2020 Democratic Nominee

Our media is dogshit but this is a mess of her own making.

She’s bungling easy stuff and she made it a bigger deal when she did the DNA test and made it an event.

That’s on her - not the media. She played right into their hands and played herself.

I think she’s brilliant and has really great policy ideas.

But she’s seems to be a terrible politician.

In the liberal utopia we all wished we lived in, that shouldn’t matter.

But in the real world, that shit matters. A lot.

Should she have taken the DNA test and concealed the results?  Wouldn’t that be a bigger scandal?  Maybe she really wanted to know?

The whole thing is bullshit.

Reminds me a lot of Hillary's email. Inconsequential really but somehow gets turned into a disqualifier. Meanwhile, we have a criminal sitting in the Oval Office.

The Washington Post is getting ripped to shreds in the replies over this “Not a story” scoop.  Which is encouraging.

Said it in another thread, but it's amazing how Rs and Ds get treated differently. This shit is beyond stupid.

the DNA test was dumb because it's inherently not a pure science and even then they don't have the requisite sample size to yield meaningful results about how much and what type American Indian you might be.  This is not some deep in the weeds fact about those tests.  I think that Warren thought she would have some "i got you by the balls now that you said you would do a thing if I did a thing and got this result!" on Trump by doing the test.  But Trump is a deplorable shitstain with no honesty or integrity, so nothing he says he will do has any meaning in relation to what he will actually do.  Not realizing that, not realizing how useless the test would be, not realizing how little people would understand that, and not realizing how all of those things would just be used against her is evidence of trauma's supposition - she's not particularly adept at politics.

Beto's interview with Oprah is being recorded today but isn't aired until Feb 16th. I'm guessing he doesn't announce at this time then since I believe the recording will be public. He couldn't control the narrative well enough. He needs to decide what he's doing.

Really liking Pete Buttigieg. Love he called the Electoral College what it is. I believe we're going to to need massive structural reforms, including constitutional amendments to restore democracy. I know the constitution as written was intended to balance minority and small state interests but I do not think in the drafters envisioned the relative population difference between Montana and California. That each has two Senators is preposterous. Republicans exploitation of their outsized influenced to fuck the country and sell the it out to Trump and his ilk will speed up the reform of our outdated constitution.

Lol. Open borders. Sanctuary states. Preventing the census from an accurate count of citizens and undocumented, blocking voter ID laws....then demanding tax payer money and representation regardless of citizenship.

The electoral college is needed more than ever as the left tries to usurp democracy and betray the country and constitution. All in the name of power and creating a slave state.

I could give half a sliver of a fuck and those on the right who claim they do need to be carpet-bombed with evidence of their ethical double standard regardless of how tedious it is, otherwise continue to accustom to the perpetual cancer of bullshit for every subsequent preferential candidate.

I acknowledge she fucked up but the fuck up is insanely overblown when compared to very legal and very cool Dotard.

It's not fair, but it's the reality. Trump, the GOP, and their supportive base are all acting in bad faith. The game is rigged and this is political warfare.

She tried to dunk on Trump and her detractors with the DNA shit. then she waited WAY too long to apologize to the Cherokee Nation.

She's a great lady and I'd vote for her in a heartbeat, but she has shitty political instincts and foolishly took the Trump bait.

This is correct.  She's not going to get the nomination because she fucks up the silly things.  She seems like a fantastic senator and will remain a credit to her constituents and the country there.

Ding ding ding. It’s not fair. But fair doesn’t exist in politics. That’s why Bush and Trump beat better challengers and Cruz won

The language in the Constitution and the 14th amendment is widely understood to require a count of all persons, regardless of citizenship status. Aside from assigning congressional districts, it's also used for divvying up federal funding for all kinds of shit based on population (and not citizens) like, for example, roads. The rationale, of course, is how many people actually use the roads - not how many citizens.

Hell, prisoners are even counted toward the population of a community thereby inflating the representation that these (largely rural) communities receive, and those prisoners don't even use any public services or fucking vote.

En bref, go to bed, old-man-shouting-at-clouds.

I guess we could count em as three fifths of a person. Anyone thought of that?

Fuck me in the ass then, we're going to get Mr. "PhD from the streets" or Mrs. "I think building schools is too dumb of an idea to combat crime"

This.
Does the warren Indian issue matter? Not much at all.
But will it matter, POLITICALLY? You bet your ass. This bar card is a torpedo amidship to her candidacy. We can argue about whether that is RIGHT, but we’d be wasting time arguing about whether that’s TRUE - it is.
A republican candidate can brag about grabbing women by the pussy, open and shamelessly lie, denigrate women and minorities, and it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter AT ALL.
A dem says or does something stupid, and it’s fatal.
Those rules and that order of the universe is totally fucking stupid. But they are what they are.

C’mon now. ONE Republican candidate did all that. Clinton v. Paula Jones was documented prior to Bill’s re-election.

And the failed real estate developer turned failed casino magnate, turned steak salesman, turn self-promoter, turned teevee personality, turned traitor is somehow qualified. Is that controversial?

Kamala Harris and Sherrod Brown were sitting together behind the generals tonight. Brown's a good dude but I can't see him mounting a presidential campaign. His voice is too low, throaty, and raspy. He's not much of an orator.

He'd probably make a good VP candidate. I could see a Harris/Brown ticket.
