Local Utah fan here. The UT fans were by far the most gracious and welcoming fan base I’ve ever come across. I got lost on the river walk multiple times and was escorted to safety and the stadium by Texas fans. They offered me food, drinks and after the game were polite and wished us safe travels. Even though we ran out of time for the comeback, can’t wait to come back to Texas to visit more longhorns.13 points

You write and think like a baboon. Baylor loses most of their starting lineup and it is hard to imagine Brewer actually being allowed to carry on. We just fucking beat Oklahoma State and they're not going to turn into some juggernaut overnight. Oklahoma is losing its 4 best players and has nothing but stacked mediocrity on defense. Texas fans have every right to expect a peak level performance next year and there isn't a fucking thing to scare any logical fan regarding the schedule and who's returning for most of the Big 12.11 points

Honestly, the Gallagher saga is the single most nauseating situation to me -- having read the facts-- after the kids in cages saga. As literally as anything can, the celebration of a person who has credibly been reported to shoot village girls in the stomach and stab teenage captives in the neck, who is so obviously an evil sociopath .... turns my stomach. That we have a large segment of our society that cheers this on, not to mention our "leader," -- there can't be any more concrete example of what a diseased and unworthy society we have at this point.9 points

Wife and her mom were making something over the holidays, and the recipe called for 1 stick of butter. They already had 3/4 of a stick, so they used that, then cut off 1/4 of a new stick and added that. I asked why they didn't just use a new full stick, and got 2 confused looks back.8 points

It's 2020 in America, our President is an immoral, corrupt failed-businessman, and our First Lady is a Euro-trash whore. This is what Republicans wanted for our country.8 points

Or just not waste our fucking time and go get someone good now and keep them for X years instead of wasting our fucking time with some succession plan for an aging position coach.7 points

They have the most teams of any conference. They play more FCS schools than any other conference. They play fewer conference games than any other conference. Their conference gets to select their bowl matchups, unlike any other conference.7 points

Look... me and the McDonald's people got this little misunderstanding. See, they're McDonald's... I'm McDowell's. They got the Golden Arches, mine is the Golden Arcs. They got the Big Mac, I got the Big Mick. We both got two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions, but their buns have sesame seeds. My buns have no seeds.6 points

One of Clinton's partners in the Whitewater real-estate investment scandal was Susan McDougal, and she refused to testify to a grand jury put together by Kenn Starr and spent 22 months in jail. She says she refused to testify to prevent perjuring herself, not to protect Bill Clinton. Clinton later pardoned her to end her time in prison. Ultimately, all that could be proven against Clinton is that he lied under oath about receiving a blow job in the white house from a subordinate. While that lie under oath was a crime, it was not a threat to democracy, free and fair elections, our constitution or the basic tenets of shared power and checks and balances that serve as a foundation our nation is constructed upon. Nothing Clinton was accused of was a threat to those things and the events around Whitewater happened well before his Presidency began. Trump has both overtly and covertly solicited foreign powers to interfere in both the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections in his favor. He has openly obstructed congress' and a special investigator's authority to investigate these matters and told those closest to his conduct to not comply with subpoenas and otherwise refuse to offer testimony. So let us say that is it, there is nothing else to be found if all stones could be turned over. Well, those actions alone are absolutely threats to our democracy, free and fair elections, our constitution, shared power and checks and balances. So those closest to Trump are honoring his requests and refusing to testify under oath. Why are they not in jail like Susan McDougal? Why are the Democrats not enforcing the constitution and ensuring that either: These people's testimony is heard They get tossed in jail for willful non-compliance with the law They have to violently resist the law to avoid testifying or going to jail Instead, the Dems are going to let people like Mulvaney and the President himself avoid testifying. They are settling for calling a few witnesses distal to the President and providing an incomplete picture of his conduct to an American people that are mostly blasé about politics. And most here say, "Fuck yeah! Look at the polling! The GOP is going to hang themselves trying to protect Trump!" Well, if polling was reliable, Trump would have never been President. And you can bet in 2020 there will be a more rabid base turning out at near 100% coupled with more efforts both foreign and domestic to subvert the votes of everyone else. As a final thought for those finding comfort in this quixotic impeachment effort and the polls showing some support for impeachment and removal: How did polling suddenly become so unreliable in 2016? Is it that there was some hidden glitch in all the algorithms that was suddenly exposed by Trump? Or was there some other factor(s) involved that influenced the election results and made pre-election polls unreliable? If it is the latter, what has happened between 2016 and now to ensure it doesn't happen again?6 points

Negged for the sheer fuck of it. I'm enjoying a good college football day after a promising Longhorn victory. This includes cold beer and a bowl of blackeyed peas whose preparation I've blundered into mastering. Creamy, meaty, nice Southern greens and a Texas jalapeno. I'll review my addled observation: "Trump is a lying, traitorous, psychopathic narcissist who poses a threat to our republic and the values for which it once claimed to stand. And he plays golf instead of actually working." "Hey! He doesn't really play too much golf! That's unfair!" Fuck you.6 points
