This is Surly, sir. Any QB not yet on campus is better than every QB on campus.9 points

No, he doesn't understand that. He's the dumbest person to ever serve as president. He's a bona fide moron and people support him because they are deplorable. This country is filled with awful, racist morons who are terrified that their way of life is threatened. And they should be. America is changing and they are going to be left behind, no matter how many Donald Trumps they elect.9 points

I’m reading back through the elite 11 247 thread from last night, and there’s some Barton Simmons comedy. In this pro day simulation drill, QBs make 20 throws and get graded from 0-3 on each. In the thread, Stampini was logging how QBs did on each throw. At the end of the sessions, Simmons listed how he thought everyone scored (the 11 elite staff hadn’t released their scores yet), and he had King as having the second highest score despite Stampini logging him as having five or seven poor throws; Simmons then gets blasted by various 247 posters. He had Card at 7, fwiw. Later when elite 11 releases its scores from this drill, King isn’t even in the top five. Simmons can’t even score a fucking drill correctly8 points

Everyone knows the wheels on the bus go round and round. Everyone knows that. I learned it at Wharton. But what most people don't know is that the wipers on the bus go swish, swish, swish. Lots of people don't know that. I had a man come up to me, big man, big as a bus, and he said, "Thank you. I didn't know that and you taught me. I thought the wipers went swoosh, swoosh." Can you believe that? Swoosh, swoosh? Fake sounds.8 points

And the decision on who replaces Sam can't wait. It must be made now. Reputations on this esteemed board will be on the line. Scorn awaits those who will be wrong. It's fucking important.7 points

The chestnut tree used to be a major food source for wildlife and people. Since it flowered later than most trees it was not caught by late frosts. But, most of us, except maybe Armybrat, have never seen one mature enough to produce chestnuts. Like several other introduced, invasive critters and diseases it happened by accident. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chestnut_blight But, it didn't get all of them. That's the thing about diseases. A few lucky individuals will have some genetic resistance. We know that now about the Black Death. You either had the pair of genes with full resistance and didn't get sick, one of the pair and kinda got sick, but survived or none at all and you were a goner. The same thing applies to other living things. Well, somebody has been diligently working to find the resistant survivors of the Ozark species of chestnut and then select the most resistant ones for reintroduction. I think it can work. A legendary Ozark chestnut tree, thought extinct, is rediscovered, Nat Geo 6/24/195 points

The leading conservative media outlet has now stated that running a country requires “killing people.” Let that sink in for a moment. Sure, Tucker criticized the Kim regime on somewhat superficial grounds (they’re Stalinist!), but at bottom a leading conservative voice just proclaimed that killing human beings is required to lead a country. Holy shit. We are fucked.5 points

It’s important to note that to be a conservative these days is to completely abdicate every founding principle of this country, but to do it while dry-humping the flag. Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses and I’ll throw those rapists in a cage so we can #MAGA America is a shining city upon a hill whose beacon shines a light on people trying to escape prison camps where they’re forced to forage for rats to survive so that they can be shot down and slaughtered. The constitution? Too many words, let’s toss it out. if you’re a republican, the simple fact is you are the physical embodiment of everything this country stood against at its founding.5 points

One of us expressed a probability. It wasn't you. Whether you agree with that probability or not, is, of course, a perfectly reasonable question. But don't go pretending I'm making grandiose pronouncements when I have not, in fact, made any pronouncement of fact at all.5 points

I miss the old pizza hut restaurants that were around when I was a kid. Table top video games, hot pizza, and a cold pitcher of Pepsi. Current pizza hut can kiss my ass. https://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2013/01/foolproof-pan-pizza-recipe.html5 points

Fine. We're the moral equivalent of North Korea, a place where they starve their citizens for their politics and kill the opposition merely for being the opposition and nothing more. That's a really good point you make. You are in agreement with Donald Trump and totalitarian dictators. Very liberal.4 points

Please stop with that “natty” shit. It ranks right down there with the “Red River Shootout/Rivalry” and “Texas Aggie” misnomer abortions. Phlegm could be turning over in his grave.4 points

You mean like assuming a black man is ineligible to be president because he must have been born in Africa? Or assuming all brown people who want to come here are rapists and drug dealers? Or wanting a wall between us and the brown people to the south while not seeing a need for a wall between us and the white people to the north? Or like chain migration for the family of your high dollar Slovenian hooker being totally legal and totally cool, but chain migration from brown places being a drain on our society?3 points
