Before you go nonlinear on us, yes, Trump won the vote (theoretically). That said, his "support" is not growing. Now, I am aware that he's going to try (and likely succeed) in suspending the next election. But he has really shitty approval ratings.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen

Cooper breaks more tackles in part because he’s playing in 1A football. Same on his defensive film. That said, he looks like a stud athlete. -
Not their best work, but good for pre-season work.

The only "evidence" is some unreliable eyewitness accounts of sightings happening months to years after her disappearance and some questionable analysis of online photos. I found none of it credible or interesting at all. At 5:30 am she was seen on the balcony of her family's room. Nothing happened to wake up a room full of sleeping people between 5:30 - 6 am, at which point she was noticed missing. So the kidnap theory is that she left the room of her own accord barefoot in a t-shirt and jeans sometime between 5:30- 6 am, and her kidnappers saw that she had left her room, were able to snag her from a public area of the ship without notice, and then smuggle her unnoticed off of the ship in Curacao. Oh, and the ringleader of this kidnapping effort was the bass player of the ship's band... and the entire ship's crew was in on identifying and assisting with the abduction of young women for Caribbean sex-trafficking.

A lawyer friend in town told me that his wife has helped Lake Travis high school students with the college admissions process over the years, and said that in her experience band kids had some of the highest college acceptance rates. I think a lot of admissions staff know that band kids work their asses off, and that level of discipline looks good on a resume. My son is a freshman in the McCallum High band, and last year was lucky enough to get "called up" to be a part of the McCallum band as an eighth-grader for the football season. That included early morning band practices at McCallum starting at 6:50 a.m. before husting to Lamar, Friday night football games, and a lot of Saturday UIL competitions that lasted most of the day. He absolutely loved it, and as his father I was damn impressed to see him work so hard. He thinks he might want to join a college marching band at a big school, maybe Texas, maybe somewhere out of state like Oregon where his sister is. But I do wonder if by the time he goes to college, after five years of intensive marching band, he'll get burned out by it. It's a grind.

Sounds like it’s not a replacement beverage either. You can probably get a fountain Coca Cola for $1.50 or a bottle of sugar Coke with half the volume for twice the price. I wonder what people will choose? also, and I’m dead serious with this ridiculous question, as it pertains to sugar cane, did Trump slap a tariff on Puerto Rico?

Word. It's been a beating. I strongly encouraged her to knock some of that shit out before summer band started, and of course summer band has now started, and zero essay activity has occurred.

Health schmealth....french fries fried in beef tallow are delicious. I support that change, universally. But yeah, just more distractions and theater here.

I would start with Houses of the Holy or Presence. Both are over 50yrs old and they damn sure don't make music like that anymore.

Love Ready Player One, also Project Hail Mary is a great audio experience. Nothing holds a candle to DCC on audio, I just finished my second relisten and just started at the beginning again. @immamac is flying through the books at an unheard of speed lol

Is it not an option to work out from under the broken brain pills? It’s been said in these esteemed pages that GoodRx might be what you are looking for.

The strongest opener of the season and in quite some time. Agreed, great episode and might be proof less is more.

A couple of things since we are again looking at Hospice, but for my MIL. She has inoperable colon cancer and is turning 90 tomorrow. Or more accurately the surgery would likely kill her one way or another and her quality of life would be greatly diminished for what time she has left. Had a big party for her and all of the kids and grandkids were there who were not sick. So it was a great weekend of celebrating her life. And a special thanks to Caroline at Camino Real off 183 who went above and beyond helping us put this together. They were always wonderful to my inlaws, and just wanted to give them a deserved tip of the hat. But back to Hospice. My wife was basically the hospice nurse for her father and do to some terrible decision making by her mother all the burden was on her from the medical side of things until they got Hospice at the last minute. My wife this go round wanted to go with some folks that have ties to Christopher House so there is an environment she will not be managing so much at the very end. One of our concerns was that for quality of life my MIL would need blood transfusions. And we were concerned that transfusions might not be considered part of their care program. Well they are! Thankfully. On the dementia side of things the medications are only good in the early stages. I also think that if there is a choice to make a move to independent/assisted living with a memory care unit early in the process that is perhaps one of the best decisions that can be made. IF you find the right place. My wife is a Nursing Home Consultant Pharmacist so we thankfully know what is good and not so good in Austin. For example I think that my mother's life and quality of life would have been extended at least 6 months to a year had my folks moved into independent room she and my father would have become more of a part of the community there. More importantly whenever you do move a person with dementia, the are going to deteriorate with that move. Do to the change and unfamiliarity. Whatever percent decline this is, is greater in the latter stages than in the earlier stages. So in my case both my parents could have moved in independently and them when my mom became unmanageable for my father a move to a room downstairs where she had already been visiting would not have been at much of a decline. Anyhow there are not good choice, and all we can do it try to do the best we can, with the information we have. And unfortunately (or honestly fortunately) most of us don't have a lot of experience with end of life. But it's going to come for all of us, that's for certain. So do the best you can for your parents, and look forward and try to prepare things for yourself to make the process as easy for your kids as possible if you have them. God bless you all, and keep doing what you have to do. -

Thinking about borrowing Brisket's old beater pickup and driving around with my lawnmower and weed eater in the back and blasting Norteno music. Imagine their surprise when they pull over a 55 year old blue eyed white guy. And maybe if they're wasting time on me, Jose and Juan get home safely.

I think I like Ready Player One a bit better for the blatant nostalgia, but Dungeon Crawler Carl is written better, and the story is better.

long EOSE, kicking myself for not rolling over my May MP $25 call position that I entered into in April instead of exiting it flat. sad stuff. been angling for a new play - any thoughts on UURAF? Can’t buy it on RH so retail is out but it’s a $1.00/share, $100MM market cap Canadian company that got a $20MM US DOD rare earth mineral processing grant for a brownfield site down in LA.

Punt return is blocked a little better but haven't been able to house one yet. I only play online so I don't know if they nerf the special teams there or what. I did take 1 kickoff return back but usually end up between 18-22 yard line and it's not worth it to try and return those. Backspin and short punts are totally insane if you can get a punt where they have trouble fielding it it's very likely to hit one of their players first. Cheap as fuck though.
