed the move to Austin. Wasn’t just “wanting” to hire Muschamp. He was the guy and we had to pivot

I think PK was a pretty damn good pivot imo. That was a great hire. I wish him well.

I haven’t read a single comment on the thread. I’ll just say there’s levels to anything. If you have a top 10-15 DC and you can get to top 5 with some juice, those are the improvements on the margin that take you higher.

it’s amazing how much it bothers people that some of us just don’t like the man BUT also want him to win. Why it bothers people i dont know. I want him to succeed and I also think he’s a morally bankrupt asshole. Both things can be true. But he better win.

Your people sound like wives that hear one side of bitching about a marriage from a friend that tells their friend and the description gets worse as the game of telephone goes on and the wives pile it on.  Or you could be correct but it sounds a lot like that.

Unfortunately we are by definition below the top of the SEC and CFP title contenders more so this year than last but both years. Offense needs work but you want to get over the last hurdle you have to go from really good to exceptional across the board. Muschamp is an upgrade that’s all that matters. Now keep upgrading, ruthlessly.

this is absolute insanity.  no one wants Muschamp as a head coach.

Back in the HCIW days most of the Shag did.

Then when it didn't happen and Mack over stayed his welcome.

No racism but I saw there’s a rumor that PK was sick of sark’s shit so you can run with that. Make sure you follow it with “I love my school” or “with all due respect” and whatever you say after that isn’t held against you apparently.

I am having a hard time processing all this, all I can hope that is it works. I find it sus that PK was fired. I would like to know why that happened and Flood keeps his job. As others have said PK has bailed out Sark’s bottom third of the entire FBS red zone offense the past three years. Wtf! 😳

hope it works 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

What’s funny is it bothers you that people have a right not to like Sark as a person but who also want UT to win and therefore want him to succeed so we can win. Besides why do you care what I think anyway? I don’t like the man. If you want to swing off his balls be my guest. Wear some gloves, 🧤

To be fair though, even if Sark had already fired himself as OC and Flood, and hired Kyle Shanahan as OC and I don't even know who as OL coach, this would be a bit of a head-scratcher.

Polack jokes are so 1980’s man. But surely someone has a good one.

How do you know if a Polish woman isn't wearing panties?

She has dandruff on her shoes.

Read that in a Polack joke book in the 80's.

Hating sark doesn’t bother me, but not long ago you were sure there was going to be a massive, dramatic shit show of epic proportions that Texas would have trouble recovering from. You posted about it at least a hundred times lol. Now you have some more inside info on PK being sick of sark’s shit. At some point it becomes obsessive and unhealthy. You have some weird hatred of Lane Kiffin too lol. On this board is an entire thread related to guys who bang chicks and post their pictures for everybody’s entertainment but you’re still on here, railing away at “morally bankrupt” football coaches. It’s ironic and a tad unhinged.

Go suck on a helium balloon. When posters get personal it’s because they are taking a post I make personally. I don’t do that often. Do you see me routinely attacking posters on a personal level?  Grow a pair. It clearly bothers you I don’t like him or else you’d move along and ignore my posts.

This feels two ways:

1. Sark was told that if he doesn't fix shit ASAP, he should start getting his resume together.

2. Sark himself is tired of this shit, and when you can upgrade, do it every time. Akina had to go, but I'm surprised about PK. I read he wanted to go back to the PNW, and that's cool., but why not just put in your resignation and leave rather than be fired? Akina had to fucking go. Good riddance.

I like Mischamp a lot, and he has produced some of the best and most physical defenses we've had in a long, long time (Sergio meet Taylor Potts). We had a lot of talent then too, just like now. I'm really surprised he came out of retirement, but it's Texas and he's had a house here since..,.almost 20 years, and he and his wife vacation here. He's been on campus a few times to converse with Sark. There's a video somewhere on YouTube with Muschamp talking to Baxter, Sweat, Murphy, Barron, and some other guys before heading to take on Washington in the CFP 2 years ago. I'm totally happy with the hire.

What a surprise!  I figured Muschamp would never come back to Texas because of the rumored screwing around with the rumored HCIW designation 15 years ago (time flies when Texas football is mediocre for a decade!).

He might be HCIW again.

A couple of things. 1. I, like many older fans, had not kept up with Coach Will, but happy he has been having great success in recent years. I personally think being involved in the Georgia program is a large part of why he is coming now.  He has access to the best coaches and analysts in the Georgia/SEC area and probably has a very good idea about who he wants to bring in as secondary coach.

2. I personally "resemble the remark" about 55-60 year old men slowing down.  In 2021, as a 56 year old, I landed above the Arctic Circle to teach in a rural Alaska village with very little in the way of conveniences, but also nearly 0 distractions, other than learning to live above the Arctic...e.g. wearing the correct spikes with the correct shoes, having enough layers, staying away from mean dogs, etc.  I was also still working on my 2nd Master's Degree, and continued taking grad courses throughout the first year.

Fast forward to my last semester above the Circle and spring of 2024 featured me getting mildly irritated at the kids for no good reason, became increasing frustrated at other nonsense and my neighbor at school noticed I was basically done.  I had just turned 59, and was definitely diminished.  I only taught one more school year and am now retired.

Sark isn’t a guy I like on a character or personal level anymore. I suspect a lot worse happened but his defensiveness this year pissed me the fuck off. It also appeared as though he went on autopilot a bit and assumed his team was gonna roll. That pissed me off too.

it’s very possible he had his shit pushed in and had some folks get in his face, I think he deserved it tbqh. Fuck him.

now does that mean he’s going to be shit canned, doesn’t look like it but he’s now saying shit and doing shit that is good for the program, good. I still don’t like him, but fix your RB/OL, stop with the non-stop pro style shit that gets our QB killed, run a mix of pro and college offense and, stop the god damned penalties, stop talking about culture and demand attention to detail at every level and win fucking games. That’s it.

After today's news, I really actually trust that no matter who is making the decisions, they're getting done. I don't think Flood will make the cut to stay, but if he does he better have hit the jackpot in 14 states.

You started this little interaction by quoting me and I didn’t @ you or even mention your name. Greenspoint said something similar to what you said so my shot was at people who like drama…in general. I didn’t say shit to you pointedly lol. Then after you @ me I was just trying to point out why people respond to you the way they do. I have no idea why I do this to myself tho. It isn’t worth the laughs. Lol

Well.... in reality we'll complete two 20 yard passes for two first downs and then run the ball 3 times in a row for -4 yards and punt. It's the Sark way.
