We may not make the big 12 championship this year. We no longer control our own destiny. also this team isn’t very good. happy thanksgiving19 points

These coaches have won titles elsewhere. I wouldn't fire them yet I'd work with Sark to completely turn over the roster Chris Beard style. Send out the quitters as much as possible and bring in a smaller school QB with a winning track record you can convince to transfer for a shot at p5 exposure. Use the portal to the fullest extent and clean the trash from the program.10 points
-
I honestly hope they don’t fire anyone. Defense is on their 3rd coordinator in 3 years. Our senior OL are on their 3 position coach. At this point I’d rather see what the players can do with some consistency.10 points

I do love these kind of idiotic statements: “A day before his death, his wife had posted on the family’s GoFundMe page that her husband “was an imperfect man but he loved his family and his little girls more than anything.”” That’s not true. He loved “owning the libs” more than his family. Think about that. Instead of doing what any good and decent man would do - protect his family, and insure they have a father to provide - he gave his life on service to….absolute, unbridled stupidity.9 points

So either you're dumb enough to think we're firing Sark after 1 year, or you're dumb enough to think having a roster with little talent will really help the next guy.8 points

Look I’m all for additional NIL deals, but no one is signing up for burnt ends anymore and we are having people cancel after these losses. I’m not willing to risk 10s of thousands out of my own pocket because a bunch of people on the internet want to talk shit about paying players, but don’t actually pay them. we are continuing burnt ends through 4 seasons at minimum, that’s ~280k over 4 years. It will be a top 5 NIL deal in the entire country if we keep going. As of now I think we are top 15 or 20 at the worst. now if there are less than 7 players in the room I’m down to pick 1 or 2 additional choice players or positions to award a 1 year thing to - the number we will plan for is always 7 players though.8 points

please man. Don’t post these garbage rumors. It’s the same victim blaming bullshit that happened after 96 Liverpool fans were crushed to death at Hillsborough. The actual truth was absolutely piss poor planning by event organizers and police supervisors. Also, criminally negligent designed barricades. #JFT97 #fuckthesun #fucktmz7 points

I'm somewhat in this camp. I might look to replace WR coach, never been a fan of Coleman. But when you look at who we roll out there, we are devoid of talent. That OL is miserable. TE is a fucking joke. We only have 1 receiver now and that has made us just way to easy to shut down. Terrible QB play. On defense we have NO linebackers. O has raw talent, but lacks instincts. When Brock, Bush and Schooler are seeing this much playing time, it's a miracle we get any stops.7 points

It’s both. We are talent deficient in key areas but the talent that’s there isn’t being maximized. We are weak and slow up front. That’s problem number 1 and is mainly talent The scheme is built for a team that’s strong up front. So that’s 1a. Number 2 is our QBs are jags. 2a is they are being asked to be Mac Jones when they are just not pocket passers. 3, our safeties are awful. Just atrocious players. And that started before the current staff got here. But I refuse to believe there aren’t better options on the roster that could have been developed instead of what we trot out there. That’s all coaching and it’s a disaster in a scheme that requires the safeties to be able to reliably clean up mistakes. 4 is we have a walkon starting at LB and another getting significant snaps. The options behind them either need more snaps or left the team. 5 our starting TE is a jag in an offense that wants to utilize the TE. 6. We have one good WR and a bunch of jags.6 points

No, it's not that simple. How do you explain our perennial top-10-rated recruiting classes? Furthermore... Why should we need UGA, Bama or Ohio State's roster to beat Baylor?6 points

You keep blaming Sark but this comment right here shows why the Offense sucks and no coach could fix it this year. When your O line sucks it doesn't matter if you have a great QB, WR's and RB's the offense will still suck. Now add in that we don't have a great QB and have only one good WR and it is a miracle that Sark has been able to figure out ways to score at all. If our QB's could hit a few wide open WR's and if those WR's could actually make a catch we would have scored a bunch more last night even with the crap O line and that tells me Sark is actually figuring out ways to put the shit players in position to succeed as best as any coach can at this point. To add to a crap O line being a problem. You can tell by my avatar that I am a Pats fan and Brady to me is the best ever. The years or even games when the Oline wasn't good are the times when Brady looked horrible and everyone called for him to retire because he was too old. The second the Pats got his O line back to being good he was suddenly able to perform (this includes leaving the Pats and going to the Bucs who had a solid OL and GREAT WR's).6 points

Maybe, what might work better, is sark hires a HC and installs himself as OC!6 points

It would be more interesting to see which schools had serious interest in those players...I am no longer a true recruiting junkie, but years ago, when we were one of those 5-10 teams truly skimming the cream off the top of every class, we were beating out the elite teams of the day. Now I see some 4-star that has everyone enchubbened and his offer list is Cal, Tech, SMU, TCU and us. Not Bama, blowU, Ohio St and Clemson. Because when they want those players, they get those players. A million times this...I really wish we could have gotten one or both of Urban / Saban in here to watch the mobs turn on them when they didn't have the spares Mack and Herman left behind playing like 2001 Miami in year one. Strong had a reputation as a guy who'd lose one WTF game a year but was a great talent evaluator who certainly coached up those players well enough to get them in the league. Herman had pretty much the same reputation re: losing games he shouldn't and absolutely no track record as an evaluator nor as a coacher-upper of players. He was believed to be a QB whisperer with an innovative mind for offense, and over four years, the best who could come up with was a QB as battering ram offense. Ehlinger's passing technique and reads never showed much improvement. It's even worse. Mack left Strong a handful of good to really good players on D -- Hassan Ridgeway and Malcom Brown, a consensus All-American, both of whom are enjoying long NFL careers. Jordan Hicks. Quandre Diggs and Mykelle Thompson, whom Strong turned from fifth-year bust into solid contributor and fringe NFL guy. That D finished 31st in the country and third in conference. But Strong had all those guys except Ridgeway for only one year, and Mack left absolutely squat in the pipeline after that. I think for two years running were the greenest team in FBS, what amounted to a very talented JV squad. JV squads can't compete against varsity, and Charlie was fired, but he left behind a fair number of contributors, especially on D. But this shit Herman left behind might be the worst any Texas coach has left behind him since Ed Price or some shit. Akers and McWilliams were pretty terrible. Both Royal Mackovic left behind total hauls, but this shit....wow. I really didn't think it would be possible to leave behind less than Mack, but Herman did it.6 points

We’re back at the hotel in Ankeny. The trip was overall awesome, even though I almost gouged my eyes out watching this stupid team. Thanks@Al_4_ISU for the recs. We ate at Uptown Food & Beverage Co. in Ankeny last night. My burger was meh but the atmosphere and local beer were good. Today we had breakfast at Main Street Bakery and liked it a lot. Then we went to Ledges State Park and loved our hike. Very good scenery there. Lunch was at Cornbred and it was quite good. They are short-staffed so it took 2 hours from the time we arrived until we finished eating. Tried some Alluvial beers that I liked. Ended up not playing golf but did get to the tailgating area a couple hours early hoping to meet some folks. We did meet a few people and the locals seemed surprised that we drove from Dallas for the game…I guess they’re not used to folks coming for TX for games. All in all it was a fantastic trip and I’m just happy we got to do it. Fuck this team and fuck OU. I’m sucking down Makers, Bud Lights and Dominoes pizza watching the AZ/USC game in the hotel. They don’t serve beer in the stadium so I had to watch this piece of shit team buzzed in the first half and sober in the second. Holy shit, where’s the Tylenol?6 points

Those are so worthless. 2018 class has had 1/3 leave for NFL or transfer, so you mostly have jags left. 2019 class was an abortion. 13 players are already gone. 5 of the top 7 are gone and the 2 left are T Johnson and JWhitt.5 points

This. Is. Stupid. People cancelling their subscriptions after losses. The coaches suck. We aren’t funding them, we are helping fund the TE’a who signed up for this shit show. I hope those people aren’t the same ones saying we need to pay the high end recruits. Because you know, we could. ( legally of course) If every single one of us actually contributed and stopped bitching. If the BMD’s aren’t gonna do it then we need to step up somehow.5 points

If you hire a shitty coach once in a while, it happens. If every coach you hire is shitty, it's not the coaches who are shitty, it's you. If it takes a generationally amazing coach to be successful at a school, that school is also a problem. The worst part about it is that there are no slam dunk hires out there anymore. We shouldn't want Urban Meyer at this point. Maybe Jeff Traylor is what the program needs, but they care too much about flaunting their new toy and the "we're texas, look who we just hired" nonsense.5 points

Yet, that fuck managed to lose to Maryland twice and wasted 8 games last year before coming to the realization that Bijan Robinson is really good at football. Now imagine Herman with the current offensive personnel minus Worthy.5 points
