  2. Motherfucker. How does shit like this happen? Productive updates and interesting speculation and then suddenly, dipshitted disputes over absurd fantasy classes and insecure handwringing about recruiting gurus lowering Manning’s rating because … because. Just idiocy from good posters, bad posters and whatever the fuck BurntOrange&White is. Help us, Malik Muhammed and Sydir Mitchell, you guys are our only hope.

  3. Troph, as you well know, my wife marries people. All people. And she has for years, even before the government would recognize some of those marriages. Her policy back then was that she would perform the wedding ritual for all. And, if/when the government legally allowed, she would come back and perform the full legal ceremony for free. When Obergefel came out, she ended up "re-marrying" multiple couples, eager to make their union official. Two days ago, she got her first call from a same sex couple who have her booked to marry them later this year. They are still keeping that date for the wedding with all the family and friends. But they asked her if she would be willing to perform the legal ceremony next week, while it is still legal. And they asked her if she had a place to perform the ceremony, and what it would cost them. She gave them the same answer that she gave before Obergefel -- there is no cost, and she would be happy to perform it at our home. We have a nice deck overlooking a greenbelt, multiple couples have married there. For those of you who celebrate this SCOTUS, your fellow citizens are already scrambling to do their best to secure a future for themselves and their families. And I know that you LIKE IT THAT WAY. So, in case my sentiments weren't clear, burn in hell.

  4. I disagree. I think he was at his weakest on 1/7. Everyone was distancing. Even Hannity, Graham, Mitch, McCarthy…they were all treating him radioactively. They truly thought he went too far and they read the opportunistic winds that night as throwing him under the bus being the best outcome. They very temporarily underestimated just what a group of garbage their base really was. They quickly found out. Watch the video of Graham getting harassed in the terminal at Reagan just a few days later by the maga mongoloids. They quickly pivoted and Mitch played the Dems again on delaying the conviction proceedings. Now, time has passed and they have shifted to mitigating and diminishing the severity of what occurred. If they would have called it tourists, little dust ups, etc on 1/7, they would have been roasted. Now it is part of the coordinated whitewashing. Look at the more deplorable shits like the sack and eurohorn trying to reframe the conversation cleverly…sarcastically calling it Pearl Harbor and similar tactics to imply overreaction to something inconsequential while the more useful idiot types like rex and icono say it was no big deal because they were too stupid to be effective or successful. Watch the Klepper video where people were pretending like they weren’t even familiar with what happened. No one would have tried to pull that bullshit on 1/7. On 1/7, he was truly vulnerable. Mitch could have executed Trump’s political life that day by fast tracking the conviction process. He was too chickenshit which is surprising honestly. He got everything he wanted out of him. Now he’s a nuisance to him. These hearings have demonstrated a level of corruption and outright criminal behavior that in any other era, it would be so humiliating that a party would do everything they can to destroy Trump and rebrand away from him. Hell, the hearings shouldn’t even be necessary…just playing the tape of trump’s conversation with the republican Secretary of State from Georgia over and over should be enough for 90% of this country to say holy shit, this is literally, not figuratively, literally the definition of autocratic, corrupt behavior that spits in the face of everything we pretend to hold sacred and special about our nation and the notion of democracy. When I think of that call, I think of the whole meme from the end of “a time to kill”…”close your eyes, hear these words recorded pressuring an election official to commit fraud and conjure votes that would directly undermine the electoral outcome…now, imagine she’s white/it’s Obama saying them.” If a single other person in the world had been recorded saying what trump said in that conversation, it would have been their permanent demise and likely a criminal conviction. Instead, he raised tens of millions of dollars from people who couldn’t afford it off it for his personal use. These fucking flag waving dipshits who claim to love freedom and all the other pithy cliches…wanted a monarch and were willing to financially contribute to the effort, go to jail and realize financial ruin, and even be shot to death in pursuit breaking through a window in the capitol to make it happen with not even the slightest sense of the irony. And Mitch figured that out. As crass and shallow as it may sound, it really is the monologue from the Dark Knight where Alfred describes the mafia turning to the Joker…a man they didn’t really understand. Obama becoming president, homosexual rights to marry, all the culture war losses…but the country club republicans did not understand what they were unleashing…a man and supporters where reason, decency, integrity, all that trite shit…it was a flaw. These hearings are enlightening and well presented to anyone paying attention…but in terms of trying to shame Trump or the maga mongoloids, it is like trying to shame a sociopathic murderer for being mean to other people.

  6. Not really. He was predicting that recruiting services may downgrade him for those perceived flaws because recruiting services have dinged prospects for those exact reasons in the past. It's not his opinion that he's overated. He's predicting what others will do. Some of you need to learn how to read and also stop getting your fucking snowflake feelings hurt when someone isn't fellating your favorite prospect.

  7. Seems like its rare to find a high school DT with a hudl full of him playing two gap and tackling the RB at the line of scrimmage. His hudl is 324 minutes of Sydir standing up a double-team, walking them back a step, watching for the RB/QB to pick a gap and then Sydir tossing aside OL to make the tackle. I'm here for it.

  11. He's one of us, a regular contributor, and he also happens to be an old, old friend of mine. He is presently in the hospital with myriad health issues -- he is in the ICU, etc. I don't have all the details, and even the ones I have I just don't look to share because privacy is a thing. That said, I and a whole lotta other folks are really worried about him, and hoping and praying for the best. If any of y'all like to pray, or just throw some good ju-ju into the universe on his behalf, it seems now would be a good time to do so. I hope to update this thread with good news soon, but felt like I needed to get this out there for this community (albeit in the more private forum around here).

  14. I read the article, it stated otherwise - if the opinion doesn’t cite it ok. The issue is this MASTER PRECDENT that allows conservatives to do as they please. That’s where we are headed. But other than that I don’t need to talk to you. I didn’t come here to engage with you, you’re the problem.

  15. Joe Biden and his team are not getting enough credit for getting Finland and Sweden across the fin(n)ish line. Adding those two is a massive upgrade to the Alliance. Unlike the last few rounds, they come to the table ready and with plenty to offer. His team used a lot of patient and non-histrionic diplomacy with the Turks and the Nordics to get to “yes” in a way everyone can live with. The Alliance and Western security is stronger.

  18. Day 13: Still positive and still isolated. Talked with a physician yesterday who told me it was fine to return home when my symptoms are minor. And that my kids are old enough not to need enough hugs all the time or be near my face. This isn't exactly true. So according to her, I am fine. Even though I am still positive on day 13. When I asked about going to a dentist for a routine cleaning I was told to put that one off. I could put the dentist at risk. Apparently, I am not a risk to my children and wife, but I am to my dentist. Granted they are different situations but the idea that this risk is acceptable but that risk is not seems a bit absurd seeing how they are both predicated on me being infectious to a degree. I was also advised due to lightheadedness when standing, that I should not exercise. Current symptoms: I get lightheaded when standing too long (showering, cooking) and my concentration is shit, and I for the past 2 days, I have needed naps, mild cough, congestion. I wish people would not downplay this thing. Losing my ability to stand, go for a walk, stay awake, read seems a bit more than a minor thing to me.

  21. Well, Manu and Tony are HOF'ers so there's that ... Let me give a little background on Pop. I think I've recounted this story on this board before (or maybe it was Shaggy). I graduated from UT in 1996 and went back to SA to work as an intern for Don Harris/Pete Delgado at KMOL-TV. I was also covering HS sports for the SAEN. My KMOL gig was great -- except that it was unpaid. I got to go to every sporting event big or small. That included every single Spurs gameday shootaround, practice and all the home games. This was the year Robinson hurt his back. Pop had just returned to the team as the GM after serving as assistant to Don Nelson in Golden State (I believe). Bob Hill's team had famously flamed out the previous two springs, the first when Hakeem put together the greatest six weeks of basketball I've ever seen anybody do -- Jordan included. Then the Spurs were largely uncompetitive in losing to the Jazz in 96. The Spurs cut ties with Rodman and sent him to Chicago for Kerr and Perdue (IIRC). At any rate, David hurt his back and started the 96-97 season on the DL and the Spurs, understandably, struggled out of the gate. The Spurs lost 15 of their first 18 games before David was able to return. Strangely enough, Pop fired Hill *right* before David was due to return to the team and made himself the HC. I was not a big Pop fan at the time and thought that was pretty much out of line to make that move considering all that Hill had done the previous few seasons. In fact, I thought it was odd poetic justice when David hurt his back again after playing just six games and was then lost for the season. My interactions with Pop were not great that season. The only reporter/journalist he got along with was Buck Harvey and I'm not sure the relationship was all that peachy the first year. Since the team was pathetic, there were times it was me and just the camera guys from the other TV stations at shootarounds or in the post-game press conferences. I think Jerry Briggs was the SAEN beat writer at the time (maybe it was Tim Griffin). But I will say one thing about what Pop brought. He instilled that team toughness, the mentality to scrap and be tough on defense that would help us (along with Timmy, of course) win that first title in '99. That would never have come from Hill. Hell, Jamie Feick came in and was pulling down 15 boards a night in the spring that season. Also, I might have been one of the first to receive the wrath of Pop's infamous surly-to-reporters interactions during a meaningless post-Xmas game. Avery was out because he had his tonsils removed or something and rookie Cory Alexander started in his place. Cory went off for nearly 30 points and the Spurs won (I think). Again, it's me and a SAEN writer and the TV cameras in the post-game. (Oh, and Chuck Mikitenic was there too.) All I need is a standard, "Cory was great tonight" quote for the 10 PM sportscast so I tee up the following question: "So, does Avery need to worry about that starting job?" with a wink and a smile. There was an awkward pause before Pop responded. Pop: "Who are you? Who are you with?" Me: "I'm, um, (gulp), "C-Man" with Channel 4. Um, um, just asking about Cory's night." This MF'er who shouldn't even be the HC at this point in my eyes was dressing me down? His team was going to lose 62 games that season. He knew who I was since I was about the only person -- other than the SAEN folks -- who was at EVERYTHING. I was pretty pissed. Thankfully, somebody else asked a question and we moved on. I made sure to ask another question before the PC was over just to show Pop he hadn't completely neutered me. Chuck caught up to me as we were running to the part of the Alamodome where we could shoot the video back to the station. Chuck made sure to let me know what Pop had done was completely unprofessional and unwarranted. Whatever. I figured he wasn't long for the franchise at that point. We finished the year without further incident but I basically couldn't stand Pop. I left KMOL that summer, went to work full-time at the SAEN and never crossed paths with Pop again. I moved to Dallas to work for the FWST in 1998. I hoped I'd run across Pop again during my time helping out on the Mavericks during early '00s playoff runs but it never happened. I wanted to poke Pop in the side and ask if he remembered that night back in 1997. By this point, I thought (and still think) Pop hung the moon. I'd love to have a glass of wine with him and laugh about that interaction when I suggested that maybe Avery was getting Wally Pipp-ed by Cory Alexander -- and he ripped me a new asshole.

  23. I think calling it the “Tulsa race riots” implies that there were two sides in the battle, both equally guilty for the conflict. Calling it a “massacre” is, I think, more appropriate. White people attacked black people without provocation. It wasn’t a riot. It was an assault, pure and simple. There were some black guys who had military experience and tried to defend their community. But the white folks were the aggressors. It seems a lot like Russia invading Ukraine and calling it a “special military operation.” No, it’s war, a war of choice, and Russia is the invading army. In both cases, one side is wholly responsible for the hostilities. And the other side never posed the aggressors any threat other than that the aggressors just didn’t like it that the targets of their aggression weren’t under their control.

  28. Aggies have sark and Arch pegged, imo. He needs talent all around him, just like Mac Jones. Who promptly got drafted and cratered in the NFL. What’s that? Playoff run as a rookie and pro bowl appearance and the most successful rookie in his class? Aggie fans are literally a hive extension of Helobious. If they’re saying it, it’s factually the opposite.

  30. Found her public record. She's got lots of info out there (29 different addresses, multiple cells phones, some (still active) FL corp named "Galaxy Brand Management, Inc." that I'm sure is totally above-board, and no education records - which usually means HS dropout), but no criminal history. Even checked PACER. So if there was a felony/fraud charge, must have been dismissed or (more likely) expunged.
