I told my friend that was not the perfect Florida song because it didn't say anything about an alligator or bath salts...so he sat down and wrote another verse...14 points

Had an aggy patient the other night. Dude was bored after the storm and really wanted sloppy joes and tater tots as a way to kind of celebrate the weather being over. Decides to actually fry his tots (can't fault him there). Sets the oil on fire, oops. Gets the fire out safe enough, but—and despite having already fallen on his backyard ice earlier in the day— he decides that the oil needs to cool outdoors. So he steps outside with the pot of scalding oil in his arms... Hilarious story short, he burns his genitals and about 50% of the surface area of his legs, and about a sixth of his abdomen with tater tot oil. It gets better. Beyond the norm of what you would assume of an aggy's health history (hypertension, elevated A1c, hyperlipidemia, et al), he had had one prior operation before his series of debridements—think of a cheese grater across your skin, if the burn is bad enough. The op? Having his foot surgically repaired after shooting himself.12 points

How is this board still at the point where we're discussing literally anything Ketchum says at all? He's wrong about fucking everything. Hell, I move that we ban posting Orangebloods content here all together.11 points

This country is one of the least racist on this planet. Doesn't excuse the racism that exists. But spend time anywhere else, any other continent. Asian, Central and South American countries take it to another level. Its part of the human condition. And its awful, we should all strive to be better. But if you can't see that racism and victimhood in this country has been co-opted for power and money, I don't know what to tell you. You're playing into the hands of very few that would like to divide.11 points

Really surprising to me. I grew up with his dad Willie. Him playing at Texas was a dream for both Marqez and Willie. I'm guessing that he didn't fit into the new scheme as well. Maybe it had something to do with the EoT thing too. He was the first to Tweet it when the whole thing came out. I've heard through the grapevine that Sark is gonna be a stickler for having the players stay and sing it. Maybe he wasn't on board for that. I do know that in the beginning they were close to Herman and liked him a lot. Maybe that played into it too. Don't know. Not gonna dig. Marqez is a good kid and his family pushes him to be smart and make the right decisions in the big picture. I hope that's what this turns out to be. Best of luck to him.8 points

Told my smart assed kid no electronics during dinner. Little fucker calmly got up, placed his tablet on the counter, turned off all the lights. Sat the fuck down in the dark and said "okay."7 points

So much of the idiocy -- yep, on "both sides" -- is because we (and I mean the whole planet, not just the US) don't have a clearly articulated and reasonable goal for where we should end up. What makes COVID bad is not that it makes you congested and feel like shit. Colds to that. The flu does that. And we live normal lives with those things circulating. What makes COVID bad is that it causes DEBILITATING illness (with long-term physical harm) and death at a much higher rate than other respiratory illnesses. So, I have always thought that our goal should be to knock COVID back to where it is just another endemic respiratory illness that sucks, but doesn't kill people. And what do you know....the vaccines out there right now accomplish that goal. Yes, they make it very unlikely that you get sick at all, but most importantly, they functionally 100% prevent serious illness and death. If we can get shots in arms, we have met the goal. The goal can't be, nor should it be, to "eliminate" COVID from the earth. Maybe someday, 10 years from now, we could execute a plan to get us there. But in the near term, that can't be accomplished, so it's a foolish goal. The goal shouldn't even be "make COVID less prevalent than the flu." The goal should be "control the thing that makes COVID bad -- serious illness and death." We can do that now. We should do it with all possible speed. And when we get it knocked back far enough, we should return to a fully functional life and economy, worldwide.7 points

Well, I had an 8 piece of Popeyes Fried Chicken that I was dipping in Hershey's Chocolate syrup so maybe that had something to do with it.6 points

Seems like across sports everyone with an injury wants to blame the medical professionals. I'm sure it's warranted in some cases, but it seems like an easy scapegoat for those frustrated that they never recovered to the point they expected.6 points

They give you a ticket and you spin the HE-Buddy wheel to see how many milligrams you get. The kid below didn't get any milligrams but he won a free pack of Marlboro Reds.6 points

This is fallacious reasoning, based on the incorrect assumption that decisions can be judged solely by the actions taken. Humans make decisions in order to produce outcomes, and those outcomes stem from the combination of both an action and condition, and not the action alone. Therefore, decisions must be judged by taking both into account. In the United States, unless parents deliberately intervene, all children are subjected to a condition where most characters will be white by default, and the few black characters that do exist will be cast into one of two typical roles that white writers tend to be limited to. For a white parent to take the deliberate action of further restricting their child's exposure to black characters would be therefore precisely the opposite of what the black parent in this case did. If the two actions seem the same, it's only because you aren't taking condition into account, which would be an error in your judgment. I am worried this comes across as stating the obvious, because we understand this intuitively elsewhere in our lives. Shooting and killing someone who is trying to invade our home is different from shooting and killing someone whom our spouse had an affair with. The conditions are different, so we judge the decisions differently. But white Americans tend to be in complete denial of the vast differences in conditions that black Americans are subjected to, and the conservative outrage over "cancel culture" is a great example of white Americans clueless about their denial/ignorance.6 points

Got fully vaccinated a few weeks ago. Ready for vaccine passports to be implemented. Spare me the bullshit of "discrimination" against those who haven't gotten it yet. Let's allow concerts, performing arts, etc. and make it contingent on vaccinations. I am ready to travel internationally and want a fully functioning vaccine passport system so that I don't have to comply with quarantining and other draconian measures. I am all for incentivizing vaccination and shaming anti-vaxxers by creating goodies for those that are not stupid enough to be fooled by anti-vaxx lies.5 points

This good thing is a little bit braggy lol. Due to my work this year with our vaccine clinic and other Covid stuff, I just got officially promoted to a new position in senior leadership. Nothing like doubling your salary after a divorce settlement!5 points

When in the pitch did Mack bring up the mistral show? I'm assuming he didn't close with it. Maybe just threw it in quickly at the start. Those of you who would rather go watch golf than the team playing without the eyes can fuck right off and go watch golf. My commitment is to the school, students and players. They are the ones that have the right to decide which traditions they value. Also if losing the eyes destroys your fandom than we're better off without you.5 points
