I had a good meal at Pacific Coast Tacos on Shepherd today. If you can get over the California implications, it’s a darned good taco. The Ultimate Beef taco reminded me of a place in Acapulco from decades ago.

This letter addresses a number of vital issues that affect the livelihood of every individual in our community. I’ll begin by looking at Aggie08’s testy orations. That will be followed by a survey of some basics and some history. This letter will finally end with some common sense. Going back to the aforementioned testy orations, consider that Aggie08 is the devil incarnate. That statement is not a debatable, half-twisted analysis or a cynical opinion. It is a fact. It is also a fact that Aggie08 is desperate to peddle the snake oil of frightful miserabilism. This makes me wonder if Aggie08 has lost the part of his brain that processes shame. I can’t think of a better explanation, can you? Viewed from all angles, if you’re like most people around here, you’ve already gotten into an argle-bargle at some point with Aggie08 about where the free exchange of ideas ends and outright stupidity begins. In my case, he was claiming that he’s a secular saint whose every pronouncement is a gospel truth that only the sinful or the sinister would question. I, in turn, made the counterargument that he can get away with lies (e.g., that his spinmeisters are the guardians of absolute moral truth) because the average person cannot imagine anyone lying so brazenly. Not one person in a hundred will actually check out the facts for himself and discover that Aggie08 is lying. At the very least, I am appalled by Aggie08’s serial dishonesty. First, he lied about meddling in everyone else’s affairs. Then, Aggie08 lied about lying about that. There’s a Kikuyu proverb I’d like to recite for Aggie08. The proverb is, “Kari itara gathekaga kari riiko.” It means, “The green firewood drying above the hearth always laughs at the dry firewood burning on the hearth.” Although Aggie08 may be laughing at us now, some day we’ll be the ones establishing a supportive—rather than an intimidating—atmosphere for offering public comment. When that day comes, people far and wide will know that I, speaking as someone who is not a sneaky fence-sitter, regard promoting trust, a questioning attitude, and a receptiveness to raising issues as the basic purpose of my daily life. I am willing not only to consciously work and sacrifice for that goal but also to spread the word that it is amazing to me that Aggie08 would dare to criticize someone or something without carefully reading what was written. Nevertheless, I tip my hat to the bubblingly alchemical creativity of Aggie08’s fans. Who else could have concocted such a cockamamie plan to compromise the free and open nature of public discourse? Even worse, if this plan pans out, it opens the door for Aggie08’s fans to pander to our worst fears. That sort of behavior disgusts me and really brings home the point that Aggie08 and his underbosses have put in place the largest and most effective blacklist in the history of our country. The purpose of this blacklist is to rid various strategic organizations of Aggie08’s denigrators and any other independent-minded people who might interfere with Aggie08’s designs. While such activities are merely the first step towards preventing people from thinking and visualizing beyond an increasingly psychologically caged existence, Aggie08 has long wanted to prevent anyone from stating publicly that we need to settle our disputes with rational discussion—not by moral huffing and puffing. Why do I bring that up? Because by studying his repression of ideas in its extreme, unambiguous form one may more clearly understand why one of Aggie08’s benighted lieutenants recently told the lie of a lifetime. This person said, and I quote, “It’s better to make up things than to discover or deduce them.” Wow. Anyone audacious enough to say something like that has pretty much zero chance of accepting that Aggie08 is interested only in diminishing our will to live. How much more illumination does that fact need before Aggie08 can grasp it? Assuming the answer is “a substantial amount”, let me point out that the primary weapons of Aggie08’s delirious compatriots are lies and deception. This is why, with apologies to Willie Nelson, I offer this warning: Mamas, don’t let your babies grow up to be cranky quodlibetarians. It’s good that you’re reading this letter. It’s good that you’re listening to what I’m saying. But reading and listening aren’t enough. You must also be willing to have a tough conversation with Aggie08 about colonialism. If we were to have such a conversation I’m pretty sure Aggie08 would cease convincing caustic, presumptuous yokels that there is absolutely nothing they can do to better their lot in life besides joining him. At least I indisputably hope for some sort of outcome like that. Although I prefer appealing to evidence and logic, Aggie08 is driven purely by emotion and anxiety. That’s why it’s hard to convince him that all of his foot soldiers are thieves—idle, envious, and ready to plunder and enslave their weaker neighbors. It’s therefore not surprising that Aggie08 has convinced a generation of people that free speech is wonderful as long as you’re not bashing him and the boisterous, annoying hectors in his camarilla. One must pause in admiration at this triumph of media manipulation. For one thing, thanks to Aggie08, the epidemic of absenteeism is spreading rapidly. But more importantly, Aggie08 is guilty of selective moral outrage. By that, I mean that he picks and chooses what he’s going to be outraged about, then turns around and does the exact same thing to someone else. If you think that that’s disorderly then consider that Aggie08 says that the world can be happy only when his flock is given full rein. That’s a stupid thing to say. It’s like saying that drug money is being used to pay for the construction of huge underground cities intended to house both humans and space aliens who serve a secret, transnational shadow government. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! [Deep breath.] Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! That’s such a ludicrous concept that I can’t help but respond that Aggie08 must sense his own irremediable inferiority. That’s why he is so desperate to throw us into a “heads I win, tails you lose” situation; it’s the only way for him to distinguish himself from the herd. It would be a lot nicer, however, if Aggie08 also realized that his goal is to replace the morals of traditional Western culture with the depressive emptiness of adversarialism. How bestial is that? How muzzy-headed? How wishy-washy? Aggie08’s philosophies are perpetuated by an ethos of continuous reform, the demand that one strive permanently and painfully for something that not only does not exist but is alien to the human condition. We should note, of course, that what I’ve written about Aggie08 doesn’t prove anything in itself. It’s only suggestive, but it does make a good point that the first lies that Aggie08 told us were relatively benign. Still, they have been progressing. And they will continue to progress until there is no more truth; his lies will grow until they blot out the sun. Let me recite the following phrases as if I were showing you the rungs of a ladder leading upward towards increased ability to impede the free flow of information: morally questionable, shallow phonies; heartless grobians; Junkerism; Aggie08’s aides-de-camp; Aggie08. My point is that we must be clear and explicit. We must state the obvious: Vilification and guilt by association are not the only two mechanisms that Aggie08 uses to discredit his nemeses. Misrepresentation is another. Consider, for example, how aggressively Aggie08 has been distorting my claim that some malevolent lowlifes are so stingy they believe in vending a lewd mixture of egotism and superstition to a new generation of poxy hoodlums. Aggie08, take a bow here. Finally, any one of the points I made in this letter could be turned into a complete research paper, but the conclusion of each would be the same: Aggie08 cheers acts of wanton slaughter.

I'm an equal opportunity negger. If you post something stupid or, especially, hypocritical (Derka), or just fuck up a thread, I'll throw a neg. I'm surprised it gets people so riled up, frankly. I also give out a lot of positive rep. I think some of y'all might be too tied up in what other people on the internet think of you. I also have a shitload of posters on ignore because otherwise I'd be negging everything the posted. Just like most of you, I've been on these forums for years and I've seen most of you post a million times. I don't have a lot of time or energy for arguing with stupid shit, so I neg instead most of the time, with a few occasional short discussions. It always amuses me when someone will type something absolutely idiotic, I neg, and then I get 20 negs on random shit I've posted over the years. Internet points don't concern me, but apparently it's serious business to some of you.

Anyone experienced with bank fishing at Lake Pflugerville? I've been skunked several times, mostly fishing along the south shoreline and the dam. Would I have better luck on the north side? Or that marshy area on the west side, along Becker Farm Road? Thanks for any tips... As a side note, maybe my eyesight isn't so hot, but I never see a lot of aquatic life there. (Minnows, perch, frogs, crayfish, etc.) I also rarely see bass jumping or feeding, compared to other lakes I've fished. I'm not sure that lake has a well-established ecosystem. You need that to support the gamefish at the top of the food chain.

that luis j gomez roast is one of my top 3 favorite toast performances ever. it was almost like he really didn’t want to be there, so instead of coming up with a bunch of really creative and on-topic jokes for the panel, he did a few of those, and then mostly just crushed their souls with really mean stuff about them followed by uproarious laughter. so good.

The guy Talarico is questioning is Stan Gerdes, State Representative for Bastrop, Burleson, Caldwell, Lee, and Milam counties. The guy isn't an old or really even a rural rube either. He's a 39yo Texas grad whose biography seems to indicate he's lived in and around Austin, as well as DC, for the last two decades. He didn't write this bill out of ignorance or gullibility. It's just another example of manipulative lies to throw on the pile with the intent of breeding hate, scaring old people, and destroying public education in Texas. If any of you live in that district, he and his staff need to be mocked and hassled relentlessly over this complete stupidity. I realize that Talarico's M.O. is calm and patient logic, but he missed a chance to ask that asshole if he wants his name permanently attached to such an imbecilic law that folks will still be making fun of in 100 years like we do other pointless bullshit on the books like those forbidding using feather dusters in public buildings or milking your neighbor's cow. Or maybe Talarico should take Brisket's advice and just start accusing the guy of being a sick pedo to his face for fantasizing about children using a peepee box while wearing garanimals.

I only stayed at a holiday inn recently, but I assume since they restrict wind tunnel size, there has to be an advantage to a full size model/testing wind tunnel. Otherwise why bother with the restriction? Seems like every team talks about their struggles to get the wind tunnel results to match the on track results.
