If BaD Radio isn't on from 3-7 p.m. ...

Dumb Zone needs to try and poach Gordon whenever his contract is up. If nothing else for the histrionics.

No idea when it comes due but that one will be a very interesting one given how this has all played out (as much or more Cumulus was fighting the next big contract expiration as they were going after Dan and Jake) Survival of the Ticket may be at stake

it won't be interesting.

Gordon will push a number across the table and Cumulus will say "ok"

Anyone listen?

the most gordon thing ever.

fucked around with the frame rate so it looked like he was dropping frames and not connecting, had a black and white filter over his camera, facetime'd Bob, talked to him, ended the twitch and answered some questions along the way.

i will probably connect again next time he does it.

Why would Gordon join the DZ? He has zero need for them. If he were to do similar on his own he’d have 4x the subs out of the gate. He’s the only true star on the station. Cumulus will pay him to stay. The Musers will be the last big money crew in the market.

Gordon doesn’t like to work that hard.

I’m just spitballing here anyway. Hell for all I know he might be locked up for a few more years.

Also Gordo can’t just push any number across the table. There is some point where the other side just says “fuck it, let it fail”

It’s still a staggering business this terrestrial radio.

Gordo gets 10k subs in a week at 10 bucks a month. He can name his number at the ticket. And they either pay it or the station is basically done. Maybe cumulus has made their money 10x over and they don't care. It will just turn into a scat station maybe, and they are fine with that.

I think you’re looking at the Gordo personna. He’s a hardworking dude and is no doubt the catalyst for their remarkable increase in ratings last year in the face of Rhyner returning to radio where they obliterated the Freak. He appeared on all the shows and guided them to wake up and get back to work. Just doing 25 hours a week of live talk radio a week is hard fucking work on its own. He could do a podcast of his materiel in his sleep and have an army of subs.

I think Gordon would prefer spending more time doing manual labor than what he does. He could do both by stepping away and I agree he could pull 10k subs, not in a week, but ultimately it might come to that depending on how much of a pay cut Cumulus asks the Musers to take. If they have to pay two, it’s less than paying 3.

Except he does no more than 10 hours a week and rarely shows up to work on time. He doesn’t work hard on these other appearances. He just shows up (sometimes) and talks.

wtf are you talking about? as someone who used to listen to the musers first segment of the day, every day, the number of times Gordo missed it was in line with everyone else who ran late, or over slept or whatever else. very, very low.

"rarely shows up to work on time" - criticize him for real shit, like making fun of everyone else but not being ok w/ folks making fun of him, the weird family stuff, the fact he can be lazy about stuff/phone it in, etc - not made up shit.

Anybody know what health issues Friedo has battled the last few years.

The story Mino told about Friedo's practical joke was more mean than funny. Mino said he was on his first Cowboys charter for the last game of the season to Buffalo and he, Friedo and another media member took a cab to see Niagara Falls. The cab broke down en route. Somewhere along the way, the third guy put his wallet down and Friedo scooped it up. He let the poor guy suffer as they took a second cab, saw Niagara Falls and only later did he put the wallet out in the second cab and ask the dude if this was his wallet. He'd called everybody at the cab company at that point, they drove back to the first cab to look/ask that driver, etc.

Ratings from Reddit. Seems people just went away and didn't tune into the other options at 10-3. Musers and HL crushing again. Reddit will probably be sad that Cumulus isn't completely dead yet. Decent bounce back for both new shows. I've noticed McClarin is getting a lot of sponsored ads that used to go to Sirois and Jake. Mino getting the MLM Trajen spots.

Freak gained 6-noon and stayed the same otherwise.

Cumulus is saving a ton from 10-3 and haven't really lost much of anything. That's probably a sign the purge will continue on high contracts.

high contract guys left are the musers and corby + bob. they absolutely aren't going to touch the musers and as long as hardline v??? has ratings like they they wont mess with them either.

they don't have high contract talent left at this point. maybe donnie?

Musers they probably won't but possibly the Hardline when their contracts are up can look forward to getting low balled.
