Nice humblebrag, Dr. Casanova.

I missed the whole Melania signing an executive order farse. It's easy to get lost in the absurd.

This is being touted today by Bongino and we all know it goes nowhere.   Especially when they figure out that the pipe bomber was MTG and Alito leaked the RvW document.

That is the Army's 250th birthday, regardless of Trump.

On June 14, 1775, the Second Continental Congress voted to establish the Continental Army. This action marked the creation of America's first national military force, more than a year before the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

You can’t “regardless of Trump” this. As he does with everything, Trump is making this about him.

Not even gonna remotely refute that, because it is what he does.

That being said, the parade would be taking place regardless.  He can run his sewer all he wants, it's still about the Army's birthday.

Breaking. Trump is asking the SC to halt court order forbidding his shipping migrants to Sudan. He wants the court to make it easier for him to do so.

Would the parade really be taking place if it wasn't him demanding it? Why? We've never had one before (like why not on their 200th birthday?) and it's going to do a lot of damage to the city streets.

As pointed out above, he wanted one in his first term and was told "Yeah we don't do that here". I'm not sure how you say with a straight face that it would be happening without Trump.

As a Marine who celebrates every 10 November, or the preceding Saturday, I would venture the answer to be yes.

The celebration of the Army's 200th birthday was incorporated into the 1776 Bicentennial celebration

Yes, the U.S. Army did hold a military parade to celebrate its 250th anniversary on June 14, 2025. The parade took place on Constitution Avenue NW in Washington, D.C., between 15th and 23rd Streets. The event also included a fitness competition and festival on the National Mall, as well as other military demonstrations and musical performances

Did you even read that before you posted it?

The largest recent parade was because of the Gulf War.  Y'all are right.

Most recently, in 1991 more than 8,000 troops marched down Washington D.C.'s Constitution Avenue in a victory parade celebrating the end of the Persian Gulf War. Stealth fighter planes passed overhead while tanks and Patriot missiles rolled by a crowd of 200,000, according to William J. Eaton and Beth Hawkins of the Los Angeles Times. The attendance was below the 1 million-plus spectators predicted to turn out to view the $12 million event. But by that evening's fireworks display, the turnout swelled to 800,000.

You are so dumb, dude, why the fuck do you just lie and make shit up or copy/paste AI shit? You know you're going to get ripped over it and then you'll cry on another board when people start piling on you or negging you.

Stop trying to defend everything conservatives do while protesting that you're not. Everyone sees through you.

Thank you babysitting fuck stick. Other people already handled it gracefully. Too bad you can't.

I don't recall a single military parade w/ tanks and shit in my lifetime.  And the 200th anniversary would've been in 1975, so not sure how you "incorporate" that into the bicentennial celebration.

To put it in sharp relief:

Be brown and you once ran a stop sign back in 2012?  You should be deported and/or shipped to a Salvadoran prison.

Be white and commit $30 million in bank fraud, or steal $10 million of employee tax withholdings?  FULL AND UNCONDITIONAL PARDON.

But don't worry, folks.  Remember......it's going to get a LOT worse.  Wait until we get to type "be aligned with the administration and gun down political dissidents?  Immediate full and unconditional pardon, pre-empting even the beginning of any DOJ prosecution."

Went to the TimesMachine to see what they had on the 200th anniversary. No mention of a parade, but it's a pretty interesting read.

The United States Army, which celebrates its 200th birthday today, sees itself in a situation that Washington's untried Continentals would have understocd. Faced, like them, with a potential enemy superior in numbers and weapons, the Army must win its first battle.

The 10 companies of ???emen authorized by Congress on June 14, 1775, were without allies and lacked artillery, mumtions factories and transport.

Today's professional Army of approximately 780,000 men and women has few reliable allies in Europe or elsewhere and wants a new tank, a new armored personnel carrier and better surface — to — air missile systenis.

Balancing these problems are the healing of the Vietnam scars and the manner in which the all‐volunteer force has developed into what its Chief of Staff, Gen. Fred C. Weyand, call “the best peacetime Army I have ever seen.”

The service is approximately 20 per cent black. Recruiting, aided by the recession, is higher than it has been since the draft was discontinued. The recruits are in the service's three highest mental qualifications, with an increasing increment of high school graduates and men and women with one or two years of college.

A Representative Force

Like the first American Army, it is a representative force. The backwoodsmen and farmers, artisans and layabouts who formed those first companies have their contemporary counterparts in farm boys from the San Fernando valley, blacks from the ghettos eager for the education the Army offers and young men and women who see in the Army an honorable career and a challenge.

The Army is moving toward a force of 16 active and eight reserve divisions. By reducing support forces and by eliminating redundant headquarters in Alaska, Hawaii, the Panama Canal Zone and elsewhere, the Army has been able to form 48 additional combat battalions to accelerate expansion from 13 1/3 active divisions to 16.

The possibility of war against the Soviet Union in Europe strongly influences training, doctrine and weapons requirements. The high command, however, is acutely aware that the Army must be prepared for other missions such as limited wars comparable to Korea, or combinations of conventional and guerrilla wars like Vietnam.

Measured against the Soviet Army, the service is inferior in numbers of men and weapons. Lieut. Gen. Orwin C. Talbott of the Training and Doctrine Command ruefully quotes Napoleon's comment that the one constant factor in fighting Russia is that “one is always outnumbered.”

To field and general officers, the most satisfying element in the professional army is the manner in which the volunteers have responded to the service. General Talbott said that the physical, educational and psychological level today is far higher than it has ever been.

During a recent visit at the Army War College, the young colonels being trained for higher command were unanimous that the soldiers of the new Army are highly motivated, physically tough and technologically skilled.

With its missilcs that ??? claw an enemy bomber oul of the sky and its elcetronic reconnaissance devices, this is a far more complicated and complex force than any the United States has known in peace.

But despite ??? emphasis on materiel, the essential ingredient rem???ins the men, and the Army is striving to inculcate an understanding of 200 years of service stretching back to June 14, 1773, when Congress adopted the patriot forces in the field and authorized the addition of 10 companies of “rifflemen.”

In the interval the Army has fought nine major wars and the long, incoherent series of campaigns known as the Indian Wars. on innumerable occasions it has intervened in minor operations that killed men as dead as Gettysburg. Between and during wars, the Army has also made major contributions to American society in exploration, engineering and medicine.

Capt. Meriwether Lewis and Lieut. William Clark led a party that explored the territory west of the Mississippi and on to the Pacific from 1804 to 1806. Other officers, Pike, Bonneville and Fremont, explored, surveyed and mapped the territories over which covered wagons later rumbled.

The Corps of Engineers has been responsible for inland navigation and flood control. The lower Mississippi Valley flood control project has turned 30 million acres of wasteland into farmlands and townships.

The corps supervised the building of the Panama Canal. But this, their most notable achievement, would have been impossible had it not been for the Army's Medical Corps. The corps's Maj. Walter Reed discovered in Cuba that the Aedes mosquito was the carrier of yellow fever. Armed with this information, the Army controlled yellow fever in Panama and the canal was completed.

Army's Role in Medicine

George Washington, the first commander in chief pioneered the Army's role in medicine when he ordered the inoculation of the Continental Army against smallpox. Since then the Army's Medical School has developed a life‐saving typhoid vaccine and discovered the pneumonia germ.

Despite its contribution to the building of the nation and its martial success, the Army has never been particularly popular. Over long periods the service has been mocked, villified and abused by civilians innately distrustful of any military establishment. The apogee came in 1968‐1972 when the Army was bitterly attacked for its role in the Vietnam War.

But, as officers point out, the same Army that has broken strikes and that dispersed the Bonus Marchers of the thirties held the lines at Bataan with deadly courage. The Army responsible for My Lai was also responsible for breaking the back of Nazi Germany's last major offensive at Bastogne in the Ardennes.

The Army appears to be fighting its way back into public favor. A sergeant of the First Division, flying home from Kansas, told a fellow passenger that whereas four years ago he never were his uniform on leave, he now did so and found himself busy answering questions about life in the new Army.

The first professional Army, authorized by Congress in 1784, amounted to eight companies of infentry and two of artillery formed into the First American Regiment of 800 men.

An armored division, a mechanized infantry division less one brigade, another mechanized infantry division and an armored cavalry brigade are earmarked for reinforcement or the Seventh Army in Europe.

Other forces in the continental United States provide a strategic reserve of one armored cavalry division, one infantry division, one air‐mobile division one airborne division and one infantry brgade.

The general staff hooes that these dispositions will enable the Army to fulfill its obligations under the general Defense Department commitment that American forces be prepared to fight one major war and one limited overseas contingency at the same time, the “oneand‐a‐half wars” concept.

The Army's “Win the First Battle” doctrine was born of, two situations, one political, the other technological.

In a new conflict, the Army believes, the United States will not have time to mobilize men and materiel while powerful allies hold the line as was the case in the century's two world wars. America will be engaged from the outset and will have to fight with what it has.

At the headquarters of the Training and Doctrine Command at Fort Monroe, Va., the officers who plan and direct the training of the Army deplored a general ignorance of passive precautions against enemy air attack such as dispersal of vehicles, spacing on the move and camouflage.

Air Superiority a Factor

American soldiers have not fought a campaign without command of the air since 1942. But a campaign in Europe or the Middle East might find the Soviet Union enjoying local air superiority. Officers and men apparently cannot envisage such a situation. But the Army is confident that emphasis in training will improve performance.

The Army needs more surface‐to‐air missiles to supplement the Lance and Roland, the Franco‐German missile now being evaluated. The anti‐aircraft team of Chapparal missile and Vulcan cannon is not an allweather weapons system, which limits its usefulness in Northern Europe.

There has been a general decline in the Army's preparation for chemical warfare, field in which the Soviet army has registered impressive progress.

Finally, the Army generally, and especially the Seventh Army in Europe, is unprepared for nuclear warfare. The Russians are. Captured Russian tanks and armored personnel carriers in the October war were equipped to “button up” and escape radiation. All Russian divisions have elaborate equipment for cleaning vehicles that have gone though areas contaminated by nuclear explosion.

The man is a fucking lying psychopath, exhibit infinity.  God I wish he would fucking die, tonight.  Choke on a big Mac.  Massive MI.  I don't care.  Just fucking die already.

Canadian PM sitting in the White House a couple of weeks ago, very politely but firmly stating "Some things are not for sale. Canada will never, ever become a part of the United States".

Two weeks later, President Homer Simpson: "They are considering the offer!" (to save some money on missile defense)

Here's today's pardons:

Our justice system is so gross.

In a post on X, Trump’s adviser Margo Martin posted a video of Trump phoning Savannah Chrisley, the couple’s daughter, informing her of the plans for pardons.

“It’s a terrible thing. But it’s a great thing because your parents are going to be free and clean, and hopefully we can do it by tomorrow,” Trump said.

What's a terrible thing? That a white couple was convicted of bank fraud, lying to the IRS, and then found guilty by their peers?

He doesn't even pretend that he's not a criminal.
