Things not going well for Joe Rogan

How many times are we going to say it’s not one thing, but when someone points out it is that thing, we rebut with “yeah they shouldn’t do that, but…”.

Yeah Jen shouldn’t be using the weight of the Oval Office to put pressure on private businesses, but you see here’s why it’s not a big deal this time. Stacy A has no problem shutting down businesses for a virus she obviously takes so seriously she can’t be bothered to put on a mask, but this is why it’s different this time…  Joe B thinks it’s ok to drop the hard R, but this is why it’s different than Joe R’s jokes.   We’ve left irony a long time ago for full blown hypocrisy, but I know, the last guy.

Because there is this thing called degrees.  It's not just black and white, right and wrong.  There is nuance.  I can't make you understand that though.

It's funny how often these guys accuse us of feeling this way like it's some horrible thing. They just really don't have much going on upstairs.

Yes, but there’s still right and wrong. And claiming something doesn’t happen, until it’s pointed out it’s exactly what happened, then walking it back and explaining how it’s different this time falls in the wrong column. Along other places like deceit, and hypocrisy. So yes, the white house spokeswoman is using her power to try and censor someone’s speech, because they don’t like what he says. Fuck all of you for making me defend this dbag.

Please don’t use that word to describe  America in any way unless you want to look like a fool who is grossly unaware what they’re talking about.

Welcome to today's Republican Party, and their pandering to idiots. I feel similarly about the word "socialism." Less serious than communism, but the word has lost all meaning. The Soviet Union's version of "socialism" is not the same as Norway's. But it's a scary word, so lets use it to scare up idiots who have the same voting rights as everyone else.

Is irony COMPLETELY fucking dead?

No, nobody around here is coming for books.....because the last I checked, none of the posters here are REPUBLICAN governors or school board members. You know, the people who actually are, in real-time, banning books, right here in the USA.  If you are truly a champion of "free speech" meaning speech and dissemination of ideas without government intrusion, then you very much should be up in arms.  But not about this thread.  Rather, you should be utterly pissed at the lockstep goosestepping from your own political party.

But you're not.  Because the irony thing.

actually, it's just because he's mean and stupid.

This is all just overwrought pearl-clutching from the DT types who need to make this into something it isn't because this isn't the government violating anyone's free speech or the abuse of government authority to silence anyone. Granted, this is a question of politics and Psaki should have been more clear in her answer, but this is another  ginned up right-wing grievance that has far more to do with gotcha politics than principled beliefs in free speech.

You would think these idiots would get tired of the constant daily bullshit they keep getting fed but nope, they seem to enjoy it like that gimp dude in the box in pulp fiction.

Can we change this fucking stupid thread title? The guy was recently offered $100M to switch to a new platform. I'd say things are going ok for Joe Rogan

I’ll bring your suggestion up for consideration at the next meeting of the cabal but I highly doubt it will pass.

It’s actually not trolling, it’s politics. Multiple admissions that what is being justified and rationalized today would be blasted four years ago, with respect to other issues. It’s 100% team based and hypocritical in a “complain when they do it, “but Trump” when we do it” brand of political gambitry.

Oh look, another donkey bothsides post.

The offenses and criticisms are not even in the same galaxy. Trump literally called the media the enemy of the people and his lunatic followers ate it up.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, in regards to Covid misinformation on social media and in the broadcast media, said "y'all can be better."

BOTHSIDES!!!

So this is who is behind the recent compilations:

Created in quarantine by three brothers, MeidasTouch is a pro-democracy, next-generation super PAC founded by three siblings (and lifelong Democrats) with the primary goals of protecting American democracy, defeating Trumpism and holding Republicans accountable.

Is this supposed to be a good thing?

It’s completely beyond his scope of knowledge to weigh in on Joe w/r/t all his political horseshit.

Now, Rogan is a wonderful source of info w/r/t pretty much anything that qualifies as a combat sport. I’d listen to him for days if he talked about Muhammad Ali, Tyson, Roy Jones, Mayweather, et al. That’s perfectly within his scope and to my best understanding, he’s on point on damn near everything regarding those guys. I’ve also listened to damn near everything he had to say about that Carlos Mencia nonsense because he was definitely right about that…and it was also within the scope.

It’s when he steps outside of his little ghetto with all the misinformation and conspiracy stuff that I have an issue.

You disagree with it because he’s expressing what your little cult refers to as a “prohibited belief.”

Lol. It’s your team that needs free college, free daycare, and a safe smoking package bud.

Literally the entire population?  Maybe you can explain to me how me paying several hundred thousand dollars for those items with my own money, and having the next generation not have that hardship (see: immediate investor class) helps me.

Just another run down so we understand the situation. At this point I’ll have paid for my school, my wife’s school, and several years of daycare at 27k/per.   Now my taxes will pay for the next generations school, too.   Now, tell me where it benefits me. And…go.

What team supports that? The current team just removed free junior college from their platform. If you can direct me to a team that's supports things like healthcare, daycare, college, and not trillions.on war I'm on board.

Especially those who wind up not going to college, which tend to be red people more so than blue people. But like you say, okay.

But as someone else also said, the Democrats are by no means in favor of that or any of those other things the degenerate you’re quoting mentioned. He wants to make believe and pretend that AOC, Bernie and the like control the party when they’re really just outliers while they remain the Party of Clinton.

I forgot, it’s the outlier degens on the R side that “control the party”. But not with the D’s. Those are outliers and the rest are middle roaders.  Got it.

anyways, i'm on record here in multiple threads advocating that the Democrats need to be bigger assholes, cheaters and thieves like their Republican counterparts in order to save our republic. so yay for consistency.

improved asset prices, more clients for whatever it is you do, and a broader talent pool to hire from.

You'll probably be dead before your kids and grandkids can cuss you for the legacy you've left them.

That’s kind of the thing. I’ve spent my life working so they won’t. It’s called taking care of your business, and people used to believe in it.

If I recall, you worked really hard and are bright and attended college on scholarship, right?  Then went into a lucrative field that afforded your kids private school, European vacations, and hell, gap years across the pond to find themselves.  Suffice you say it’s likely easier to have your outlook once you’ve “made it”.  I’d like for my kids to attend private schools too, and travel to Europe, and be able to attend private colleges. Grow up in a house valued in the 7 figures. And every extra dollar that comes out of my pocket to pay for John’s overpriced degree he didn’t completely think thru diminishes that chance. I’m glad that mine, mine, mine doesn’t suit you, now that you and yours are more than sorted, financially.

I don’t recall what it was but I put it in the other thread. Something to the tune of 350k was the opportunity cost of me paying back my wife and my loans like we agreed to. Wonder what kind of money I’d have had I been able to invest that in Austin real estate 16 years ago now.  350k is life changing money to lots of Americans.

You cool with getting rid of social security and Medicare too? Because that's a platform Republicans can definitely use to win in 2024.
