FWIW, "insiders" on the aggie 247 board are gleefully running their mouths within the last hour that they landed Coleman.

some OL depth would be nice

We definitely would still need two guards (or a guard and center) even after adding the Michigan duo. What we need depends on how we plan to use Guarnera. We have some existing depth at tackle but I'm not sure there is a single player on campus or coming in this 2026 class I'd ever want to see at guard next season even as a backup.

holy fuck Nahlin is the master of saying nothing with a shit ton of words. are there really people that pay 9.95 to any of these sites? I can't think of a bigger waste of money.

I have no idea if Coleman is the best use of the funds required to get him, but perception-wise you cannot lose this kid to aggy unless you have a hell of a plan b.

Some of you guys don’t understand that every contract is a 1 year deal and if you know anything about professional sports there are no bad 1 year deals. You would much rather be wrong on a guy than miss out on one. If we are truly all-in you take and you don’t look back

As an example, they didn’t want to pay $1m for Wisner based on their resources and their estimated value for him. What if the RB pay is going up across the marketplace substantially? Do they know market rates, at least roughly? I realize a name like Coleman is difficult to estimate.

Considering Wisner committed to a 5-7 team that had a QB leading their team in rushing last year and a coach that will unemployed in 9 months, I think Texas is the one who read the market correctly.

Hopefully this is the part where they agree on a number, ags get all excited that its happening, and he calls us and says here's the new number, send me the e-signature.

Someone needs to tell Cody Campbell this is dumb. Literally anyone can pay to put an ad up there. I worked in that area for around 7 years. Heck people put birthday wishes on the same signage he’s bragging about. Most people passing by that are from other countries and have no idea what in the heck that’s all about.

It's not for New Yorkers, it's for Lubbockans (Lubbockers? Lubbockites?) to point to their other hick friends and say "look Rebus, that good ole boy Cody really made us huge!"

Too bad that they can not rig up some sort of smell to go with the sign so that all can get a good whiff of what Lubbock smells like

Seems like bad news, right?

We were never gonna out bid aggy anyway even if it was Jeremiah smith and Dakorian Moore hybrid. Still need to address the most important issue. The line

If we were never going to outbid, then we should've never pursued him in the first place. That was an extremely obvious high bid recruitment.

can’t wait for another year of having a shitty offense unless a few of Kaliq Lockett, Ryan Wingo, Jaime Ffrench, and Michael Terry take a giant leap.

What a joke this transfer class is becoming.

Maybe all of you need a new hobby bc you clearly don’t enjoy this one at all. Knitting? Decoupage? Scrapbooking?

Now, it looks like a lot of money, but next January, it won't seem like so much.

then why the fuck did we run our mouths about being all in? we arent all in. we are in to fill some minor holes on the o-line and add nothing else anywhere. its the same thing as every other year. our big money people arent spending anything on getting these guys and we knew that going in. we talk about it every year. were never going to overspend on anyone. so we end up having the same conversations every fucking offseasn.

Omarion Miller would have been an interesting name to watch but it looks like he is locking in with ASU. Nick Marsh would have been fantastic for what we really need but ofc he signed with Indiana yesterday. Scudero has major drop issues but is worth it; ofc he is locked in with Colorado. I think KSU and Boston College both had good WRs enter but those guys might be locked up as well. Going to be interesting to see where we pivot.

edit: woops mentioned BC guy twice.

Would this Sark to LV smoke be a reason Texas seems a bit cold to start?

Did any of us seriously think A&M was going to let Coleman go to Texas? They will take out another mortgage on Kyle Field for an off-season ‘W’ over big brother.

I thought it was Tennessee. Or Atlanta. He’s the Lane Kiffin of the NFL offseasn I guess

Reed still at the helm for aggy? Then a year after their all-time gravy schedule, they're losing at least 3 games no matter who lines up wide. One of those losses will be to us.

Yea, it’d be an absolute waste for Coleman to go there. But, he created first round buzz even with the Jackson Arnold experience so who knows?

Tre Richardson is a solid fit with what we originally expected the staff to prioritize at WR (speedy guy with some playmaking ability in space) but with Livingstone's departure we probably need to get at least one bigger bodied WR as well.

Oh boy the whole football board showed up to redirect their general dissatisfaction at life here.

The Raleek Brown news is fantastic. Like for like replacement for Brown as the lightning back, now we just need the thunder downhill runner.

I agree with your takes like 99% of the time on here, but it’s very obvious that the staff was feeding the 9.95ers an overly rosy picture that has not remotely developed. There’s of course still time to correct, but ignoring that this first weekend has not gone according to plan is ignoring reality.

Well Reed is a lot better than Jackson Arnold. I'm not sure that dude is even a D1 quarterback.

Regardless of who lines up at receiver we're going to kick their ass.

When we took Matthew Golden from Houston (Big 12), he had pretty pedestrian numbers (38 catches, 404 yards) but he showed big flashes including the game against us.

I don't get this assumption that going from the Big 12 to the SEC is some overwhelming task. The entire 2024 Longhorns team did it quite easily.

I view WR and undersized RB/occasional slot as different types of players. It's why WR'S get paid better in the NFL. As for college, I don't one what the differential in pay is, but still, Holgerson got fired at the end of the 2023 season, anyway. It was a total shit-fest at Houston, so I don't know how much I can take away from that situation. Plus Sark recruited Golden before he signed with Houston, so he knew his skills set.

I see the issue. You use the same word "we" to refer to three different groups in this single paragraph. And none of them are the Texas football program.

Or what?

Gerry mentioned earlier, he doesnt think Texas is going to give out any market setting offer that exceeds how much our best players are currently getting. How much is Marcel Reed getting?
