  6. My original point was BO&W is a low-functioning dufus and if he's someone causing you angst here, you're not doing it right, should push away from your monitor for a bit, change your handle out of the shame of it, and start over again in a couple of years. By then, our resident incel will have probably driven his early 80's Chevy van into a crowd of women at an anti-Trump rally and you can go back to your inane posting habits with impunity. My second point was tangential for my own entertainment and also - whoosh.

  7. Every time I see an intelligent poster on this board indicate they’ve learned nothing from the last few years I grow increasingly sure about staying out on the ledge. Because if good posters like TwiceHorn still think normal politics applies to Trump, it helps explain why our country never learns from our numerous horrible experiences with GOP governance and continually reappoint them to power whenever we get frustrated at the Dems for not cleaning the mess up quickly enough. If some of our smartest people have such a hard time learning from these experiences, how can we possibly expect the average American to do so?

  9. My my, how things change. Is this one of those times we're you're constantly reassessing after acquiring more information? I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm sure many will agree with me when they are thrilled you've come around if for no other reason that CTJ - White Knight of the 9.95 Board was a really, really disconcerting feeling for the rest of us.

  10. So your position is that the intent of the texags posters, and similar folks who post the same shit on FB and all the other social media sites, are stringently fighting for the scientific integrity of numbers, the importance of data recording and future analysis, and general integrity of the science in general. You think that's the aim of these comments, coming from a group of people who are generally dismissive and disdainful of science? Well, ok, I suppose that's one interpretation that is entirely constructed in your mind. But lets be fucking clear: Because that distinction is important to you, does not make it important to everyone, and specifically doesn't make it important or the intent of the people in question during this conversation. Attempting to conflate it otherwise is...wait for it...gaslighting. Shockingly something you've been accused of many times here before. Huh. Go figure. I'd make some comment about patterns of behavior, but clearly that means nothing to you without a principal diagnosis from a trained physician. Speaking of a principle diagnosis, way to tacitly imply that I'm unstable. Now whether you mean mentally, or emotionally isn't really clear, and obviously for your intent here it doesn't matter. Aren't Ad Hominem attacks diametrically opposed to the kind of frank, scientific addressing of a topic that you claim to champion? But instead you attempted to poison the well. Again, get that fucking shit out of here.

  13. Well, half the country think the economy is completely fucked, inflation is going to strangle our children in their cribs at any moment, and supply chain issues are Biden created and not covid created. It's almost like the media isn't interested in focusing on the news, and Democrats have a messaging problem.

Jesus fucking christ your blabbering about the intricacies of what it takes to be a got damn baseball player is retarded for this scenario. Especially considering he won't be taking away a scholarship from another baseball player you dumb fucking bitch.

  17. Not sure where to put this, so putting it here. Just got a cold call from Korn Ferry. Here is how the conversation went down. Korn Ferry Guy: Hi this is X with Korn Ferry, do you have a moment to talk about an executive position at Y company? Me: Korn Ferry? Where were you guys on that Steve Patterson hire? KFG: Who? Me: You know he hired Charlie Strong right? KFG: What? Me: Set us back a decade, you must not have been in on that one but please continue... Those guys are never going to live that one down.

  22. Those of you who still think Trump isn't the favorite right now to win the 2024 general don't get how committed even "moderate" Republicans are to hating liberals. It's not about anything tangibly real, it's about identity. They may not be rabid Trumpists, but to them, Dems are still worse. After all, Dems let a bunch of black thug criminals rampage and burn down all the cities in the summer of 2020 and the media cheered it on. 1/6 was just a raucous crowd that just got out of hand. These aren't Q-level takes, this is shit virtually every "moderate" or "centrist" still-Republican voter believes. They believe that because that's what they've been told, and that's what they've been told because that's what they want to believe. It's not like they have zero exposure to contrary information, but whenever they hear or read contrary information that doesn't fit with what they want to believe they disregard it. They have always believed conservatives are good people and liberals are bad people, so will believe anything that reinforces those beliefs and will ignore anything that doesn't. The world is simple for them: there are good guys and there are bad guys. They're the good guys, people who don't look and think like them are the bad guys. Trump is one of them, so he's a good guy. It's as simple as that. It's why anything bad he's ever done was excusable for some reason or just a liberal lie. This is why they cheer on war criminals like Eddie Gallagher, a man who gleefully murdered children. You guys still think these people are rational voters with a solid commitment to certain ideas and values. They're not. Nobody is.

  25. Ok I’ll try once. the distinction between being hospitalized with an active Covid infection vs being hospitalized because of an active Covid infection is valuable and important as it relates to policy. Nobody is arguing otherwise. the idea that a secondary infection that was caused by/began as a product of a Covid infection is not Covid related is dumb and only an argument that dumb people or people with agendas would perpetuate.

  26. Yes, as if I was making a comparison between the two diseases as opposed to an illustration of human cognitive dissonance. Why don’t you try to follow the conversation instead of finding ways to defend texags? What, you don’t want quote my whole post so as to offer that a disease isn’t the same thing as a bus accident? Fuck off with this bullshit.

  27. Beef & Bulgar soup I tore out of my local Co-Op's community magazine. I enjoy trying shit like this in the winter months when I find more time indoors to cook and get the craving for rustic dishes. This one was modified with a helluva lot more black pepper, rosemary sprigs cut from my backyard and about 10 oz of leftover Ridge Carignan.

  29. Well, hello, gents, it’s been a while. Catching up on the thread, I see that excellent work abounds. I probably gained 10lbs just looking at the pics. A friend came up for the Dallas Safari Club convention last weekend, and he brought these strips from an HEB in Austin. Grilled over lump with a kiss of mesquite. Like butter.

  30. I find it entirely unsurprising. Trump wants to annihilate anyone who opposes him. His base wants to annihilate the left. Since Trump is a Republican, they both want the exact same thing, and will remain in perfect alignment in perpetuity. That's it. That's all there is to it. I personally don't even think Republican voters spend much time future tripping about gaining permanent control of our federal government. That's a consequence of annihilating the left, and these people don't think about consequences. They have absolute constancy of purpose on winning the war against the left. Nothing else is a priority to them. When these people say "elite," they mean the left. Trump is not an elite to them, because he's not part of the left. If you press them on this contradiction, they'll come up with a bullshit non sequitur like "he's of their class, but he's one of us." They're utterly uninterested in having a rational, internally consistent world view. They want to beat the left into submission. Notice how Trump uses terms like RINO and "gone woke" to describe Republicans who stand up to him. Trump categorizes every Republican who pushes back against Trump as now part of the left. Now Liz Cheney is on the "left' to them. Why? Because they include her in the category of people whose power and influence they wish to completely annihilate. Trump's base is happy to let Trump decide who he wants to expel from their ranks, because he's giving them the war they want. This is why there are really only two outcomes that are possible. Blood, or the left surrendering. *phew* okay I need to get back to work.
