Yeah, crap. Gotta get on my computer. No mouse hover on the iPad. Thanks for the help.

You can also go to your profile, settings, and look for the ignored users page. You can add people to the list there.

The key recruiting battles to watch

The Texas staff is engaged in a number of key recruiting battles that will not only impact the 2026 class, but also the top quarterback target on the board in 2027.

While the recruitments in 2026 won't fully heat up until later in the season, Texas is working very hard on one of the top offensive tackle prospects in the country. Which players show up on campus during the season will ultimately tell the story, to be clear.

1. Malakai Lee, OT, Honolulu (Hi.) Kamehameha
The Texas Longhorns will not give up on the Michigan pledge until signing day. Lee is currently the top target for the Longhorns committed elsewhere. OTF is monitoring if any members of the Texas staff will head to Honolulu during the off week in late September.

2. James Johnson and Derrek Cooper
The Miami Hurricanes will not give up on either 5-star Texas commit out of the Sunshine State. If Miami did, the staff should be fired honestly. OTF will not be surprised if either of the two attend the Notre Dame at Miami game August 31. If I lived in South Florida and was given tickets as a recruit, I would go for sure. Cooper is making his OV to Texas September 20th weekend. Johnson will be back on campus in Austin this season too. The Florida Gators will also keep pushing for Johnson.

*Note: Expect these recruitments to follow Cedric Baxter Jr., Jerrick Gibson, and Myron Charles. Baxter took in two FSU games senior season, where he was once a commitment. Gibson and Charles took in multiple Florida Gators games.

3. Trenton Henderson, EDGE, Pensacola (Fla.) Catholic
The LSU pledge and OTF 5-star is expected to be a tough flip for Texas due to the Longhorns depth at EDGE, while LSU is set to graduate three of the top four in the program. Florida will also test LSU until signing day. Texas will try and get Henderson back on campus this season.

4. Kavian Bryant, QB, Palestine (Texas) Westwood
The 2027 4-star+ two sport star in East Texas is scheduled to be at the San Jose State game, as well as Texas-OU. Texas' main competition right now is Texas Tech, who will make the NIL component of this recruitment interesting. A decision during the season is certainly on the table. In speaking with a member of the family in June and recently, the recruitment is not currently expected to go into the summer of senior year.

5. Jalen Lott, WR, Frisco (Texas) Panther Creek
The Texas legacy and Oregon commit continues to be in contact with Texas. Whether it's Lott or family members, expect Texas to stay in contact.

Other current names of note:
Davon Benjamin, DB, Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian - Oregon commit
Zaden Krempin, IOL, Prosper (Texas) High - Texas A&M commit
Ole Miss will keep pushing for 4-star+ DL and Texas commit Corey Wells (Petal, Miss./High)
Florida and Auburn won't give up on 4-star+ DL and Texas commit Vodney Cleveland (Birmingham, Ala./Parker)

Texas will expand the targets list during the season ...
The Texas staff will expand the remaining targets list in the 2026 class during the season. Last year, 5-star Justus Terry, 4-star+ DB Graceson Littleton and 4-star reclass S Zelus Hicks all emerged for the Longhorns. As well as 4-star LB Kellen Wiley, who picked Miami over Texas on NSD.

Also, targets 4-star+ WR Daylan McCutcheon flipped from FSU and 5-star CB Kade Phillips flipped from LSU.

Current 2027 CB and Miami pledge Kenton Dopson Jr. (Miami, Fla./Norland) is one prospect that is attempting to reclassify to 2026, and Texas is working to get him on campus this season.

If Texas puts the hammer down on Ohio State I think it might impress some of these recruits.  We should be undefeated going into the bye week.
