Any idea how long it’s been since Lake Travis has suffered a loss that bad?  That was an ass whoopin.  They’ve had a few unexpected losses, such as when baker lost to Pflugerville, but it was a close one.

Probably Katy in the state game like 3 years ago

Funny, as a Westlake follower, I’d never think I’d be upset about Westlake thrashing LT (especially since I work w so many LT folks), but I’m concerned that the Chaps figured out how to defeat Card. I hope this was a team loss, but the INT’s are concerning, to say the least.

The o line for LT got their asses beat. It was reminiscent of some of those David Ash games. Card did well when he scrambled.

Horrible game plan for LT and when it went bad in the second and third quarter they started just throwing to Wilson which was predictable.

The refs missed a few calls too. Wilson got mugged on one interference and LT got away with a couple too.

Same happened last year - the WL DL mauled the LT OL.

Poor OL play in a large 6A school is not a function of talent and bodies. The problem is some combo of coaching, scheme, and conditioning.

I was thinking the same thing.  Every time he'd make a mistake:  "Hoooraaay!!...hmmm...damn..."

I'll look it up as apparently I have nothing better to do.  Let's see...

Last night vs Westlake, lost by 30 points
vs Katy in 2015, lost by 27 points
Continuing to look back...vs Westwood in 2006, lost by 32 points

That Katy game seemed like much more of an ass-kicking than 27 points.

And you forget that LT kind of sucked until 2005 or so, and then they quickly blew up into a monster.

pretty sure reesing won 4A player of the year as a junior in 2005 2004 so yeah that’s probably about when it turned.

I was wondering when that was.  This guide says they were 8-3 that year with a loss in the first round of the playoffs.  They were also 0-10 in 2002, and won state 5 years later.  That's amazing.   I knew they weren't anything to write home about in the early 2000s, but not that bad.

it’s really amazing how good todd reesing was.  I met him out on 6th about 5 years ago.  dude looked like a backup frat league quarterback, small and scrawny.  but he won a BCS bowl at kansas.  does not compute.

Reesing lives at the building I used to work at. He's definitely short, but is still pretty muscular. I've had drinks with him several times; he and his friends are total frat dudes, but they are incredibly nice and welcoming. They frequent Barbarella (in costume) a lot.

Nice little story about our team making playoffs in their first year of varsity. Showdown on Nov 2nd with Wagner for the district championship should be a good one.

School’s been open for like 3 years, adding a class each year. Other recent SA schools (Steele, Johnson, Brennan, Brandeis) jumped into varsity play the year the school opened. Vets is also playing in a joke of a football district, I’d be shocked if they hadn’t made the playoffs. Color me unimpressed.

I would like to point out that the mighty Austin Anderson Trojans took out Austin High last night.  Next week against Lehman gives them an excellent change to get to 5-3 before getting absolutely murdered the last two weeks of the season by Westlake and Lake Travis.  .500 is pretty good for them.

Solid 42-7 win over Lehman (who must be awful) gets Anderson their last win of the season at 5-5.
