3 weeks to go. Where is everyone's head with how this will resolve.

I still think Harris is going to eke out a small EC win by early Wed morning. I'm guessing she wins with PA and NV.

On Election Day, about an hour after the polls close and before results are in, Trump will be on TV declaring victory and thanking everyone to chants of "four more years".  He will put everyone on the defensive to say "well actually the results are coming in and it looks like Harris may have won PA/MI/WI/whatever".  Trump will say "the fake news is going to tell you that Kamala won but that's a lie."

It will be close all night and it will come down to PA and it might not be decided by morning.  It's going to be a long wait. I think Harris wins the blue wall states to clinch and maybe picks up Nevada to get to 276.  Trump picks up Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina.

The next day, the shitshow begins.  Lawsuits, press conferences at landscaping companies, people with signs.  It's not going to be great.  The shitshow continues into December with rallies at state capitol buildings and "conventions" of alternative electors and a bunch of crazy stuff from the red team.

DC gets locked down over the holidays prepping for what is supposed to be a ceremonial count.  Harris as VP counts electoral votes and puts 276 in her column FTW.  Trump announces he is a candidate for the 2028 election, primarily to keep raising money and stay out of prison.

Honestly, there's something to this. Maybe it can't pierce his veil of narcissism, but if she does an IQ test and cognitive test and releases them, and they're all way better than Trump's numbers, which he knows, he could have another unhinged meltodwn. Not that those are are, mind you.

You realize this is not how his game works right?

She could ace said exam, best score ever... He will say it was fake and he knows more about testing than anyone and his scores are higher.

It's a waste of brain to even consider it.

I hate most of your post but it ends well. I would love to see Trump continue to tie up the GOP for an extended period thru 2028 or whenever he dies.

Needs to happen regardless. New Congress sworn in Jan 3 and if it’s a Dem House majority, it HAS to be locked down to prevent some crazies from trying to kill Dem representatives

All of this.

Except sprinkle in some bloodshed/violence.  There will be an assault on at least one state capitol by Trumpists attempting to either stop a legislative action of some sort, or force one.  Otherwise, 90% or more of this is what's going to happen.  Except, of course, I'm not sure at all that Kamala will get the votes.

You clearly didn't understand my post. I'm not talkinga about what his response would be to this publicly. I'm talking about him unraveling privately becuase he knows a black woman is smarter than him. The same way the Lincoln Project aired ads in DC and Mar A Lago area for an audience of one.

I don’t see the base being as fired up this time since he’s not currently in office but Biden will definitely out the military on high alert to prevent another insurrection. Also more cameras to catch them all and lock them the fuck away.

DC will 100% be locked down on the day that Congress certifies the vote and potentially on inauguration day. 100% necessary but this action will also play into the MAGA's (notice how Q Anon has now fully morphed into MAGA) conspiracies.

It’ll be interesting if he tries, because that would make for 8 solid years of him being out of office due to his losing while still taking money away from the GOP and funneling it to his businesses. That’s going to piss off a lot of Republican politicians who are not getting any younger, especially as he gets more senile. I can only imagine the crazy come late January,

Bonus: he’d probably toss Vance and Thiel under the bus, and Vance being young would have to decide whether to passively let Trump try and destroy his present and future political career, or take some of Thiel’s money and go after Trump.  And Thiel is a vindictive little asshole who plays a long game against those who have wronged him.

Right now, I am thinking there is a 30% chance Trump wins a close one, 30% chance Harris wins a close one, and 40% chance Harris wins in a blowout.

I have decided to follow this election closely, despite knowing how crushed I will be if Trump wins. I figure I was already crushed a few months ago after watching the Biden debate. Worst case scenario is I got an extra 4 months of hope before 4 years of distraction and despair. Best case scenario is I get to watch America turn the page on this stupid, ugly chapter. This is Midway, and I can’t stop watching now.

I just can’t square the district polling and large sample polls of Latino voters, Asian voters, young voters and black voters with the state polls and tiny sub-samples in those polls. They don’t add up.

The district polling was a huge warning sign in 2016, as was the GOP’s performance in special elections leading up to 2016. It’s been the exact opposite this year. There will have been signs if she wins easily.

Debbie Dingell at this time in 2016 was screaming that Hillary was going to lose Michigan. A lot of people just hand waved it away as typical pre-election BS.  Some of these state politicians know their state very well and will sound the alarms. I haven’t seen much of that

For me we have two major data points for Trump presidential elections: 2016 and 2020. In those events, we have three main variables: Trump, Dem Candidate, and the public.

I think 2024 is the worst version of Trump. Not only is he personally deteriorated, his campaign is garbage. In the past two elections, the GOP attachment brought some competent logistics. That seems lacking today. He had women advising him. Ivanka is sitting this one out. Kelly Anne Conway is a minor character in this chapter. And I think that has made a difference in how he talks about women. Just techbro incel nonsense now.

I think the Harris campaign is the best version of a Dem campaign I have seen. It’s not just Harris, although she is good. KamalaHQ, the dynamic DNC, etc.

My big concern is America. If Trump wins, it will demonstrate a real rapid decline over the last 8 years.

Like what? I mean, realistically, what can he do? Serious question.

Since FEMA is a federal agency and they are government employees, can the DOJ go after anyone making death threats against them? Because local law enforcement in Western NC ain't gonna do shit, they're all Trumpy as fuck.

Episode 7 Wow GIF by Wrexham AFC

Sore Loser With three weeks to go until Election Day, Donald J. Trump stands a reasonable chance of becoming the 47th President of the United States. Despite assassination attempts, impeachments, special counsels, felony convictions and hundreds of millions in civil penalties, most polls show his race against V.P. Kamala Harris is too close to call.

The first time he ran for president in 2016, he was coming off the last season of Celebrity Apprentice. I had a front row seat as a finalist on that final season and marveled at his audacity with his checkered past to seek the highest office in the land. Then, in the blink of an eye, he went from novice to formidable challenger to victorious over Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

As President he was a loyal friend, who allowed regular access. My resulting coverage gave him the benefit of most doubts. His presidency was underrated. Throughout his first big scandal in office, the 2017-2019 Mueller Investigation into allegations Trump conspired with Russia to undermine our political process, I stuck with him, deeply suspicious of constant efforts to undermine his Administration.

The last time President Trump and I spoke was Friday, November 13, 2020, when he called me at home. It was ten days after his narrow lost to Joe Biden. He was calling to get my take on the controversies surrounding the election, which appeared to have been decided by a handful of votes in several states. I asked him what he would do if the vote count remained against him. As I reported on Fox News that same morning, Friday the 13th, he told me he was a reasonable man and would do the right thing if that time came.

It never did. Instead, President Trump embarked on an increasingly menacing campaign to discredit the 2020 election. With a motley supporting cast of increasingly fringe characters, he careened from one bizarre theory to the next, offering no meaningful proof, that he had been robbed by the Democrats.

None exists. If you are a Republican, Donald Trump has made a liar of you. He has coaxed and intimidated tens of millions into pretending he was reelected in 2020, and that the election was stolen.

In furtherance of that Big Lie, on January 6, 2021, Trump incited and unleashed the violent attack on the center of democracy, the U.S. Capitol for which he was Impeached. As his followers trashed that sacred space, he was on the phone urging Vice President Mike Pence essentially to overturn the will of the American people. Pence refused to put Trump ahead of the Constitution. Trump stabbed the Constitution in the back. Maybe you are inclined to vote for the former president anyway, because he says he will cut your taxes or build the border wall or pull out of NATO or put tariffs on China. However, you justify voting for Trump, adopting his big lie about the stolen election makes you a liar.

Better to admit he lost last time but that you don’t care because a Harris presidency would be a disaster, or you admire his defiance in the face of an assassin’s bullet. Just don’t pretend that he got robbed in 2020. That is a lie. Former President Trump is a sore loser who cannot be trusted to honor the Constitution. That is why I am voting for Kamala Harris to be our 47th President.

Mountain North Carolina Crazy predates Trump by about 300 years. There have always been a few roads up into the holler where, yeah, you can drive your car, but don't stop and get out.

Then more recently you've had new residents occasionally bringing their Florida Man ways and such.

Trump probably pushed up the meter by 10%. Add it to the reasons to slap the cuffs on him.
