Mike seems like a genuinely nice guy, he's been a bridesmaid many times but never the bride. He seems more locked in this year and post season than years prior from a mental standpoint IMO. I think that shift has helped elevate this team mentally.

He seems more chill. I guess with this team, you can be. They’re so experienced and the when you’re led by Mia and Joley, how could you not be willing to just let them lead?

Reminds me of Elliot’s 2022 title team. All he had to do was not crash the Ferrari

he gives off that "just happy to be here" vibe. I can bet it's a calming influence in the dugout

Probably. But we are one win away without her. What does 6 fewer losses get us? A better seed, maybe an SEC title and we don’t go to 3 in our super regional

We are doing fine without her

and we don't have to hear ad nauseum about the Texas Yankees paying a million dollars for a softball player.

Watched the game this morning due to missing it last night for son’s HS graduation.

1) What a great way to beat Tech via an IW gone wrong. Fucking love it.

2) These umps will make any casual fan turn off the TV as they are horrible

3) There has to be a better female announcer than Beth Mowins. She fucking sucks.

4) Great job by White, his staff and team to stay cool after the fuckery led to a run for TT.

Get the sweep tonight ladies! Great job.

I usually like Beth but it’s time to put her out to pasture and promote Amanda Scarborough to lead, with Michele and Jess and Holly. Amanda is good, for an aggy

Just please god not Courtney Lyle

Canady should be smart enough to demand more money from Tech for this, and hope that guy’s wife is ready to drop some money on some actual offensive players for her last go around in college next year

Rumor has it that Florida’s Mia Williams will be in the Tech lineup next year

It’s on robocoach as well. She is in the portal and apparently her mom had some not so nice things to say about Tim Walton on the way out

Saw that too. I’d still be pissed about the HC not starting your ace in an elimination game. Tim did not give his team a fair shot to win that game against Tennessee on day 2

I try to avoid robocoach bc they HATE Mike White and by extension, Texas

The HATE coach White because 90% of the posters are OU homers. I go there only for portal news.

Lotta residual hate from former PAC 12 fan bases. Many of whom still blame him (and his daughter) for Rittman’s firing at Stanford

Absolutely. Mia will go down as one of the best and toughest ever to take the field at McCombs. She's saved us so many times, whether with her bat, her glove or her legs. To think she's doing all this with a torn ACL is stunning. Maybe she'll change her mind and play some pro ball, but even if not, she's an undisputed Longhorn legend.

https://www.si.com/onsi/softball/injuries/texas-softball-mia-scott-reportedly-playing-with-torn-acl

journalism is funny - there's no actual information.  Indirect statements from the broadcast booth, Coach White plainly saying he isn't talking specifics, Mia herself not giving interviews - yet speculation as to when it happened and that it is stopping her from playing in the future.

I've gotten to where I watch a lot of Texas softball every season, but not a ton of other games until the tournament. I'm rooting for the sport because it is fun and so different from baseball. It really fucking sucks to see that obstruction call made when you start considering casual viewers teetering on whether or not they give a shit enough to watch more of the sport. The call was baffling and indefensible. It reminded me of the problems the NFL used to have regarding the catch rule, which they eventually realized they absolutely had to fix.

Can you elaborate on this? I've followed things at Texas for only the past 4+ years and have no familiarity with much of the history before that for other programs. I feel safe assuming I'm not alone in that regard.

The post season has had to have been an emotional rollercoaster for Coach White.

1. He had to coach against Rittman in the Supers.

2. His team had a terrible draw at the WCWS...Facing #5 Florida, #2 Oklahoma and #6 Tennessee for the right to face Nijah Canady at least twice.

3. He has to coach against his old friend Glasco, who's daughter was killed in a car accident after playing for Coach White at Oregon.

Yeah, cryptic at best. Certainly doesn't appear that her leg is about to fall off. Fortunately, she didn't get hurt (or out) tripping over Mike's foot as she barreled for home. Didn't miss him by much.

his only big mistake was stewart at short and the team/TK bailed him out on that one.  He is an outstanding coach.  he deserves one(and yes I know deserves got nothing to do with it).  physical errors happen, mental ones are the ones you can't live with and that was stewart's problem.  good news is everyone is back where they belong and we've got a real good shot at a title if we can get 3 runs tonight.

Gotta shut the door tonight.  I've always felt that winning game 1 and losing game 2 seems worse than the reverse - it's puts all the pressure back on you, and robs momentum.

We need a new approach at the plate tonight, hopefully with a better homeplate umpire that doesn't give Canady a bullshit zone.  Which of our rotating cast of 8 hole DPs can best lay a fucking bunt down?

Texas always has to do it the hard way to win a title.  it's just the way it is.

CoachWhite's daughter was a pitcher at Stanford under coach Rittman. She apparently led a charge to the AD to report Rittman for being a hardass. (ironic in that her dad was long rumored to be one of the hardest asses in coaching). Coach Rittman was eventually ran out of town and Standford Softball wandered the desert for several years. Rittman is a really good coach, used to assist with National Team, and now at Clemson where I have heard of zero complaints about this treatment of players. I have attached to formal complaints and Rittman's staff rebuttals to the claims. Looks like a bunch of whiny ass kids and over involved parents to me.

Lot of rumors he led the disgruntled parent revolt against Rittman bc his daughter didn’t play much and bc he was coaching against Rittman in conf play

Best of all, Canady pretty much giving Tech the  loss after all her dancing and screaming on the mound.

I like how she kept pointing up at foul pop-ups that her catcher had zero chance at.

I'd like to see Hunter get a chance to straighten that near HR out vs watching #3 and #4 strikeout.

Lol yes. While Michele and Jess laughed in the background at the absurdity of the whole play.

I was too busy thinking about how someone said Reese needed to get out of her slump by taking a few walks.

Maybe Reese is an aspiring rapper. Her Soundcloud is straight 🔥 but she's trying to get a label's attention with it. Beth's actually just tapped in to the underground.

That doesn't even mention her torn ACL that she's running on.

When they mentioned that, I immediately wondered if ACL therapy might have been how she and CJ Baxter became an item.

Watching how every batter at WCWS has struggled to hit Canady, I got to thinking what if someone could build an AI powered machine that could mimic the pitches thrown by the elite pitchers both in softball and baseball. I would think there would be a huge demand for something like that.

Already exists, doesn’t help, because hitting a baseball is hard

If only we had a head coach who was a world renowned men’s fast pitch pitcher who can simulate just about every pitch

JK, I think there was a shot of him working in the cages. We need an alumni game and he should pitch an inning or two

Would like everyone to know, the mystery Emergency no-flush Alert that interrupted the broadcast last night, has been solved.
You are now free to move about the toilet.

As of today, June 5th, 2025, an emergency alert was issued in Rowlett, Texas, not Dallas, warning residents not to flush toilets.
Reason for the alert:
  • A 24-inch sewer main collapsed near Liberty Grove Road and Chiesa Road in Rowlett.
  • This caused sewer backups and threatened to overwhelm the system.

Just because. 🤤

If she plays in this series, things have either gone incredibly well for Texas or the wheels have completely fallen off.
