I dont think people understand the importance of IBRX’s news last week regarding treating lung cancer. With the trial results in 2nd line and 3rd line lung cancer and Anktiva being an approved drug in bladder cancer, a label expansion is not going to be nearly as difficult as a new set of trials (Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3).  In fact, The FDA could fast track this treatment.  IBRX + 2.35 to $9.70.

The talk of the long term response they see is also promising. Mentions of it having potential for being a vaccine like treatment as well because of it.

GERN earnings call on 5/2, coverage started today by Cowen with a buy rating and target of $10.

Quote

Analysts at TD Cowen began coverage on shares of Geron (NASDAQ:GERN - Get Free Report) in a note issued to investors on Monday, Briefing.com reports. The firm set a "buy" rating and a $10.00 price target on the biopharmaceutical company's stock. TD Cowen's price target would suggest a potential upside of 163.85% from the stock's previous close.

Sorry for the weird derail, but I think it's a hell of a coincidence that my older sister told me that her bladder cancer has come back yesterday, and this thing popped today. She'll be receiving immunotherapy treatments again for the next year. Her last round ~2 years ago cleared her, but they expected it to come back eventually, and it did this month. I have no idea what Anktiva does, or in what situations, but now I feel like I gotta ask her questions to see if this would be more of a help for her if/when it hits the market.

IBRX is supposed to begin shipping Anktiva May 6th.  Anktiva will become the standard of care treating bladder cancer. You mos def want to make your sister aware of this drug!

Was trying to get an order in to buy 100 Jan 25 $10 calls on IBRX on Thursday afternoon, but my deposit wasn't cleared for options/margin trading until late friday.  Could have had those for $.35/.   4x return (8x at the open this morning).  I may speed up the timeline on it from Jan to June.

As of the April 15th report, 54.838 million shares of IBRX were sold short. That’s up about 75,000 shares from the end of March. If they can get a squeeze going, IBRX will be something to behold.

Yeah, the 5/9 and especially 5/24 report should be quite telling here as to the mood of the shorts.

Short term, there’s a distinct possibility of a seismic short squeeze to propel the sp of IBRX much higher.  Long term, Patrick Soon-Shiong sells IBRX to Merck, BMS, or Roche in 2024, 2025, or 2026 at a value reflecting a sp of $50+.  They all have patent cliffs coming real soon with Keytruda, Opdivo, and Tecentriq, respectively.  Now, you can add Anktiva to their drug to extend the benefit and extending the runways of their drugs until Anktiva’s patent cliff in 2035.  Plus, the only way Patrick Soon-Shiong maximizes Anktiva is by selling to Big Pharma enabling sales in China, Japan, and the rest of world, not just the handful of markets they had on that slide in last Friday’s presentation.  And Patrick Soon-Shiong is 71 years old.  Would you like to try and put together a global sales force at 71?

Need some technical help here…

I’ve held 150 shares of MMM for way too long and want to sell.  In the mean time they spun off their healthcare side and now I have 44 shares of Solventum (SOLV) that I want to dump as well.

So for tax purposes, how do I put down the cost basis for those 44 shares?

Per 3Ms filing on their investor relations site, you will allocate 15.52% of your original tax basis in the 3M shares to your SOLV shares received in the spinoff.

I think your brokerage may automatically do this for you (assuming they have the original basis info).

I could be wrong.  If PSS doesn’t sell the company, in that case, we’re on the ground floor of the next big pharma company.

Yeah, thats how it worked for me when I received 500 shares in a spinoff last year. If I click on the tax lots for spinoff entity, it shows 4 separate and different cost basis amounts tied to the 4 dates that I accumulated shares. Etrade did the work for me.

 Thank you gents.

I switched to Chase in 2019, and don’t exactly remember when I bought MMM.  What I do know is how many shares I initially bought and the cost per share.

I’ll see if Chase has the information from when I moved my stocks and funds over. Thanks again.

Even funnier is all the meme stocks like AMC, BB, etc... rising as well. Market makers probably offered that roaring kitty dude 1% of the take from fleecing rubes selling them options just to spend three minutes making this tweet.

This could/should affect the 4U investors

https://www.axios.com/2024/05/14/biden-russian-uranium-ban

President Biden on Monday signed a bipartisan bill banning imports of Russian enriched uranium, with waivers for companies to continue bringing it in until 2028.

Why it matters: The U.S. spends an estimated $1 billion per year on nuclear fuel from Russia, so the new law cuts off a key source of revenue as Putin's forces escalate their war on Ukraine and drive military spending to levels not seen since the Soviet Union in the mid-1980s.

  • Congress moved to ban Russian oil, gas and coal soon after the full-scale Russian military invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022, but Russia supplies about 20% of its enriched uranium for U.S. nuclear fuel.
  • The legislation could shake up the industry's supply and initiating nuclear fuel supply programs will be crucial for the Biden administration to avoid industry disruptions and obstacles for the next generation of reactors, Axios' Nick Sobczyk reports.

C’mon now.  AMYZF has no debt and $13.58 million in cash which is more than enough to get them through the JV with Zenith. There’s nothing wrong with their science or process. As you are probably aware, EV demand has taken a hit as public acceptance has slowed. It seems hybrids are more popular than pure EV’s. AMY just needs EV demand to increase to make battery materials go up in value.  Once their JV is finished and they begin selling some product, AMY will receive a royalty on sold recovered/recycled material.  However, until EV demand increases, this is dead money and the sp will stay at around $.11.  Holding 125,000 shares of AMYZF at $.91.

Flipping channels this morning, and on CNBC there was a ad for Energy Fuels Inc (or as we know it UUUU), the ad said something about energy and defense related. I really didn't catch all of it, as I wasn't aware of who the ad was when it started.
I guess if you have the money, might as well court new investors - right?

I'm guessing that this means I should average down, again 🚀🚀🚀

Wait until you see my two 99% loss positions in weed stonks when they get closed out. Im still holding since I have nothing else to lose and there is a glimmer of hope..

ZEVY got liquidated, so I took the loss (pussy).

I could have bought a whole BBQ trailer or three.
